[ He chuckles and leans into the kiss, glad that little moment of awkwardness is over now. ]

I think she and Pacchan can manage just fine without me for a bit. [ It's hard to not shudder as his hand goes down his neck. Genji reaches down to gently cup the hand on his chest, holding it close to his heart. ]

Only on a few missions when I was in Blackwatch. It's a country with a lot of history, but it's mostly known for its food and culture. There's a huge tower in the capital city that everyone in the world knows of.

[ Shigeru will...explain it, eventually, maybe. But for right now he's rather content just touching Genji and kissing him like this that it goes completely out of his mind. ]

Food and culture? Those are two of my favorite things, you know. [ He gives Genji a wryly smirk. ]

A tower? What's it for? Can people go inside it, or is it closed off?

[ He kinda wishes he could see it for himself. But the books here have proven useful in that way at least. Once he finds out it's the city of love he'll probably get super embarrassed saying what he's about to say. ]

I wish I...could go there with you. I'd really like to travel around Earth and just...see everything. [ With him is the unspoken thing, but Shigeru hardly needs to say it when it's in his voice and expression. ]

[ Genji chuckles. ] Yes, a little bird may have told me that about you.

[ He finds it cute that Shigeru is always so interested in things from his world. ] It's a tourist attraction now, so yes, people can go inside.

[ His expression softens and he tugs Shigeru a little closer. ] We will, one day. We'll have a date at the Eiffel Tower and everything. [ How cliche yet romantic; Genji is finding he likes the idea.

He huffs a laugh again. ] Hopefully a friend of mine won't mind flying us around.

I see. [ His cheeks flush momentarily. ]

I-I really like the sound of that. [ He might move close enough that their hips will brush together. Shigeru's cheeks color again as he laughs alongside Genji at that. ]

You think they would? I mean unless they've been to France before. [ But you know maybe having privacy would be better anyway...

But he'll just lean into Genji and kiss him lightly again. The hand on his chest curling slightly over the warmth from his glowing chest piece and heart. ]

You have to tell me more about the places you've seen. Reading about it in books isn't the same as when you tell me. I-I like hearing about where you've been.

Me too. I'm sure it will become a reality for us. [ He smiles at the hip brush and returns it, then chuckles. ] I'm sure she wouldn't mind. She'd probably bring her girlfriend along so we'd have plenty of time alone.

[ Definitely flirty. He returns the kiss warmly and nods when they park. ]

I'll tell you anything you want to know, love. Will you tell me about places from your world in return? I want to know as much about you as well.

Of-of course! I'd...love to tell you more about my world. It's a lot different from Earth. But there are things that are similar too. It's really amazing.

[ Shigeru smiles before he pulls away then to get the rest of the food out and set up. ]

But we should eat, and then you can show me those books Gladio gave to me.

[ Which are in Genji's room still but he's not going to focus on that. So he'll busy himself with taking out those onigiri and he might offer one to Genji as he takes one for himself. ]

What...what sorts of things do you want to know? [ Shigeru's told Genji rather a lot about himself but there's also a lot of things Genji still doesn't know. ]

[ Genji just smiles, that look on his face he always gets when he feels particularly smitten. (Which is most of the time nowadays.) ]

Yes, good idea. I wouldn't want it to get cold.

[ He accepts the onigiri and takes a bite, the warmth of the rice comforting. He ma barely be able to taste it, but it's more than enough. He answers after he swallows. ]

What about the city you grew up in?

[ Shigeru's expression turns thoughtful as he thinks on that. ]

My city...well phrobiests are born and raised on islands secluded from the main continents of my world. So my city was mostly filled with other phrobiests. There were some normal people who lived there, but not many. I...never really got out much after I turned 10 when my powers manifested. But from what I remember of it before that the city was small but there floating skyscrapers and street vendors that would sell things from the main lands. The sidewalks were filled with people wearing all sorts of strange and normal clothing, and I remember it smelling really sweet because of the cakes and things people used to sell.

[ He smiles fondly at the memory of it all. ] I used to go there with the maids, before I got my powers, because my parents didn't really like to when it was busy like that. I remember it being really fun though!

[ Genji munches on the onigiri as he speaks, finding himself engrossed in hearing him physically speak for the first time. He always heard Shigeru, but it's such a different experience. He's happy that he's happy with this ring he was given. (And he wasn't joking about needing to step up his game either.) ]

Floating skyscrapers sound incredible, I don't think there's anything like that in my world. [ He leans against the edge of the counter. ] Is that where your interest in cooking started, the memories of the food and smells?

[ It breaks his heart that Shigeru was so sheltered, but he's free now. Genji wants to experience all he can with him. ]

It's from our powers mostly. We have pretty advanced technology too, but I think phrobiests used their powers to keep them up like that.

[ His smile is shy as he takes another bite of his own onigiri, nodding sheepishly. ]

That and...I used to help cook in the kitchens with the maids and butlers. They...really liked it when I lent a hand. I liked doing it with my mother too, she was a good cook, when she was around to do it.

