Log: Gonna make a comeback this time.
who: Jason Todd
what: Just a batboy out being his hot mess self.
when:the 6th-20th.
where: Around the Quarantine.
warnings: Violence, and language will update with more.
A: Communal housing & Garage
The last thing Jason had expected upon getting home from work and showering was the sound of the front door. After a quick conversation with another member of the Parameter Guard and a familiar set of keys shoved in his hands, Jason ran down to the elevator without bothering with a shirt or shoes. When he saw the red and chrome machine he couldn't help but smile. He had been saving since he arrived to try and buy a motorcycle even close to this one. And it had it's own little reserved spot. Like it belonged here as much as him. He smiled, almost cheeky, the way he had so often as a boy before pocketing the keys and making his way back inside and up to finish getting dressed.
Jason found his way back down to the motorcycle once he was done with his normal afternoon busy work. Slipping on he just sat there and let the engine idle a bit. He had missed his bike. He sat there awhile before slipping off to look over each part to make sure everything was as It should be.
An hour or so later, he tore out into the night speeding.
B: Trixie
A few nights after the fight at the sleazy bar, Jason made his way to Trixie, after all, it was the best place to go when he missed his replacement, not that he would ever in any life admit that. Plus Loki was still there, and he hadn't gone to see the guy in awhile. Friendship, or whatever it was, was a two-way street. He gave a nod to the bouncer on his way in, if it was Nico a moment was spared to talk to his creepy friend.
After making his way inside he didn't go to the VIP but to the bar proper to sit and do his usual taking in of people around him. A book opened on the counter as he quietly read. He would go hunt Loki down soon but a chapter or two at the bar while he nursed a beer wasn't a big deal it would kill time.
C: Floor Six
It was pushing three am when the window near Jay's room slid back open. He always vanished around ten or eleven, stepping in he yanked the bag over his shoulder and he looked around at his roommates, if they were asleep or not. His jacket was zipped up as he made his way right to the bathroom. He made quick work of disarming the taser in his body armor and pulling it off in chunks. Each part he hides hidden in his bag as he made his way back out. The bag shoved in the trunk as he shed his pants and grabbed the red cloak up wrapping it around himself as he headed into the kitchen in just the boxers and cape. Making himself a bowl of cereal and moving to sit down at the TV.
D: Random Club
It was a Saturday night, and while he should be out patrolling, or god knows what else. He opted instead to shake off his loneliness by going to one of the clubs. He had even dressed the part, and styled his hair pretty neat, which wouldn't last if he actually danced with anyone. He hadn't told his roommates where he went, he never does after all. Once he got in, he went to the bar and had a couple drinks to start the night off. As the night went on, he eventually made his way to the floor.
He was feeling better as the night went on. Dancing with different people, and just generally pretending to be someone else. Jason Todd had a night off, so, he was trying to be like any other twenty three year old on a Saturday night. He wasn't looking for anyone to take home, just for a few minutes of unattached fun to the thumping club music.

"There he goes at it again." The guy who Jay sees at a few bars and often givessels him info spoke. Jason looked up after landing his shot. Seeing the girl his hackles rises. Oh he's seen that ducking creep and he recognized Lola. "Son of a bitch." He growled and slammed the que down.
A few seconds later a hand slams down between them. Jason for once was standing his full size. Making himself look bigger the way Bruce taught him. "Back off, I know your game, if you don't your going to be eatting out of a fucking straw." His accent came out thick as Jay kept that thick arm between the two.

Lola had gotten herself down from the bar. Sitting her her favorite flirting pose didn't do her much good to look intimidating. Of course, Lola had trouble looking intimidating standing up given she didn't really have the height for it. She wobbled, only slightly, on her landing. So she'd been overserved a little, "He was being nice to me, what'd you do that for!?"

Jay leaned down, hands on his hips as he glared intensely down at the pretty one. "Being nice, you call that being nice? He hasaid a reputation for getting pretty girls like you drunk and taking advantage of them. Did you want to become another statistic." He asked almost growling.
no subject
"And so what? I didn't plan to go home with him, I planned to sit here the whole night getting free drinks. And if I did I'm already a statistic or however that works." Lola's a statistic in a different measure of things society likes to just sweep under the rug. Not a conversation she wanted right now, while drunk, and angry, but especially the angry bit. "I'm sure they have even fancier clinics than back in Toronto."
Lola looked around the bar, then back at the bartender. "You're not going to serve me anymore now that he's done this, are you." The bartender, someone of decided wisdom and experience, shook their head. Causing Lola to just go into the saltiest and angriest tirade in Spanish she could. It was impressive, for someone so against swearing most of the time she could when she wanted.
no subject
"Call me a hypocrite but, you don't need to drink your problems away, whatever your problems are, Lola. And if you want to, be smart about it, that's all I'm asking. Your a sweet girl, I'd rather not have to kill someone for hurting you. I will." His eyes showed how serious he was. "But i'd rather not.
If the bartender served or not he'd wave them away after a second. Before grinning a bitime. "Nice, you could give me a run for my money." he replied easily in Spanish, he learned that before the big bad Bat ever picked him up. It was useful on the streets.

