[Eichi laughs, and the second Yuuri is close enough, Eichi will grab for his hand and spin him into a little dance.] It was my show. Yumenosaki's top idol has only improved, against all odds. Ah, but I'm no longer "Yumenosaki's top idol," am I? Since I should be graduated by now... I'm an entertainer, one step closer to becoming a true idol. ♪
no subject
Eichi! [He stops, grabbing the idol by his shoulders, looking thoroughly put out.] You had a show here and you didn't tell me?
no subject
It was amaaaazing. I had to be sure that my performances would go over well in a setting like a night club, you know? If I invited Yuuri only to be booed off the stage, I'd never be able to recover.
no subject
[And then he pauses and seems to realize what he's actually saying and suddenly gasps, waving his hands in front of him like he can dispel his words.] Ah! Th-that's not to say I think it would've happened! I just meant... if it did...
no subject
[What does he DO with all of this excitement? His body certainly doesn't know what to do, and after the next little spin he does, he wobbles, bringing a hand to his forehead. Ah, he's getting so tired.]
Like this, it's almost like I'm back home. Do you know how that feels?
no subject
[He sees that wobble--and tenses up, just in case Eichi needs someone to steady him.]
Feeling like you're almost back home, you mean?
no subject
[Naturally. But he notices that Yuuri has tensed, and moves in to lean against his shoulder, tired.] Do you mind if I lean against you? [He doesn't want to fall over.]
That is what I meant, though, yes. That sort of rush, the feeling of being back in something that you thought would be lost forever.
no subject
[He shifts almost immediately, offering himself as a support for his friend.]
...it was like that the first time I got to skate again, on the Eluvio. It took a while for the rink to be built. [He says this all softly.] When I got back on the ice, though, for a second I could pretend I was still back home practicing.
no subject
[About the whole prank thing, he means. Eichi doesn't usually show guilt or worry like this, but it flashes for a brief second before he waves it away, leaning more completely against Yuuri with a heavy sigh.]
It's like that. Beyond that, even if I think that I can never return to those friends and dear enemies of mine who brought me to where I am today, I want to carry what an "idol" is onward and show whatever world I'm in this enjoyment. Even if it's fleeting... For as long as I have.
no subject
Mm. [Eichi's words resonate with him. Not surprising, considering what they've been through together.] It was like that for us, too. So many people on the Eluvio hadn't heard of figure skating before, Viktor and I couldn't help but want to show them what it was like.
[Yuuri nudges him gently, careful not to shift Eichi too much.] I think it's a good goal to have. Maybe I'll even help spread your music around if I can.
no subject
[His voice is a little softer after that nudge, but he still leans against him fully. And whether silence keeps passing or Yuuri tries to speak up again, he'll find that Eichi is drifting off to sleep, just like this. He's too relaxed and lost in thinking about his idol career and his dreams.]
no subject
Eichi? Do you have any recordings of your songs already?
no subject
[His voice is incredibly soft, stirred awake but still not fully there. He doesn't even open his eyes as he takes a slow breath, relaxed even while standing like this. Ah, maybe they should move somewhere and sit, but that takes effort too...]
No, I don't.
no subject
[That's one way to get the music out there, at least! And ah, Yuuri's just starting to wonder if they should move somewhere so Eichi can rest properly, too...]
no subject
Thank you, Yuuri. I'll look into it quickly.
no subject
That's what friends do. [He says quietly instead of letting any of his other frenzied thoughts escape.
After a pause, he adds--] You look like you're about to fall asleep on your feet. Maybe we should get you back to your apartment so you can rest.
no subject
[He normally doesn't like relying on people for this, but he really will fall over if he doesn't, and Yuuri is nice enough that he doesn't have to worry about any sort of debt. He knows that.]
Next time, you can see me perform live, as well.
no subject
I'm holding you to that, you know. [Yuuri tells him, smiling, as he takes Eichi's weight and helps his friend back inside.] I can't really support you at concerts if you won't even tell me when you're having one.
no subject
[He had to try it alone... Ah, he's still so tired. If Yuuri is kind enough to help him all the way to his bed, he'll collapse into it so heavily that he doesn't even want to move to get comfortable.]
no subject
He isn't even angry, really. As disappointed as he is that he'd missed Eichi's performance, Yuuri understands why Eichi hadn't invited him. Disappointing friends is much harder to swallow than disappointing strangers.
Yuuri perches carefully on the edge of the bed, one hand lightly touching Eichi's shoulder before pulling away.] You're a precious friend to me, too.
no subject
Thank you, Yuuri. [What else can he say to that? He doesn't deserve a friend like this. Not after everything he's done. Not after who he is... And yet, here's Yuuri.]
I've been thinking for some time, you know, about you and Victor and my reaction to seeing you again. I felt as though I'd been abandoned, even if it was no choice of yours, and I worried that I'd be forgotten or left behind even upon seeing you again. By playing that prank on Victor, I wonder if I even pushed him away a little...
I hope I haven't caused either of you any trouble.
no subject
Viktor--he was just surprised by the prank. I don't think he's still angry about it, you know. [Yuuri tilts his head, frowning down at Eichi.]
You're not... staying away because of that, are you?

Before he leaves, Yuuri makes sure Eichi's sufficiently covered with the blanket. The door closes with a quiet click behind him.]
