[ Considering she and the others just finished dealing with a literal god (small "g"), suspension of disbelief isn't going to be too much of a challenge for her. ]

I think I can handle that.

[ She sips at her drink, giving a vague wave of her hand to encourage Taako to continue. ]

Uh, basically there's this cosmic kinda horror-terror that consumes worlds, taking them over and basically sucking the life outta them. [Taako waves a hand, casting minor illusion to create little threads of white light.] Every world has what we call bonds, the links between people, between things, gravity and electricity, all'a that shit is built on bonds. The Hunger, that's what consumed our world, it takes those bonds into itself to get stronger.

[He closes his hand, the fake-bonds disappearing.]

We found a way to use those bonds to power a ship, that's how we escaped, but it's been chasing us for a while, consuming the realities behind us.

[ Gamora listens, her expression unreadable as she takes in Taako's story. The loss of a world is so familiar, in the worst way, but she doesn't comment on how well she can understand such a thing.

Instead, she looks thoughtful before speaking again. ]

So it's specifically searching for you?

[He gives a little nod, taking a sip of his drink before answering properly.]

There's this uh, object, that we call the light. It's what was used to shape the universe and the Hunger needs it, so it gets kinda mad when we take it.

[That's why they're being hunted, why John tried so hard to ensure his scouts killed the Starblaster crew.]

[ She nods, rubbing her thumb across the lip of her glass. ]

You said it follows you between realities. Do you think it's possible it may follow you here?

[spellslots]

Only if the light shows up, and if that happens I... might have a way to hide it.

[It could plunge the world war but there aren't always perfect solutions to problems like these.]
