A new set of pets; open

[ Shigeru was never one to really keep pets, his job never allowed for such things, and besides pets back home weren’t exactly cute or cuddle like some of the ones he’s seen here. Dogs and cats were cute but Shigeru has his eye on something else…

So during the harvest festivals round up of strange and normal critters Shigeru will find himself particularly drawn to what appears to be a snake with…eight legs?! Shigeru looks totally in love with it though as he lets the snake…spider crawl up his arm and wrap around his neck like a scarf. He might laugh a little as the things tongue tickles his cheek before petting it some more as he moves on to what appears to be a tortoise of some kind. But despite its looks it’s still not as freaky as the spider snake, which will stare at whoever runs into Shigeru, but it'll just tilt its head and flick its tongue in and out before it looks away. He’ll probably adopt both of them by the end of the day and you can see him walking happily with his questionably "cute" pets in tow. ]

A question for the masses

I’ve been meaning to ask this for a while now. But…would anyone be interested in learning sign language? Or not even that but any other language from different worlds. I think it would a nice way to bond and to learn more about each other if we had a meeting once every week to do just that.

[ And, you know, it would help him have an easier time of communicating. ]

If enough people want to maybe we can meet in the library and have a meeting there!

A book to test wills; open

[ The book he had taken home has long since been left on the counter top in his kitchen. He had been to library various times and to no avail he came home empty hand each time. So he had put it out of his mind and yet…the paranoia and growing anger within him didn’t abate even a little. He certainly woke up grumpy today and anyone who encounters him today will definitely get some of it. He’ll be going about his usual day, albeit a bit more on edge than usual. He’s a bit jittery than usual and people can definitely notice that. Anyone who sneaks up on him or startles him in anyway will get an uncharacteristic glare from him however. But more importantly if you get a glimpse of his drawing pad there’s a strange symbol drawn multiple times in his pad. Along with it is a strange, what appears to be language, scribbled around the paper as well. ]

Closed to Dodger;

[ He never really knows where to find the other man. Often he’ll just send a text to him to make sure he’s okay so that’s what he’ll go with for now. ]

Is everything okay today? Do you…want to go out somewhere?

[ Going on a nice date might help him relax a little at least.. ]

Closed to Genji;

I wanted to know if you wanted to stop by? Maybe we could practice some sign language if you’d like?

[ An innocent enough text. Of course when Genji gets there it’ll be a different story to how Shigeru acts. But for now he’s decidedly calm and he’s been missing the other’s company, so maybe Genji’s presence can get him to relax...even if just for a little while. ]

Closed to Reaper;

I was wondering if you wanted to meet for...a first examination? We could also get started on the healing process too if you'd like!

[ He's not sure how willing Reaper will be to it. So maybe for now just a preliminary examine would be good. ]

[ Genji sucks in a breath as he does so, gripping his hip a little tighter. Oh, he definitely needs to get to the bottom of this quickly... without having to fight or injure him, hopefully. That's the one thing Genji absolutely doesn't want to do.

So he continues to play along a little, at least for now. He rubs his thumb against his hip, trying to not look so alarmed. ] Of course I want you, Shigeru. [ The best performance was always one just slightly adjacent to the truth, after all. ] It's just— so sudden. I was thinking of having it be special. Romantic.

[ The synthetic muscle underneath his pants ripples as his hand goes over his thigh. ] I do tend to to that, especially when it comes to you.

[ If he can somehow get up off this couch check things... ]

[ He feels that muscle twitch and that gets a smile from him. But at the mentioning of being romantic. Ah, well, that does cause Shigeru to pause. Almost as if he's fighting with himself he'll bring a hand to his head and just shake it, as if trying to throw off something.

But if Genji wants romantic then he can give him that. He'll finally get off the other man then, stiffly almost as if he doesn't want to. But he'll relinquish his position, hoping Genji doesn't leave as he does so. If he did Shigeru had ways of keeping him here regardless. ]

I see. Then maybe we should do something like that.

[ But, oh, he had forgotten the tea hadn't he? ]

I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere.

[ He'll proceed to go into the kitchen and that'll be Genji's chance to search the living room. There's a bookshelf filled with tones of different books but there's one in particular that has a torn up spine and otherwise grimy appearance to it. It almost...exudes a sort of energy as well and Genji might feel it if he looks too long at it. It'll start to make him angry, jealous, wanting to hurt anyone around him. That's the book in question and he better be quick with destroying it before it starts to affect him too. ]

[ He takes note of his hand on his head, filing it away. It wasn't typical of Shigeru's body language... hm.

But he gives an easy little smile when Shigeru shifts off of him. ] Much better than just right here on the couch, yeah?

