Power Practice: Finesse - Perimeter Guard Area
It still isn't easy, she's got to keep her eyes on the prize to do things so carefully. Bigger is in some way easier. She isn't trying to move her little discs, and never move them in more than one direction.
Maybe now would be a bad time to pester her, or the best time.
Power Practice: Reaction - Perimeter Guard Training Space
She flexed her fingers, a few people offered to throw things at her until she figured out a way to practice that didn't impose on the time and energies of others, "Okay... I'm ready."
stumbles in late
But now he can at least do this much; he can lower his power levels, help her master her skills.
"Very well, young Lauren...! Though, should you be so exposed? Maybe some padding, or a helmet..."
See, he can predict your narration!
Or, you know. He doesn't want to kill a pseudo-student.

"If you want to be sure, you can throw them next to me and I can still stop them them." Provided she could see them moving she can throw up a shield. She was one of the stronger mutants in the Underground, but she did have limits. Might be best to find them out before they hit her in the head.

He can't argue that; oftentimes, you won't have the luxury of having protective gear. Though he recommends it, of course, to whatever hero would like to safeguard themselves. Luckily his aim is pretty darn good, so he's a bit more okay with throwing it near her instead of at her. So, should he use 5% power...? 5% should be okay. Maybe a little under. He gives a firm nod.
"Very well. Prepare yourself, young lady!"
He cocks an arm back, aims, and fires — just enough that it's speeding akin to a pro baseball player. It should do well enough for warm-up practice!!
A Day Out - Parks, Coffee Shops, etc.
Still, the peace in the city wasn't quite finding its way into Lauren's heart. She still felt people staring while she sat in coffee shops, and changed her routes in parks fearing someone was following her. She did her best to drive off the bits of paranoia, even being on the guard didn't seem to quiet her.
She looked uneasy, anywhere she went. It actually made her stand out a bit more because of how she kept checking to see if she was being watched.

(who doesn't share pictures though? That's weird.)
Bad Dreams - Dream a little Dream with Me
In spite of her grades, the halls of Degrassi Community School are one of her favorite places. This school, this version of it is twisted... the colors are muted, being in these halls just make your skin crawl and you can't explain why. Lola's hiding in an empty classroom. Nothing about how uneasy this dreamscape makes Lola feels outshines one detail.
She's alone.

He took a quiet step in.
"Hey... you alright?"
no subject
Lola that's not helping. "Except not with an audience."

And she's usually alone here.

It wasn't the people, she's been in the school after everyone went home. It was more than that, deeper than that. Just a level of wrong that just permeated every surface. "I picked this room cause it doesn't mean anything to me."
no subject
He considered the options for a moment.
"Can you leave the school? Or are you stuck here for the dream?"
no subject
It's a whole empty city, an empty school she could rationalize. Make sense of. This dream went pretty far, but it didn't get better.
no subject
That was even creepier.
"So... you're just... alone..." Well, they were alone, but it was technically her dream. "Why do you think it's like that?"
no subject
Endless expanse of lonely.
"I dunno, I mean this is a nightmare. Nightmares are suppose to mess you up. Be everything you never want right?" She's had this nightmare, well... versions of it, since she was a kid. Different places, same feeling. "I've had this nightmare about the Quarantine before. Just a fun little bit of me."

Fairies Wear Boots - Park (Closed)
A park gave a lot of room to work and with someone else there she could be a little more reckless with them and not worry about having to get herself to the hospital. Which is good, she dressed for jumping really high (comfortable jeans, turtleneck, cute jacket, durable lucky sports bra). Waiting for a friend to come help her.
no subject
He looked around the park and found her without much trouble. He waved and ran over to her. "Hi! Got your boots?"
no subject
She slipped her backpack off and pulled out a pair of white leather boots. Mid-shin, covered in a decoration of silver filigree and pink gemstones. The heel and sole were reinforced with metal, and a small ventilated mesh ran portion that thanks to the heel didn't touch the floor. She offered one for him to look at, "It kinda, um, releases a blast from there and just... makes jumping easier."
Because jumping is always easier when you stand on an explosion, right?
no subject
"So you just put these on and try to jump?" She had mentioned before that she couldn't get them to work as she wanted all the time. Link wasn't sure how he could help, but at the very least he could be a spotter and help if anything went wrong. "Well, let's see what you've got." He hands the boot back.
no subject
"Sorta, I have to sorta want to?" Lola stopped, considered, no, that wasn't right. Explaining things was so hard, language was clearly a mistake, "I have to will it to happen. Like, focus, make it work. It might be easier to just show you."

