[ He's on the appointed rooftop shortly before seven, hands tucked into pockets, leather jacket buttoned all the way up despite the tropical weather. Rather than hover by the stairwell he waits by the ledge itself, watching the sun go down over the skyline as if that's the only thing he's here for. The lines of tension are in his posture if you know where to look, but his expression is smoothed over. Nothing offered or given away.
He'd promised her the truth. He'd promised her honesty. Whatever she does with that is up to her.
Maybe if he tells himself that enough the world will feel a little less like it's about to come crashing down around him. ]
