Let's have an adventure
who: Jason Todd
what: Jason looking for clues to his informants death, and general day in the life stuff.
when: After New Years
where: An alleyway near one of the cheap bars, the bar, the library.
warnings: violence under one of the cut prompts, will update if more come.
A: Alleyway CW; cut for violence.
A second body had appeared in the same fashion as his old informant, and Jason was no longer sick as a dog. So, he was back in his red hood gear and running along the night streets down by the old bar he liked to hang out in. Following whispers and clues. There was a pattern and both victims had been part of the same outfit. A new group that didn't seem to be very talkative.
It was only when he got his hands on one of the guys he often saw with both dead men and had him cornered in the back of an alleyway. His gloves were already bloody from the number of times he had punched the idiot in the face. Maybe he did take a little to much after Bruce in that reguard but results were results.
"Answer the question!" He yelled through the helmet punching him again. Only, the man didn't answer, he lost consciousness as the Hood kicked the unconscious body. He was hitting walls at every turn. Moving quickly down the alleyway for his bike.
B Exploring - for Wally
It had been a couple weeks since Jason's flu had been passed and he was back on his feet and back to work. He had been shocked when he saw he was set to work with Wally West. He actively tried to avoid people he knew of from back home when he worked, but Wally turned out to be pretty cool. So it wasn't all that bad and it gave an excuse to talk to the man.
Looking over the map he walked along with him, in his guards uniform, the large guns hanging from his side, and a black knife in his belt. "Looks like we have to turn up here." He muttered, bored but he knew better than to complain after having found a body of a friend last time he complained about being bored at work. The trail they were on was heading towards the ruins.
C: The Dive bar
The evening had passed in its usual manner, quick and loud. Jason had already played about five games of pool, and a few hands of cards. He knew he needed to head home, it was already well after midnight, but he was waiting to see if anything unusual happened. He was tracking those that frequented the cheap run down bar. Looking to see if any of the regulars vanished... and tracking the underground business happening as well. Most of the patrons were already leaving as Jay sat at the bar pleasantly buzzed nursing a beer just taking in the whole feel of the place, not quiet ready to return to the communal floor.
D: The Library & Streets
Dressed in the red hoodie that Hana gave him for Christmas, and some black jeans over sneakers, Jason was standing before one of the shelves in the library looking over different books. Each was fiction, one was one he had read before, another was completely unknown to him but sounded interesting. While both were optional he still stood there awhile looking between the two.
Some time later, Jason headed out after having checked out both anyway, shoving them into his messenger bag and starting down the streets, The red and black umbrella, he had bought a few months back was lifted over his head as he walked quietly through the rain. While part of him felt silly carrying an umbrella, the rest of him didn't want to risk getting sick again so soon. So he walked his way back to the communal building.

Stepping out of the shadows to make himself visible, Nico kept his hands in his pockets as he stepped in front of Jason and his bike. As usual, his sword was hanging from his hip, but he didn't draw it. He wanted answers first.
"So this is what you've been doing on late nights," he said, eyeing the unconscious man nearby. "Want to tell me what's been going on?"
no subject
Maybe it was his mood, or the blood on his hands but when Nico stepped out in front of his bike, for once Jason's hackles didn't raise. If his eyes could be seen the hollow dead look would be plain as day. He was working and Red Hood was a deadlier type than the man he pretends to be around others.
"How about no." the doubled electronic voice spoke, the machinery cutting his accent and emotion from the tone. "This is my business. My case." He added, it was just that, another case.
no subject
"Your business? Death is mine, if I might remind you. If you think I haven't noticed the bodies lately, you're wrong," Nico replied, frowning. "We're friends. Let me help. You know I have abilities that no one else here has."

"Afraid of getting sick again?"
Jay might notice there was no Lion companion following Keith around today.

[ Loki appears as a bartender seemingly out of thin air, leaning forward as he pours himself a shot, but no one else seems to see him. He casts no shadow either; a lifelike illusion.
His attention remains on the drink that he knocks back. ]
I knew that if you weren't coming to Trixie, you'd disappear somewhere trashier. Harder to find, yet not.
Hello, Jason.
no subject
It would be both a lie, and an inaccuracy at the same time. I've been busy. Trashier has it's purposes, it's nothing personal.
[ He was used to talking to people no one else could so, so he didn't care if people looked his way. He just held his glass and looked to Loki.]
That said, hello Loki.
no subject
I wasn't angry as much as disappointed, you know. I believed you'd have faith in my better side, and then it sounded as if you knew me not at all; like I was a passer-by on the street.

Please don't think he's weird?! It's not exactly normal behavior but, well, it's better than touching a book that a lot of people have probably handled. ]