[ Once he's in the kitchen, Genji lets out a sigh and puts a hand to his chest to steady himself. Goodness. This was not what he expected when he showed up, so he's still reeling from it a touch. He stands up quickly and starts to search the room for anything odd—

And notices the book after a moment. It's grimy, tattered state doesn't match the rest of the books nor does it seem like something Shigeru would want on his person in the first place...

And after staring at it a moment, he feels some sort of— pull? A pressure hits his head and he looks away, taking a deep breath, thinking of his Master's Omnic orbs. Yes, it has to be that.

Genji plots as he stands there, waiting. ]

[ Shigeru thinks otherwise but he knows Genji is different from Dodger. He knows that while the other man is all for the dominance and roughness of it, Genji was quite different but he still had to try, right?

At least when he comes back with their food and tea the other is still there. ]

Is something wrong? [ A robotic voice will ask cutting through the silence as Shigeru stands there a bit curiously. ]

[ Genji has no desire for dominance in any facet of his life anymore, which is part of why this has been so bewildering. He's trying to figure out what could be done with this book... it had to be destroyed, somehow. If it wasn't, it could just influence another person and Genji can't allow that. He only has the shurikens in his arms when it comes to weapons, and he doesn't want to risk touching it too much. Hm...

When he hears Shigeru's device, he turns to look at him. Ah, his chest squeezes a little painfully now that he isn't quite so ruffled. He hopes he can resolve this.

But he gets an idea. ] Everything's fine. I was just wondering if you had any candles...?

Candles?

[ He looks surprised and if anything a bit suspicious. But Shigeru will actually go to retrieve one. He has them in supply in case of a power outage or something like that, but he'll walk closer towards Genji before stopping to look at him. ]

What are you going to use them for?

[ He hates that he's having to put on an act, but it's for the best. Genji moves closer to him and rests a hand on his hip, lowering his eyelids a little. His voice is a little husky when he speaks. ] I said it should be romantic, right? Why not have some mood lighting?

[ Ugh, what a line. He holds a hand out for the candle (and matches, which is the most important part.) ]

[ Oh, well, Shigeru can get on board with that. He'll touch Genji's face gently, almost like the normal Shigeru would do, as he plants another gentle kiss to Genji's lips moving himself closer to the other.

He does nod silently in response. That sounds good to him honestly, he can't complain with that logic too much. So Shigeru will give him the matches after handing over the candle. ]

[flowlikewater]

[ Genji lets him, then kisses at his cheekbone lightly as he accepts the matches. Now, he can't raise suspicion by looking like he's in a rush... and he brought out the tea and food. ] I'd hate for the tea to get cold. Shall we have some first?

[ He slips the matches into the pocket of the sweater he's wearing before going to pour him a cup of tea. ]

[ Shigeru smiles happily at that kiss, brief as it is. It's almost like he's back to normal but when they finally sit down to tea Shigeru is just going to cuddle up close to Genji as if he doesn't want to relinquish his his touch of the other.

His hand will trail up Genji's arm lazily and he'll just eye him with a very prominent look of love in his eyes. ]

Did you want to still do some signing after this? Or maybe I could feed you some of these snacks? They're Japanese. I got them because I know you might like them. I wasn't sure want to get but these dango seemed really good.

[ He might reach over to pluck one off the plate before bringing it slowly towards Genji's mouth. Shigeru please stop... ]

[ This is a level of pampering Genji doesn't quite know what to do with. 'Overwhelming' is definitely a word to describe it. But he keeps his expression calm, and the look of affection in his eyes isn't faked at least. Hopefully, soon, everything will be back to normal.

He brushes a hand against Shigeru's knee before eyeing the food coming towards his mouth. Oh goodness. He does lean in and take a bite, trying not to flush. ]

It doesn't matter to me what we do, as long as we're spending time together. Right?

[ Shigeru is very happy right now, and it shows as he snuggles against Genji. He'll nod silently as he looks back at the man, nothing but love and adoration in his eyes. It's mostly the heightened influence and need to be near Genji due to the book, but these feelings are stemming from Shigeru's own inner thoughts. ]

Yes. As long as you're here with me I don't care what we do.

[flowlikewater]

[ The look in his eyes makes Genji's chest squeeze tight for a moment. If only Shigeru was acting like himself, he'd sweep all the food away and pull him close.

But he can't get lost in his thoughts, he needs to follow through with his plans. Pining silently, he reaches for Shigeru's hand and kisses the back of it gently. He dips his voice down before he speaks again. ]

I know you made all of this for me, but I fear I'm growing impatient. [ He raises a rough brow, smiling. ] You are just so... distracting.

[ He's going to have to apologize so much for these cheesy lines... ]

[ If they are cheesy Shigeru doesn't say. He actually leans in to kiss Genji again after he says that. ]

Then I'm fine with anything else you wanted to do.

[ He sure is leaning a bit closer now. ]
