Entry tags:
music and mayhem
who: Bucky and OPEN
what: A variety of prompts, serious and more light-hearted, for existing and new CR
when: The month of September
where: Quarantine and the ruins
warnings: Minor injury/blood discussion
[i: thief at the hospital]
[Bucky has used the last of what Steve brought him on the night he was pulled from underneath the girder and patched up, but the wound still isn't completely healed and he doesn't want to risk it getting infected from substandard care. The bastardised serum he has might help keep infection at bay, but he's still human and he knows better than to risk it.
So clearly the best thing to do is head on over to the hospital, right?
Anyone passing by the hospital on a few days throughout the month might catch sight of a man subtly climbing in through one of the upper windows, and then climbing out again a few minutes later with his hoodie noticeably more full as if he's been pilfering supplies... mostly because that's exactly what he's doing.]
[ii: a stitch in time]
[Following the hospital raids, Bucky can be found out in the ruins tending to himself.
He has his shirt off, meaning that his metal arm is exposed to view for once, and is dealing with a nasty looking gut wound. It's already been stitched up, he's not in danger of keeling over any more, but he's cleaning out the dried blood and wrapping with fresh bandages.]
[iii: kiss and tell]
[After the disaster with Obi-Wan, Bucky has been keeping a very close watch out for those stupid little lights, determined not to get himself trapped under someone else's influence again. But they're more numerous than he'd like and sometimes one doesn't get seen until it's just a bit too late...
A warning to anyone getting themselves caught with Bucky in the kiss and tell, he may not react well and it could lead to fighting rather than kissing.]
[iv: songs from the old days]
[Bucky doesn't have much of a solid base, more a few bolt holes that he uses in a random pattern to keep him from being easy to track down, and that means that he doesn't have much in the way of possessions. It has to be easy to carry and flee with at a moment's notice, after all. But he has one or two indulgences that he's picked up on a whim, driven by half remembered days from before the Soldier.
He has a kite that he can sometimes be seen perched on a rooftop flying in the breeze, looking unaccountably peaceful. He also now has a record player. He found it in a little curiosity shop, a proper old one with some vinyls to go with it. He doesn't play the music too loudly, but anyone passing by some of the abandoned buildings or ruins might hear the quiet strains of the Andrews Sisters.]
[v: wildcard]
[Bucky can also be found at nights having nightmares, skulking around at the gun range watching others play, or generally observing the world around him. If you would like to play any of these, or have a completely different idea for a prompt, just go for it and I'll follow your lead! You can also hit me up on
bibbety for plotting.]

Granted, he knows the Bucky from the other universe quite well. It's hard to imagine he could be an iteration of the Bucky he's heard the occasional story or comment about.
Thor isn't on the look out for him by any means. He doesn't recognise him in passing, but as he realises he can walk no further, he has a moment to take in his appearance and make what seems to be a logical assumption. He notes the other man's posture, the way he tenses does not read as friendly to Thor. He doesn't shrink back, but he'll keep to his side of the bubble.
..Even though he feels somewhat compelled to close the distance between them. He knows how this goes.]
Have you been trapped like this before? This is not my first time.
no subject
So how did he manage to miss him until they were trapped together?
His eyes narrow and he nods briefly.]
You're going to have to wait.
no subject
He's accustomed to the fact that he will feel the compulsion to kiss him, but as he anticipates the sensation, he's better equipped to squash it down.]
I've had little success in attempting to knock down the barriers, either, but I welcome you to try. [He pauses, and considers.] I am Thor, I don't believe we've met, but I've heard of you.
no subject
I know who you are as well.
[He's done a lot of Avengers homework in his time.]
I think we can just wait, if we're patient the walls go down.
no subject
I'm not sure how long that would take, but I am willing to endure. [He wonders if that could be taken as a slight against Bucky's character, but he doesn't know Bucky well enough to assume anything of him.]
How shall we amuse ourselves, then?
no subject
I don't know, how do you usually pass the time?
[He's not a big one for socialising any longer.]
no subject
I used to know. Lately I'm not so sure. [But he isn't about to dump an existential crisis on this guy. Not yet, anyway.] There's plenty to do and see here, but not so much in this bubble.
[Thor folds his arms over his chest, casual in his stance. He gives Bucky another appraising look, but he feels it sets off the little bubble-based impulses. He averts his eyes.]]
We may have no choice but to get to know one another.
no subject
[He's aware that Thor might have meant that as a euphemism for kissing, but he'd rather pretend not to have been aware and go for the literal meaning.]
I've never met a God before, should be interesting.
[A part of him still remembers what it was to be Christian, when he would have baulked at the idea of another God, but that was a long time ago.]
no subject
He's not sure how he feels about people putting him on that kind of pedestal, but maybe that's because he hasn't felt very godly for a long time.]
I'll answer any questions you have. [He says, with a light chuckle.] I've come across many things I never thought I would, here. A thousand years of living and these past few months have been more bizarre than most things I've experienced.
How are you finding it here in the Quarantine?
no subject
It's peaceful.
[For the most part.]
Nobody here trying to track me down.
no subject
Though I feel I may be too old for so many parties.
no subject
[And something bad obviously happened to put everyone into this little Quarantine bubble.]
no subject
[Thor thinks on what Bucky says for a moment, because it connects with something in his mind.] The first festival I experienced here was Memoria. Mourning. That was confronting.
no subject
[That's also common, in his experience, for people who've just survived when they didn't expect to.]
Not really my thing.
no subject
They are very persistent in that regard. I wouldn't have thought it was my thing either, but it's easy to immerse yourself in it all when you imagine it isn't permanent.
[Easy for Thor, anyway.]
no subject
[Whoa, where did that come from? It just sort of slipped out. Stupid, he can't even remember his mother's name or face, how can he remember that she taught him to dance with as many girls as he wanted but not to go any further unless he was sure it would be permanent?]
no subject
I'll call it a cultural difference- or an age difference. There aren't many people who can say they're older than you, are there?
no subject
[Is he in his late twenties? Is he near a hundred? Is he somewhere in between after adding on the time spent out of cryogenic freeze?]
no subject
[Thor does step forward as if to clap Bucky on the back, but at the last moment thinks better of it.
Instead, he quirks a brow.]
If I were you, I'd not pretend to be too young. You should utilize your grizzled looks.
no subject
Most people would say I was unkempt, no grizzled, and it's not a look fellas usually try and utilise. But thanks for the advice.
no subject
I wonder, what's the last thing you remember from home? It seems some of us are from different points in time.
no subject
I know, people have told me what might happen in the future. What I last remember isn't important, I wasn't anywhere noteworthy.
