[It doesn't really matter that much, who drinks the potion first, the end result is the same: six white threads, the colour of bonds, stretching out between them. There are three that go nowhere in particular, for Merle, Davenport, and Barry, but the other three have definite ends.

[Lup wakes up covered in threads after playing with a potion, and she's more than a little confused. They're easy enough to get out of, though, and seems to move to keep her untangled.

One is wrapped around a finger, red and comforting, but after she throws clothes on and follows it, it just... ends. So do three other ones that are wrapped around her chest, just disappearing into nothingness. The sting in her heart at that sight is painful, and she turns away to head back home. She glances at the red string again, slipping it between her fingers. Barry. It was fairly easy to figure it out. These were bonds, little strings of love and connections. Merle and Davenport, too.

Fuck, she missed them so much.

When she comes back to the house, she has pretty much figured out which one's Taako's, because it's so bright and strong that it could light up a whole room. The last two are bright as well, and they just make her... happy to know they're still strong, even with Magnus without his memory and Lucretia hurting them all.

They're so loved.

Smiling, she eats a breakfast muffin, chugs some coffee and then goes to follow one of the threads.]

[So all that happened. Lucky for Lup that she didn't have to see Magnus's meltdown. The events that followed with Taako kept Magnus... occupied, so it actually skipped his mind to check in on anyone else.

It only takes a night for Magnus to get back into the groove of hanging around in Taako and Lup's space, considering, well... He remembers them now. So. The next morning he doesn't feel weird slipping out of Taako's room to root through their fridge. Lucky for Lup once again that he decides he should put his clothes on first.

Before he reaches the fridge, he spots Lup having breakfast at the kitchen table. His food can wait—he hasn't seen her (in a scenario which he could've appreciated) in over a year.]

Lup!

[He runs to her and picks her up in a bear hug.]

[Lup drops her spoon in the bowl with a loud clink as she sees Magnus come into the kitchen. Right there, in their house, his sideburns and hair all mussed from sleep and looking happy.

Magnus was home.

She pushes back the chair so hard that it falls over when she stands, and pretty much jumps into those arms as he picks her up in the best of bear hugs - her own wrapping around his neck.

She's not going anywhere, he would have to peel her off.]

Magnus! I fuck, shit, Magnus you're here!

[Both in person and in memory.]

I missed you, you big lug.

[Magnus spins her around in this hug, natch. This is a fuckin' production. Even when he stops spinning, he keeps holding her in the air.]

Magnus is back, baby! I missed you too, you lil' stinker!

[Before he sets her down, he gives her a kiss on the cheek, with a loud mwah.]

Yeah, so, uh. Sorry that I couldn't remember you for a month. I promise I won't forget about you ever again.

[She's laughing as he spins her and sticks her legs out artfully like they're doing the world's clumsiest ballet. As Magnus put her down and gives her that kiss, Lup reaches up and musses his sideburns affectionately.]

No worries, buddy. It's not your fault.

[Here's a nose kiss with another obnoxiously loud kissy noise.]

I was wondering who Taako was with last night!

[aahahhahahahahahaha. ha.] Predictable, right? [He's willing to make fun of himself.]

Before I ask you a thousand questions about the life you've been leading in Riverview, I must rudely ask you what I might take from your kitchen. Magnus is hungry.

Aw, you two are silly but cute.

[In all honestly Taako might have needed some of that lovin' after all the emotional shit and the breakup, so she's quite happy for them.

...then his mention of food has Lup grinning at once.]

Lup will make Magnus whatever the heck he wants to eat!

[He pumps a fist into the air. This is way better than rummaging through the fridge for leftovers or something.]

Can we have dessert for breakfast? And before you say no, let me remind you that I was named Puppy Dog Eyes Champion in cycle 23.

Of course you can have dessert for breakfast! I can't possibly beat the puppy eyes, after all.

[She wouldn't be able to deny him anything right now.]

What would you like? I can whip up some waffles or crepes, or would you like cake?

I'll take all of the above, please. [A laugh.] No, I'm kidding. How about cake? A big ol' chocolate cake with chocolate everything.

[He makes his way toward the cupboards in preparation to help out, because of course he's gonna try to help.]

Okay, so that's settled. Now I can ask you what you've been up to.