[ That gets another smile from him as Genji imagines a small Shigeru shadowing the cooks in the kitchen. Far too cute. ]

That is quite the adorable image. [ He finishes off his onigiri and licks a finger. (Flirty? Flirty.) ] We had maids, butlers and cooks but I never even thought about learning. And my poor mother could barely boil water for tea. [ That gets a laugh. ] She did her best though.

[ Shigeru flusters as he watches Genji lick his finger like that. Given his own...deal with his hands it's not really surprising the thought crosses his mind, nor the image of Genji kissing his palm only moments ago. There's something...oddly sensual about it and he looks away, abruptly coughing a little, as some of his food goes down the wrong way. He smiles back sheepishly. Clearing his throat he'll just continue on like nothing happened, yep. ]

Did you ever do anything with her? Like hobbies or-or go out to places?

[ Trying to save face here as the redness on his cheeks slowly dims. ]

[ Oh no... he's so cute. It hadn't been entirely intentional but it's hard for Genji to not at least be a little flirty around Shigeru, when it's appropriate. He doesn't call attention to the red on his cheeks, as much as he wants to lean in and kiss both of them.

The question about his mother makes a nostalgic look cross his face. ]

We did. She primarily trained us, but she loved books and literature. It's where my name came from, actually; one of her favorite stories. She'd try to take us to festivals if she had the chance when we were boys.

[ Genji has a faint memory of watching his mother deftly scoop up a goldfish for them at a festival game. The look on the poor person running the stand... ]

[ Shigeru doesn't mind the flirty side. He finds it rather...endearing and quite cute as well. Still he's more flustered by his own thoughts and ideas than anything else. Gosh he really never knew he had it in him...

But at Genji's reply Shigeru listens with a curious look. ]

What's the name of the story? Do you...mind if I read it? [ He wants to knoq where Genji's name comes from. But his shy little look with that red tinge on his cheeks will probably undeniably win Genji over. He just...wants to know so much more about him, he can't help himself! ]

I think my parents named me after...one of our great great uncles that fought in the war. [ It was a little intimidating being named after someone with such high regard. ]

I went to a festival once back home. It was...really nice they had a lot of really good food there and the most amazing fireworks too.

[ Genji would try to move mountains with just a mere look from Shigeru, he's realizing. Quite dangerous indeed. ]

I don't mind at all. It's called The Tale of Genji; I think there's actually still debate as to whether or not it's the first 'novel' in my world.

[ He reaches out to curl his hand around Shigeru's hip again, touch light and gentle. ]

Mine were much the same. Food, games, fireworks and dancing sometimes. [ He leans in and kisses him softly on the forehead. ]

Is that so? I'll definitely have to read it then. [ But he might let out a soft laugh as Genji curls his fingers around his hip again. His voice is a little breathless when he speaks. ]

It's really amazing what things are similar and different between our worlds, isn't it?

[ Ah. Genji touching him like this...always sparks something in him that he can't fully recognize or control. It's was something beyond love and care, adoration maybe? He doesn't know but he finds himself closing the distance between them both and giving Genji a light, but heated, little kiss on the lips. One of his own gloved hands will rest atop of Genji's his other going to Genji's cheek as he lightly traces the scars on the others face. An idle little motion but gentle and caring all the same. ]

Speaking of books do you want to go to your room? [ Ah that sounds a bit... ] I mean for the books that-that Gladio gave me!

[ He looks away a little flustered now. He's so embarrassing, please forgive him! ]

[ Genji is finding her cherishes these moments he can be gentle, so much so. It's really the first time in his life he has even been given the privlege. ]

It is lovely to hear you laugh.

[ He returns the kiss, feeling goosebumps dither his skin as he traces the scars on his face. Genji never thought he'd be in a place where he could show his face without pitying or scared looks in return. In a lot of ways, he's thankful for this place.

A rumpled smile pulls at his face when he asks about the books. ] Yes, of course.

[ He takes his hand with a squeeze and starts to take him back into his room. Which, thankfully, he had just recently tidied and organized. His swords are on a stand in the corner and the various books and other little plants are on a bookshelf nearby. There's a box atop it with the books Gladio wanted Shigeru to have. ]

[ Shigeru's face colors so fast with that response. Gosh he's not even used to his own laughter yet and here was Genji saying he loved it. He might touch his throa with a gloved hand briefly. ]

It's still a little strange to hear though. [ He is all smiles and just beaming with happiness as he lets himself be led into Genji's room. He's...a bit jittery now that they're actually in there though. Ah. He feels so silly, like a child almost, get it together Shigeru! He'll go over towards the bookshelf and look over his shoulder back at Genji, his smile happy and bright. ]

You have so many books I've never read before... [ he figured Genji liked to read but, well, he should look some of these up so he can see what they're about. ] Which one is your favorite?