in a tumble. But without injuring herself! So she had learned something. "I was going for shorter. And more control... and landing on my feet." Magic boots were a more exacting science than she was capable at.
no subject
"That was amazing!" Sure, the jump didn't turn out exactly how she wanted, but the fact that it worked was certainly something.
Link facepalmed. An idea popped into his head just now that should have come up far earlier. "I can't believe I didn't think of this before," he said, pulling out his paraglider.
Just don't ask where he pulls it out from. Think of his pouches as bags of holding."Maybe you can use this so you don't have such rough landings."
no subject
Fortunately it doesn't keep her busy very long, cause their first talk was about magic clothes that made swimsuits less sexy. She's going to assume his clothes do things. "Neat, this should help..."
Now the question is... how to jump without the paraglider getting in the way of her ascent. She's studying it and finally holds the thing behind her, flat, and goes for a big jump upwards. Once she was at the top she holds the thing up over her and let's it carry her down like she's Mary frickin' Poppins. Lola's smiling so wide at the view she's got. "This is amazing!"
no subject
There's a huge grin on Link's face as he looks up and waves at her. "I'm glad you like it," he shouts.
If the wind was strong enough, it could blow her a direction she might not want to go, but Link wouldn't lose sight of her. He'd give chase if he had to.
no subject
"Right, so... how exactly does the whole landing thing work?" This is fun but she's not really used to being this high off the ground. Because she's short.
no subject
Just in case, Link pulls out his Sheikah Slate and selects the stasis rune. If she loses her grip he can catch her with that before she hits the ground. Again, something he should have pulled out before Lola's first jump.
The wind wasn't too strong, so Lola should be more or less just be gently falling straight down, or maybe very slowly moving in the direction of the breeze.
no subject
On the other hand her arms are a little tired and maybe she should just drop. Which is taking all the fun out of wind in her hair (what little there is) and the view. She thinks a moment, internally shrugs, and closes up the glider.
She uses her boots to adjust how she's facing, ready to land and roll to dispel her momentum. Unless Link catches her, which would be cool, and unexpected.
no subject
"Are you ok?" He had never used stasis on a person, but it stopped monsters pretty well.
no subject
"That was you right, I have enough weird powers as it is." The fact that she had any powers was weird when it started, but that was months ago. "And if it was you, how did you do that? Was that a home thing or is that a here thing? And did it have to be yellow, yellow so isn't me."
no subject
"It's a part of the Slate I got back in Hyrule. I don't know why it makes things yellow. Sorry, I should have mentioned it before we started.
no subject
"And it makes things yellow and stops them?"
no subject
"Uh, yeah. You can also store up energy in whatever is in stasis. I could show you."
He looks around for something to demonstrate with, but since they were in a park, there wasn't a whole lot to choose from. There was a bench not too far away, and no one was using it...
He walks over to the bench and looks around one more time. There don't seem to be any people nearby, so Link aims his slate and places the bench under stasis. It glows yellow and Link pulls out Daruk's Boulder Breaker and wails on it. The bench starts to flash, and once time is up it shoots off into the distance like a rocket.
"Don't worry. I wasn't going to do that to you."
no subject
"Do you normally just go around knocking public benches into the sky, that could hurt someone!" Look, who goes around just breaking things!?
no subject
no subject
"Now, how the heck do you have a hammer-sword... whatever? That does not fit in a pocket." She thinks, "Or is it like your weird not at all cute swimming armor and magic?"