Chocolate everything it is!

[She points to a cabinet that has the bowls while she opens the fridge and gets out an unfrosted muffin to feed Maggie while she cooks.

Grabbing a couple of other things from the fridge, she starts preparing as Magnus talks.]

I've... been pretty busy keeping everyone together this last month... but the month before that I was partying a lot.

[Because Taako told her all about the future and the Taaco twins deal with emotions weirdly.]

Getting to know the place, you know? Plus there was a big festival with all kinds of fun.

[He doesn't notice Lup gets him a muffin, so it's a very pleasant surprise he receives when he passes off a mixing bowl to her.]

Thanks! [He takes a bite without even really looking at it first, natch. Ooh, poppyseed.]

Hell yeah! I haven't been to a good party in ages. Raven's Roost isn't exactly a partying kind of place.

[A mischievous grin grows onto his face.]

What if we have a party?

[Lup winks at him as she starts picking things from the cabinets with a mage hand and adding ingredients to the bowl Magnus got her. She plans to make a thick chocolate cake with sweet chocolate frosting and chocolate sauce swirled in the cake. Enough to floor anyone with a chocolate craving.]

You gotta tell me about that place, I'm really curious what kind of places you guys went to.

[She almost drops the bowl when Magnus suggests a party, and smiles so widely that it almost looks like it would hurt.]

Oh yes! That would be amazing!

Hell yeah! Let's do it!

[He leans against a counter and takes another bite of his muffin, only chewing for like, a second before he starts talking with his mouth full.]

But we can plan that later.

[And then he swallows. Magnus, why are you like this.]

Raven's Roost is pretty cute, actually. It's kind of like a Big Small Town, if you know what I mean. Everybody knows everybody there. I think after a while everyone I knew forgot I wasn't born there. Myself included. [He remembers the town fondly.]

Oh, yeah, and it was built into a mountain, so it looks super neat.

[She finishes mixing the ingredients and finds a good cake pan to pour it in, before putting it in the oven.]

Don't disrespect the food, Maggie. Swallow first.

[Something she had said a million times, and it felt so right to be able to say it again.

Lup leans against the counter and listens to Magnus as he starts talking about his 'home'.]

It sounds pretty great. You did carpentering, right? More than ducks~?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. [He hears this from Lup (and, well, from everyone) all the time and always ignores it. It's nice hearing it again, though.]

Yeah! I started an apprenticeship with this really nice guy named Steven at his studio. We built furniture n' stuff. Now I'm building houses which is kind of a different beast, but it's still cool.

[There's a roll of her eyes at his 'yeah's, but Lup continues to whip up chocolate frosting as she listens.]

Shit, Mags. That sounds really domestic. I'm going to have to go see it so you can show me where you learned stuff.

You're building houses here in Riverview?

I would totes take you if I could. I'd like to go back. [With his memories back, Raven's Roost doesn't feel like home anymore, but he still feels a certain attachment.]

Yep! I like it. The hours are regular and they give me access to the building after hours if I wanna work on my own projects. They even let me buy supplies through 'em. It's a pretty sweet deal.

We'll go check it out eventually! I want to see your 'home' and Merle's, too.

[You know, after they get back and save the world.]

Shit, that sounds perfect for you! Are you making friends?

Yeah, of course! [He's not sure how possible that will be, considering the whole... Riverview thing, but it's nice to hope.] Gosh, wonder what Merle's up to without us.

Yeah, definitely. I've been hangin' with Hana, and Ed, and Cisco—Oh, shit, Cisco. I, uh, kinda ditched him too when I ditched all of you guys. [Something he definitely feels bad for. Now that he has his memories back, it's hard to believe he ever pushed his family aside.] I better let him know we're cool.

[Whoops!]

They say time moves differently here or something, so he might not even miss us. Fuck, I hope so.

[Barry. She fucking left him a few minutes before they did the lich ritual, so she better be back at the same time so he doesn't think she abandoned him.

The topic of friends makes her smile again, thankfully.]

Oh, Hana is great, and Cisco is pretty much a friend of everyone of us, he's absolutely amazing. [She nudges Magnus shoulder a bit and hands him the frosting spoon since she's done with that.] He'll understand, he's been around our mess long enough.
