[Open] Come away little light
who: Rey and OTA
what: Rey coming to the conclusion she would be here for sometime and CR building.
when: 9/16--9/20
where: Around town
warnings: None, will be updated as needed.
In the beginning, Rey was dead set on finding a way home. She wanted--no, needed to find a way back home. There were things she had to do. She had to find Luke, she had to give him his lightsaber and...hopefully, he would train her. Given her connection to the Force, she would need to be trained. There would come a time when she would face Kylo Ren again, and she had to be prepared, but now that she was stuck in this place. What would she do?
It had been a week or two since she came via portal to this place. A place that made no sense to her and one she wasn't willing to trust. Some viewed it as a second chance, a new home for themselves. While that was fine for them, she couldn't stay, but she couldn't leave either. Was this part of the Force? Obi-Wan said she had to learn to trust in it. The Force could be confusing, but there had to a be a reason behind it, right? Rey was contemplating that idea, letting it circle around in her head as she left the Communal Hall. If she was meant to be here, then maybe it was time for her to start looking for work?
She went into the city, her eyes flickering down to her phone every now and then. There were times when she was searching through it and the posts on the network, looking for answers..none came. If she was going to find work...what would she do? Jim had suggested she join the Perimeter Guard, but could she? She didn't exactly trust how things were being run here...but what other choice did she have?
Rey wasn't paying too much attention to where she was going until she stopped realizing she was at the park. She took a seat on a park bench and mentally ran through her options and what she would need to do to live in this new place.

He laughs, half at himself, a touch of his embarrassment and confusion coming out in it. ]
I haven't... had business partners ever before, actually. I mean, coworkers, I guess- is that... the same thing? You know what, forget it.
[ Cisco is pretty much in agreement on the whole running and hiding thing, but the fact that Rey talks about it in the context of living for another day is just another illuminating piece of the puzzle. He watches her pull out her phone and struggle with it, not saying anything for a few moments until it's clear she's not struggling to remember instructions told her, but instead just doesn't know what she's doing at all. Carefully, he says: ]
Here, lemme show you.
[ Rather than take her phone out of her hands, which would be pretty rude, Cisco just leans over closer with his own, turning the screen so she can see as he taps through, slowly and deliberately, to the settings and the correct tab to find his phone number. He's had a lot of practice by now, teaching people how to use their phones, and it comes to him easily. ]
Your setup should be the same, try it out.

[There's skepticism on Rey's part, if only because Unkar Plutt never seemed to care whether she lived or died. Whatever she brought into him, he decided on how much or how little she was paid. She lived in a world where no one really gave much of a care for one another. Sure, some helped her out, but the majority of people only looked out for themselves, they had to. Maybe it's the same way she grew to care for Finn and he grew to care for her, but that was after hours of being with one another and fighting together.
But, if he wanted to drop the subject, she could.
They needed to exchange information and Rey's mind is trying to recall how to work her device correctly. She hasn't had much time to tinker and play around with it. Only having to send out texts or make replies, but that was it. She never had to call anyone, let alone look for her own number. Cisco is very patient though...he guides her, showing her what to do to reveal her number.]
I think...that's it, right? [She taps on settings and then the right tab to reveal her number.] And if I want to add yours, I just go back, Contacts...and I think there's a plus symbol there. [Okay, it's starting to come to her.]
Thank you. [For showing her and for being patient...and a whole bunch of other things.]

So he gets her squared away with his number, smiles, and says: ]
Sure. And, like, if you ever need anything, I mean... in a non-job related way, or you're having trouble settling in, just shoot me a text, alright?

I understand, and should you need anything, let me know.
[That seemed fair, right? As long as they were willing to do things for one another (no strings attached, hopefully), then it would be fine to contact each other just to..check up on each other? A somewhat strange concept...but it was nice to be able to know she could speak to someone else if she needed too.
They exchanged numbers and Rey got back up to stand on her feet. She told Cisco she had to go, but thanked him again.
She couldn't wait to go out and do something normal, something that was once part of her old life.]
