I would hardly dub these as literature. Though I will grant that they are enjoyably worded smut.

Just because they're called literature doesn't necessarily make them good. [ They're terrible, really. He raises his brows and tips his head in a half nod. ] Smut works, too. Think that counts as a literary genre?

[ Loki purses his lips as he considers this with a modicum of seriousness. ]

Perhaps? It is usually a shameful one. Rarely do I see such things in public.

Really? [ Jim shoots an eyebrow curiously. ] You mean in Asgard, or your version of Earth?

It has been a long time since I've walked among mortals, so I cannot speak for their current state.

[ He may have been on Earth for a few days, but that's hardly long enough to know what they're like. As for Asgard . . . ]

Asgard's imagination rarely extends this . . . far.

[ He nods. ] Well, I wouldn't say it's shameful where I come from, but these aren't usually public domain. Adults can easily get them if they want to. I can appreciate the theme at times, but usually written with more... taste.

[ Which is funny considering Jim's own rather... let's say eclectic track record. ]

Really? Well, that's a surprise. Considering some of the myths the Norsemen wrote about you.

[ Loki shrugs loosely. He's an aberration among the people of Asgard. Anyone would have been able to spot that and his skill set certainly spoke volumes to the masses. Not that it bothers him. Loki still finds the old stories charming and antiquated. He'll never be regarded as a positive influence, but no one can say he was ever boring. ]

We let their imaginations wander. It was a precocious time for them.

[ Jim honestly couldn't care any less about positive or negative influences, especially coming from myths and legends. He'd rather build an opinion for himself. Granted, he doesn't know this Loki, nor would he say that he likes or even trusts him at all, but he's willing to keep an open mind.

He lets out a soft laugh at that, grinning in amusement. ] Of course. Well, it does make for some fascinating conversations in my time, I'll give you that. And it's prime teasing material, if you don't mind me saying so.

[ Loki tilts his head in a mocking half-bow. ]

I endeavor to live up to my title.

Well, the other one does, at least. You... guess I'll find out sooner or later.