"I'm not trying to fix anything, just... I don't know. I was hoping it'd just feel nice, being appreciated. Even if he was just hoping for sex." Lola's head was a mess of thoughts and annoyances. The more she learned about her powers the more... she liked the idea of them, but wished she controlled them. "I wouldn't mind sex, right now. Not with him, obviously..."
She's blushing a little at the compliment on her angry tirade. She doesn't like talking like that, especially not when people understand her. But she had a lot more experience with Spanish swearing than English. (What else would happen in the kitchen if something went wrong?)

He was impressed that she wasn't slurring or falling over, but she was still young in his eyes, and he had rules even without the bright red helmet on. "How old are you?" Not that he had ANY room to judge her wishes. Still he had to ask, because, well laws. He wasn't offering, because he didn't think a man in his twenties should be anywhere near someone in their teens, which he believed her to be. "Well, you have a right to feel good and appreciated, I will give you that, but this place, this isn't a place to come looking for that. I come here and beat the shit out of people in the parking lot Lola, that's the kind of place this is." he had no shame in what he does, he's that buff for a reason. Though he's sure his employers likely wouldn't approve of one of their guards out fighting in parking lots after dark.
'I wont tell anyone anything, it's your business, Lola.' He offered in Spanish. Figuring if she knew it maybe it would help, but he was pretty sure he was seriously going to have to make sure she got home okay, because that creep could always come back.

She stared at her drink for a little while, before shifting to Spanish. "I'm not a virgin, and after last time I know how to take my birth control correctly." She wasn't ashamed of her choices, she told her entire school about her abortion. She still didn't like the sort of looks, the whispers, that such a story brought. She explained herself to the school to take control of everyone knowing. But Jason called her a potential statistic, he could handle knowing how much she was one. "And this place, the city not this bar, is too chaotic to really feel comfortable settling down with someone."
She felt really bad for Ivar right now.

He arched a brow at that Spanish before nodding. No judgement or sympathy. But he thought of Steph for a second. He didn't have much to do with Blondie, but he knew about what she had gone through through the grape vine. That all happened before he returned to Gotham. She had had her baby though, just gave it up for adoption. "Just so you know, I'm not judging you about that. I was concerned because that guys a douche-bag. It's your body, your rights, your choices to make. Anyone who says otherwise is an asshole, and while I am one, I like to think I'm a little more open minded about that stuff." He felt he had to justify himself, because sometimes people weren't looking for a hero, and he could respect that. She was a bit of a spitfire after all. "Are you sure about that? I mean life's always got those odds, so why worry just because this place is a bit crazy?" He shifted a bit looking over to someone arguing with his pool buddy. Good thing he could divide his attention.

She was somewhat glad he didn't make a huge deal about what she was doing, could do, might do, or did. Everyone had their own way to handle things but it was her way. It was why she avoided Winter. Winter wasn't her's because Lola wasn't the kind to be a mom. Not yet, maybe not ever. But definitely not yet. "When someone who should love you gives up on you, that's one thing. It hurts, it sucks. But when they love you and just... can't stay. They have to make that choice it just feels a lot worse. Nobody stays forever."
This place, the Quarantine, so many people stayed, but not the people she saw in the housing. The beds that emptied and filled with people all the time? And she called more than one friend, and now they were gone. The idea she called them more, told them that word that opened up so much joy and so much pain? She couldn't do that yet.

"Amen to that." He spoke taking a drink the moment the beer was placed down. He thought of Kori and Roy in that moment. How much Roy hurt when Kori had to return to her planet, how badly he himself hurt Roy when he walked away. "Sometimes though, you gotta walk away for the other person's own good. You have to hurt them because your going to drag them down if you don't."
no subject
Lola priorities, everyone!
"Still hurts. Like, you can do it for their own good, or know its coming, but it hurts all the same. They aren't there, and that's all that it comes back to," Lola was sipping at her drink, bitter and angry at all sorts of people right now. None of it was exactly their fault, she couldn't blame them for their choices when she thought about it. So she didn't think, she just felt, let those emotions take hold. "I can't lean on anyone right now because I don't wanna fall over, when the portal takes them home."
no subject
"Exactly, your pretty wise for someone your age. And it hurts even worse when you live together. I kept telling myself I didn't care, but truth is I care a lot about people. Might ruin my reputation to say that though." Jason reached over putting a hand on her shoulder. "I get what your saying, and you have reason to worry, shit this place just stole one of my brothers back. But, as long as I'm here, you can lean on me. I'm strong enough to hold you up."
no subject
"I'll keep your secret." She wasn't about to go ruining anyone's reputation by pointing out they had feelings. She did all she could to hide her own. She was really bad at it, sure, but she tried. "I'll take the offer, but... you're too old for me. And what you just told me suggests I'm way too young for you. Plus the abortion thing shows about how motherly I am."
There was a playful little smile at the end of all of that, Lola knew what he meant but it kinda felt right to poke at him a little. Plus it kinda made it feel more normal... talking about all of this.