A; let me know if this is ok!
Okay, she had gone looking for him.
She worried about Jason, sometimes. He was never forthcoming with whatever was on his mind and she knew his tendency to deflect now and then. Usually she didn't mind; she did some of it, herself, but ever since they had shared memories Hana couldn't help but wonder what darker sorts of demons Jason always kept inside, underneath all the layers of leather and black clothing and witty banter and flirtation. Days without any word from him were enough to spur her into action, into coming out one night to try and find him in the bars she knew he liked to frequent.
She found his bike, first.
Her mech had been left elsewhere as Hana finished her search on foot - if she needed it, she could always call it and have it come to her. But a bright pink mech she knew wouldn't be conducive to Jason's style so she'd left it on some rooftop somewhere. So when Jason would find her waiting at his bike, she was by herself, leaning against one of the walls in the alleyway with her arms folded watching as he punched a wall - and she was wearing the red jacket he'd given her for Christmas. ]
What the hell are you doing, Red?
no subject
The man who stepped out of the alleyway looked a lot like the action figure from the memory. gray clothing, the top looking more like body armor with a bright red bat on it. his normal brown leather jacket hanging open over it, gun holsters at his side and a bright red helmet hiding his face. Anyone who really knew Jason would easily be able to tell who the figure was. The jacket didn't help at all.
He was flexing his fingers when he heard Hana's voice, instinctively reaching for his guns, but stopped when he saw her. She was far to beautiful under the street lights, even better he didn't need to worry about her well being. She was a badass all of her own. He took a second to let his thoughts collect as he spoke, his voice coming out almost robotic, the accent robbed of him and the tone doubled, meant to hide him away. ]
Working. What else, Bunny?
[ he'd never used anything but her name, which for him was odd, but he wasn't about to say her name when he was in his work clothes. There was blood slashed on the jacket and elsewhere but it was only visible on the jacket. ]
Did you seriously come down here to find me?
no subject
Hana tried not to twitch when she saw him instinctively reach for his guns - it only made sense given the situation, and her reaching for her own pistol that was holstered behind her wouldn't have helped de-escalate things at all, and that was what she was trying to do. So she gave him all the time he needed to collect himself after her sudden appearance in the middle of what clearly was a tense encounter. Her brow furrowed and her head tilted, though, at the sound of his voice. She'd found that Jason always spoke with some degree of detachment to his voice but this - was different. This was the Red Hood.
She wasn't going to comment on 'Bunny.'
Instead she was going to give him a very evident once-over look when he got closer finally, noting the blood on his jacket. ]
Yeah. I got worried.
[ She wasn't even going to dance around that, at this point. ]
What did that guy have that you needed?

E: Jason's place | I'm here to snoop, bro
Jason, last Tim saw, had been drinking in a dive bar with his... friend. With any luck that might mean Tim had the whole night to look. He climbed up to the second story and disarmed the usual traps before breaking into Jason's garage loft window. He took a flashlight out and did a sweep for traps- especially trip wires.
Satisfied he wasn't about to spend an evening trussed up by his ankles, Tim started searching. The bedroom didn't yield too much- booze, ammo, and some... magazines that he very carefully put back in place. The kitchen did have more fresh food than Tim expected, but nothing incriminating. The bathroom was stocked up to Bat standards, so this Jason had had a similar training. That left... the closet and the bookcase. He poked around through the closet first, going through a surprising amount of leather, before he hit--- a false wall.
"What's that, Lassie, skeletons in the closet?" Tim whispered softly to nobody in particular as he pushed into a hidden room.
no subject
The back of the wall slides, a switch to the side. that lights the room up if switched on. It was clearly a converted second bedroom. Once inside it was easy to see there was a second door in, that was right in line where the bookself was on the other wall coming into the apartment. A swivvel chair on the hard wood floor, and a old table for a desk. There were notebooks laying around, one said Books, one said 'Murders' the other said 'Drug market' Because these were his real hobbies. A cork board had pictures of dismembered and burned bodies, two to be exact. 'Puzzle and Unknown friend' written in his fancy penmenship with each body.
A can was also on the edge of the table...filled with ashes. The drawers mostly had supplies and more ammo and weapons. A few cheap lighters and a laptop in the biggest drawer.
Though Tim was wrong, the friend Jason had been with was an informant. And he was already making his way home. Parking in the garage as he shut the car off, and got out. He didn't have the place rigged enough to know anyone had broken in yet, but he was making his way upstairs.
no subject
He heard the engine downstairs just as he set the files down. That was a lot sooner than he'd thought. Or maybe Jason had a housemate. No time to look into the laptop, but maybe enough to clean up a little.
He hid the obvious signs of entry first, then found a nice shadowy spot to lurk.

He nods, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he does, in acknowledgment of the upcoming turn. ]
We gotta be almost there, don't we? It feels like we've been walking forever. [ Who knows how long it's really been. ]
no subject
Yeah, not far off, I mean if you want to run ahead you can. I won't stop you, I doubt this is worth our time anyway, given its just a retrieval.

Trixie - Semi-closed to Loki
He was so good at burning bridges. It should be on a skill set list.
But Loki was not one he wanted to lose, so, he made sure to take a night off since he had no idea what his mood would be afterwards, and made his way to Trixie. Wearing a red hoodie, sneakers and loose fitting jeans, not his normal look, nor was the new undercut he had gotten days before. He had the messenger bag over his shoulder but this time it didn't have his hood or books in it but his case file. He figured the best way to clear the air was to just show Loki what he had been up to. So, he made his way to bar and ordered the cheapest beer he could and sat waiting. Never quite sure if he should ask someone to get Loki or just wait, so, waiting it was.
Kent House - Closed to Jon, and Batfam (Possibly Wally)
When morning came he had at some point in the night slid off the couch and was asleep face down onthe floor with one of the throw pillows under his head. His phone was up on the couch the alarm buzzing away as he had intended to be up already.
no subject
You promised him breakfast, Todd, it was the only reason he allowed you in his house. Okay, yes, the deed has Jon's name on it, but Damian is of the unquestionable belief that he runs this joint.
Anyway, back to Todd. He walks over to the man and opens his water bottle, before slowly spilling it out over his head.]
