[Open] Come away little light
who: Rey and OTA
what: Rey coming to the conclusion she would be here for sometime and CR building.
when: 9/16--9/20
where: Around town
warnings: None, will be updated as needed.
In the beginning, Rey was dead set on finding a way home. She wanted--no, needed to find a way back home. There were things she had to do. She had to find Luke, she had to give him his lightsaber and...hopefully, he would train her. Given her connection to the Force, she would need to be trained. There would come a time when she would face Kylo Ren again, and she had to be prepared, but now that she was stuck in this place. What would she do?
It had been a week or two since she came via portal to this place. A place that made no sense to her and one she wasn't willing to trust. Some viewed it as a second chance, a new home for themselves. While that was fine for them, she couldn't stay, but she couldn't leave either. Was this part of the Force? Obi-Wan said she had to learn to trust in it. The Force could be confusing, but there had to a be a reason behind it, right? Rey was contemplating that idea, letting it circle around in her head as she left the Communal Hall. If she was meant to be here, then maybe it was time for her to start looking for work?
She went into the city, her eyes flickering down to her phone every now and then. There were times when she was searching through it and the posts on the network, looking for answers..none came. If she was going to find work...what would she do? Jim had suggested she join the Perimeter Guard, but could she? She didn't exactly trust how things were being run here...but what other choice did she have?
Rey wasn't paying too much attention to where she was going until she stopped realizing she was at the park. She took a seat on a park bench and mentally ran through her options and what she would need to do to live in this new place.

"Just a little over six months now. Feels like it's gone very fast and hardly at all at the same time." When he'd first arrived, Ivar had been a teenager with a major attitude and anger issues, mad at the world, and ready to burn it down because of that. Over the course of six months, while his anger hadn't disappeared, it had begun to lessen, due to the presence of friends and parental figures. The birth of his daughter had brought out a whole new side to the Viking, one full of love that he thought he'd never possess.

"More than loyal, they seem very fond of you."
But, he had been here six months. Interesting...she couldn't imagine her being on this moon for that long. Then again, when she came to live on Jakku, she thought her family would be back for her within a few nights, which turned into weeks, then months, and then years.
"I...arrived, you could say, a week or so ago.." Still so new and still trying to adjust and wrap her head around things.
no subject
"One week? I hope you had a better adjustment period than I did." At least Rey would be used to things like the electric light. Ivar had come from a very far back time of Earth's history, so he'd truly been a temporal fish out of water.
Noticing that Skinfaxi was getting something that he wasn't, Sprig sat up, nudging Rey insistently. "Phan, Phantump!" He said. It was clear the little glutton wanted some sugar cubes too.
Ivar smiled. "I think he wants you to give it to him. Do you mind?" He held out the bag to Rey.
no subject
"Depends on what you mean by 'better.' There are some things that are similar here but so different. " Like how common electricity was but traveling to other planets wasn't.
When Ivar took out the sugar cubes, Rey didn't pay too much attention until her new little friend wanted some. She let out a soft chuckle.
"No I wouldn't. Just give him one?" She asked, taking a sugar cube from Ivar, and then passing it to Sprig.

"Just one. I've no idea if a haunted tree stump can get fat, but I'd prefer not to test the theory out." Sprig grabbed a hold of it with his wispy little hands and munched on it happily, his light blue eyes wrinkling up in happiness.

"The idea that other people are from different time periods, still trying to come to grips with that. " among other things like people from the past from her own world. Plus, the fact she was here before....
"Think I'm doing well, at least I have a place to stay. " and not looking for one, thank goodness.
She watched as Sprig munched away on his sugar cube. Something so simple to make him happy. The idea of him getting fatter was a bit funny.
"Maybe instead of fat, he'll grow into a tree!?" She had no idea, she was only guessing. She noticed how blue Sprig's eyes were in comparison to Ivar's...still beautiful and striking.

"As long as you have food and shelter, you're doing alright." It was the little things in life that one had to be thankful for.
He glances at Sprig, who licks around the edges of his mouth with quite a large tongue in comparison with the rest of his face, getting any small traces of the sugar cube he might have missed. "Now there's an idea. It's said they can evolve into different forms, but I don't know what Phantumps turn into. I'll have to ask the Pokemon Professor." He really needed to go to more of Professor Sycamore's classes so that he could properly care for his creatures.

"I can't say what time period I'm from, but...we have at least running water, and a few other things. Some say futuristic given we can travel from one area to another very quickly." No need to say star system just yet. But wow, he came form such a long time ago.
Now her puzzled features only deepen. These creatures could...evolve? Grow?
"I didn't know that was possible. I'd assumed he'd grow just...bigger in size?" If that made sense, but the little creature was adorable, trying to lick away any remaining bits of sugar on its mouth.

Getting back to the topic of the Pokemon, he tapped Skinfaxi on his muzzle. "They do grow in size. Skinfaxi here was only a little foal this big--" He shows off the size with his hand, barely at his head height sitting down as he is in the wheelchair. "--when I first got him. They grow, but apparently, they can also evolve, changing shape, and becoming more powerful."
no subject
As for Pokemon, well, she was surprised to learn they could 'evolve' into a different shape or size.
"There is nothing like that from where I'm from. I suppose the closest thing would be a droid..you built it and then you can add onto it later on, but it doesn't do it on its own." She thought of BB-8 and then R2, missing both of them.
