a. winter rescue
[ Hana gears up to embark on a rescue operation as soon as the call to action goes out. She knows she can help if she's in her mech, either by carrying any injured (although capacity is limited on her mech that's more like a mobile suit of armor than a vehicle for transport) or, more importantly, by helping clear out paths that might be blocked from heavy snowfall and associated mishaps. It helps, too, that her mech is as bright pink as a mech can possibly be - so she can be a beacon for any who are lost, too.
An additional container is attached to her mech, too, carrying with her supplies like blankets and hand warmers that may be in immediate need for the lost cadets. At the gates that lead out from the Inner City out to its abandoned parts beyond the wall, Hana waits for the party to gather also wearing cold-weather gear, because her mech's cockpit isn't entirely enclosed. She just hopes this doesn't have her relapsing into the illness she'd just managed to kick. ]
Ready to go? Those poor kids are waiting for us, we have to get to them.
b. santa baby d.va
[ On the days leading up to the holidays (or at least, the holidays that she celebrates where she's from, like Christmas), Hana works hard on her streaming channel and on social media to publicize and announce a fundraising-slash-donation drive that she's decided to put on. Plenty of people have come and gone around here in the Quarantine, but not everyone has the luxury of being able to build such wonderful networks of support as someone like Hana has with the people around her - there are refugees from all over the place and not all of them fare as well.
So on the appointed day of her drive, Hana can be found out on one of the town squares around the city, with her ever-pink mech wrapped in lights and holding an open burlap sack already somewhat-full of things like toys and supplies, and D.Va herself is dressed for the festive mood. Her mech projects a message holographically, reading: HAPPY HOLID.VA DONATION DRIVE! as she's calling out to passersby: ]
Let's all remember how fortunate we are and give something to help people who aren't! Toys or books or anything else for the kids, or families, anything is appreciated! Thank you!
c. christmas gifts! (for close cr)
[ Finally, come Christmas-time, if you're rather close with Hana (see the list below!) chances are she'll have left a package at your doorstep at some point in the middle of the night - really taking this Santa D.Va thing seriously - for you to find on Christmas morning.
- Genji - a little cherry blossom bonsai tree and a new frame for his picture of him and Hanzo
- Gladio - a cup noodle pillow and his very own bundle of fancy soaps
- Shiro - a constellation quilt, which also an actual accurate star map for the part of space theyâre in, and a black beanie with kitty ears
- Keith - a red beanie with kitty ears (to match Shiroâs), and some paw mittens
- Jason - red motorcycle gloves and also a red hoodie because⌠get it hahaha
- Cisco - a buncha video games and a red dragon kigurumi
- Taako - a cake stand with bunnies and a unicorn kigurumi with a silver horn
- Magnus - a three wolf moon shirt
- Xârhun - a stylinâ red jacket and this book
- Shigeru - a new sketchbook
- Star-Lord - tickets to a local concert to take Star-Lady to
- Matsuno brothers - a cute clock for their new house and a âThis is Our Get Along Shirtâ shirt big enough for three entire whole-ass Matsuno-sized people
- Reaper - just a whole load of spicy, spicy kimchi
- Also all of them get an autographed polaroid picture of D.Va, you're welcome.
She doesn't expect anything in return (okay maybe she is, a little - or a lot), but she's certainly amenable to receiving messages of thanks via text or call or in person or however else. ]

[ And he says it with an air of exasperation. ]
I mentioned it was complicated, right? Because, like, it was super complicated. And it's still kind of complicated. But, you know.
[ His helpless sort of shrug goes hidden, since this is a phone call. ]
We've been working on it. [ And his voice softens, warming with a small little smile when he glances over, spotting the blanket Gamora had picked up from the festival, folded neatly and draped over the back of the couch in their shared apartment. ] I think we're cool now.

But when his voice softens and warms, she can't help but smile, too. For a dude who has a call-sign like Star-Lord (which, okay, honestly? She thinks it's a really cool call-sign?) he sure seems a lot like a Dork-Lord. Or Star-Dork. Hmm... ]
Well! I'm glad it worked out. Better late than never, right? Took you long enough but now you guys can have a first official date together at the concert!
You're welcome.

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it.
What about you, then? Anything you want for Christmas?
[ A beat. ]
...Late-Christmas?

[ she says, very much in the way that says get me something you nerd ]
I dunno, maybe something for Pacchan?

Technically, thatâs a gift for your dog, not for you.

How about some music, then? I have a friend who keeps making reference to old school stuff and I can never get him. Wanna help me out?

He hums thoughtfully – and there's something earnest about the sound, for once; not one of those overblown things when he's pretending to think before offering the obvious answer.
But first— ]
Define "old school."
[ Because if he remembers right, Hana might actually be from, like, the future, relative to him. So for all Peter knows, "old school" could mean "early 2000s," which means he's at just as much of a loss as she is. ]
no subject
[ Honestly that's, like, almost a hundred years into the past for her, but in spite of appearances, Hana actually enjoys a lot of old stuff like that. ]
I'm from the year 2076, does that help put things into perspective?

Donkey Kong was old school, even for Peter. He remembers that guy adorning old, beat up machines in bowling alleys and rundown arcades (alas, his family couldn't afford an NES). But with the helpful inclusion of when she came from (and how weird is that, to specify a when instead of a where?), he nods a little. ]
You got any hints? Like, remember any of the stuff your friend references? Any kind of music you're already partial to?
no subject
[ God what even is like half the stuff Jason mentions to her? ]
Well, we watched Die Hard last night on Christmas Eve? I guess he's into rock and that kind of stuff, he drives around a motorcycle so I guess he has to stick to that edgy aesthetic. Personally, I like upbeat pop a lot more!

(It didnât work.) ]
Maybe youâd like Pat Benatar, then. And the Runaways. Oh, and Heart. And youâd probably like some stuff from the disco era—
[ He says all of this thoughtfully, like heâs not really expecting Hana to follow along. But at length, he nods a little to himself. ]
Okay. Got it. Iâll curate some stuff for you.