[ He'll ask idly as his hand hovers over the box with a curious glance. His back now fully turned toward Genji as he looks through the shelf and all the volumes contained on it. ]

[ He grins a little. ] You will get used to it, I'm sure. I could always see on your face when you were laughing, but it is nice to hear now as well.

[ Ah, being in his room alone with Shigeru was always so... his room always has a lingering smell of the incense he uses to meditate, so it's calming. Calming and now invigorating that the person he loves is in his private space. Goodness.

And that back is.... very distracting. Genji pads over to him as he asks that question, making his presence known since he never wants to startle him. Genji slides his arms around Shigeru's waist, looking over his shoulder. ]

There are two books written by a swordsman named Miyamoto Musashi centuries ago that mean quite a lot to me. [ Those are resting on the top shelf. ] And anything by Haruki Murakama is fantastic.

[ All of this said close to Shigeru's ear, voice a little deeper. ]

[ It was something being alone in Genji's room with just him. Not that they haven't been before but being alone with the whole apartment to themselves is...nice. It makes him think of Christmas Eve and all the other times. His face is a little hot as he thinks about it. The incense and tranquility of the whole atmosphere was rather invigorating. Shigeru will give a sharp intake of air as Genji's arms slide around his waist. But the exhale is soft and bemused from the smile touching Shigeru's lips. He might lean back a little into Genji there and then, the desire to kiss him is so very...strong. But he'll swallow thickly and push it away for a brief moment. ]

O-Oh. I see. I-I'll have to look them up at the library... [ he doesn't finish his sentence, that's not important right now, as his body is telling him that it craves more contact from the man he loves standing behind him. He'll shiver instinctively at Genji's voice so close to his ear and with that deeper tone it's hard not to lose control. He really does love it when Genji gets romantic like this. He can't really control himself as he turns his head just enough to give Genji a heated kiss, a gloved hand coming up to Genji's cheek to gently turn his head a little so that Shigeru can do so. ]

[ Oh. Genji smiles into the kiss, feeling Shigeru shiver a moment before filling his belly up with a pleasant warmth.

Although the not-aroused part of his brain comes to the forefront as they part, even though his voice is still husky and deep. ]

We don't— I mean, I really didn't bring you here just to get you in bed. You know I'll spend time with you in any way you want.

[ His misunderstanding from earlier, that Shigeru had been uncomfortable, makes his doubt appear. Something he struggles with still. ]

[ Shigeru huffs out a soft laugh and shakes his head. ]

I know that, Genji. [ But what happened before might click there and then and his face colors slightly. ] If it's about before...it's really okay. I... [ he might purse his lips a little before continuing. ]

I didn't....mind it. Not at all. [ His face is just full on red now. He really didn't mind it at all. But he's quick to save face with another light kiss. His eyes half lidded now as his own voice has a husky tone in it. ]

But you know I...I liked it. I just...didn't want to say so. [ He might shift a little, pressing himself against Genji in a slightly teasing way. Shigeru please. At least he's embarrassed by his own actions so there is that. ]

So you don't have to worry about that. But I don't want to make you uncomfortable either. I like spending time with you no matter what as well.

[ Oh... oh. At that realization the concern between Genji's brows falls away and he seems to light up. He grins again and leans in, tugging Shigeru closer still. ]

You liked it? Good, I'm glad. [ He brushes their noses together, closing his eyes. ] The thought of making you uncomfortable makes me feel terrible. I never want that.

[ He opens them, still smiling. ] You don't need to be shy about telling me what you like, I promise.

[ Genji kisses him warmly. ] So I suppose... there's no harm in multitasking, is there?

[ Now he's just being cheeky. ]

[ Shigeru smiles and laughs at that action. ] You could never make me feel that way. I love you far too much for that to ever be the case.

[ Genji respected his boundaries and always made him feel safe and comfortable. There's no way he'd ever be anything but that around him. Shigeru hums through the kiss, face flushed as he nods. ]

Are you going to recite poetry for me? [ Shigeru has his own cheeky grin on his face as he moves closer to Genji, hips pressed together now, as he kiss him again. And he'll proceed to kiss him between every question he'll ask. Moving away from the bookshelf and towards Genji's bed. ]

What other books do you like to read? Have you ever read comic books before?

[ Aaand Genji melts a bit. He pull his arms up a bit to hug him around the middle and tugs him closer. ] I love you too, so much.

[ He laughs a little at the question and that cheeky little look. ] I'm afraid you've put me a bit on the spot for that, love. I'll have something prepared for next time.

[ It's very easy to get his head up in the clouds from those kisses too. He helps guide him towards the bed by his hips, eagerly returning them. ]

Anything with a big grand adventure in it. [ Smooch. ] And yes, absolutely. [ Smooch. ] I can recommend you some, if you'd like.

[ Whoops the backs of his knees are against his bed. Oh no he has to sit down and tug a Shigeru onto his lap, whatever shall he do...! ]
