who: Re-L Mayer & Friends what: Assorted Shenanigans when: The month of September! where: Her apartment, around Riverview, the Ruins, anywhere really... warnings: None yet? I'll add some if it's needed for sure
It's been a long day, and Chloe's never one to say no to coffee. She takes her cup, momentarily letting the heat of it warm her hands, before she takes a sip. Snorting softly when Re-L speaks, Chloe sets her cup down and gestures in a small circular motion, more out of habit than anything else.
"Would this be your full-time position? I've never worked in private investigations before, but I'd imagine it'd take some work to start up. In terms of getting business and all." Being bored isn't exactly something Chloe struggles with; her place rests with the homicide division. It's where she feels most comfortable and like she's making a difference. But she could imagine why Re-L would want to branch out more. "My partner actually got assigned as a private investigator when he first arrived here. He might be able to give you more information as someone who's actually done it."
"Not at first I don't think." As much as she would like it to be, she'd need a certain amount of constant money flow to support this apartment and her shopping habits, food - you know, everything necessary in the world. Now that she's started cooking the amount going out for food had diminished pretty considerably, but she's still a twenty year old who snacked quite often and shopped quite often, too. "Most likely part and part, though it may start as a side job and kind of.. progress from there. Depends. I'm still trying to finesse the math and figure out what's necessary and what will need building.."
She's done a lot of thinking about it, now it was a matter of finding the best way to enact it.
"Really?" Well that's an interesting little detail. She's very interested, actually, leaning forward slightly. "That would be a good input to have, I think. Particularly if he's done it before."
She notices the way Re-L leans in, her interest obviously piqued. While she can't guarantee that Lucifer will be particularly helpful, considering the man had a way of being unpredictable and ruled by self-interest and flights of fancy more often than not, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
"He used to work with me as a consultant back in LA. He has this weird... mojo thing that makes it easy for him to get information out of people. He might be able to tell you more than I could about breaking into the PI business. Just tell him Chloe sent you."
Funny enough she's already run in to him once and had a rather.. odd discussion about vices. Granted, she won't know it until she's at his door again, but that would be a little discovery she's likely to kick herself over.
"Mojo thing?" Sorry, Chloe, the way Re-L arches a brow at that seems to denote she'd see about that, but she's not unwilling to believe it. This place had shown her worse, more odd things in her time here, after all. "I'll look in to it, either way. Thank you." Unfortunately all of this working and doing other things had also made her miss out on this kind of catch up time with other people, and since they're also not in the middle of a busy public place...
"So, anything change in life, lately? I know I've been too busy to really keep abreast of a lot of things going on in the past few weeks."