When she spoke he lifted the glass in mock salute. "You have my thanks." He couldn't help a cheeky grin at that and rolling his eyes. "Yeah I figured that, I would kick the shit out of a guy my age hitting on a girl your age. That's just mean, a guy says one thing and you make it sound like a kink. Trust me, you don't want to know the stuff Im really into." He teased, but in truth, he was a pretty vanilla lover, like with his attitude, he was mostly 90% bullshit.
He couldn't help laughing then, it was nice. Not what he expected of the night when he slammed his hand down between her and the guy not to long ago.
no subject
"But... I can't really lean too much on you, cause this is about getting close to someone romantically. And making that special, so..." She did need people, and she didn't hide from that. But letting someone in as deeply as that one terrible word managed. That was a bit more. "Everyone here that's my age just doesn't seem to get it, romance stuff? They're all badass soldiers, warriors, and stuff. But they seem to have an issue with just... a cute girl interested in them. Kinda makes telling them harder."
And it wasn't like sharing feelings needed an extra difficulty level, it was already terrifying.
no subject
"Oh yeah, no, that wont work. I don't do the romantic shit. " he waved a hand as if to show he was put off by it. Before lifting his beer again. "When my ex left me, she made sure I knew I was no good for anyone." Granted, Jason only heard what he wanted, she had also told him when he was ready to hang the costumes up she'd be there for him. Sadly though he expected to get gunned down in the streets before he gave up the rush. He nodded listening as he sat the beer down again. "You have a point. the badass soldiers are all repressed, and pretty much everyone is hung up on something or another, but I hope you find someone. Maybe your just looking for love in the wrong places, Lola. I don't know, I'm shit with this stuff."
no subject
"I want it, but... it's scary. Opening up. Letting them get to decide. When they inevitably betray you." You can tell she's drunk cause she's saying things about herself. Important things. Personal things. That's what this all comes down to, giving them the control, and praying they don't do what everyone else has ever done. She sighed, "Thankfully I'm not here looking for love. I'm looking for someone to tell me I'm pretty and buy me a drink. Lot easier, a lot safer."
Because she knows she's pretty and she could buy her own drink, but it's nice to have the validation and the money stay in her pocket. Boys were so easy on that last part.
no subject
"Your to damn smart for your age you know that." He replied as he took a drink finishing off the beer before leaning a bit to wave the bartender back down. He had a feeling she was drunk just from letting that sleazeball hit on her.
"Lola, no. Don't set the bar that low. You deserve better. You know what, go to Trixie, theirs nicer guys there, ones that would love to buy a pretty girl a drink. On that note." He looked to the man refilling her drink. "After she has one more, I'll be ready to settle up the tab, this one and the next are on my bill." He spoke to the guy who still probably was judging him. Jay had a reputation for fighting, not hitting on pretty young looking girls. His attention back to her. "because your a friend, not because your pretty. Which you are, but we've already covered that."
no subject
Lola's going to give Jason a look, the whole idea of deserving better didn't bother her. It was the whole risk attached. And a lot of the things she got she deserved better than, isn't that the point? "...I'll think about it for tomorrow night. Tonight, after this round I think I'm on my way home."
"Totally because I'm pretty."
no subject
He laughed at both of her responses, the English and Spanish. "How about I give you a ride home then. My bikes out there. Let me feel a little better about making sure you get home."
no subject
"...I guess, someone told me I should get a motorcycle over a vespa when I was trying to figure out my own wheels." She should at least see how comfortable she is riding on one. Even if tonight she might be a little too drunk to really appreciate the finer details. Fortunately she had a pretty good physical constitution even if she'd shared a lot more feelings than she meant to. "Thank you."
no subject
Jason stepped off the stool then, pulling his keys free from his jacket pocket once he was on his feet. "Vespa's aren't bad, expensive but not bad. I wouldn't ride one again but I have before. No problem, what are friends for? Come on, let's blow this Popsicle stand." He added a bit amused, though a voice in the back of his head already nagging he needed to drive safer, the only helmet he carried was his uniform helmet and boy putting that on her would be bad.
no subject
Lola put some cash on the bar before hopping down from her stool. Which she needed to brace a hand on the bar for. As the stools were meant for people of reasonable heights. And she was unreasonably short. Still, she stuck the landing, she wasn't too drunk. Once Lola figures out the lack-of-helmets. "You're so lucky we're going home, this would ruin my hair for the night."
Drunk Lola's priorities are not too different from Lola's priorities, but Lola would probably realize that riding on a motorcycle without a helmet is bad.
no subject
He would wait until she was on, and holding on before revving the bike and pulling them from the parking-lot, keeping the speed limit and generally not being a menace, last thing he wanted was officer Grayson seeing him and reading him the riot act later for taking a risk with a civilian.
