I – Around the city

[ So if there’s one thing Nicodemus doesn’t like it’s being caught unawares of his surroundings and his situation. He does like to be in control, after all, but this seemed well beyond his own powers to even manage. Either way the only way to get more information is to ask and talk to those who’ve been here longer. So that’s what he is going to do.
He might come towards you on the street or somewhere else, where ever they happen to be, with a light tap to the shoulder. ]

Beg your pardon but I’ve just recently arrived and would like some direction as to where to go? If you have any suggestions for a new arrival I’d be rather appreciative.

[ Says the polite man with a British accent wearing a noose around his neck. ]

II – Community Housing floor 4

[ He is totally not digging having to share his personal space with people. Nicodemus is a private and otherwise secretive man, for good reasons /sweats So having to actually live with people in such close quarters irks him quite a bit. His shadow conveys his irritation as it undulates on the floor beneath him. The sword grasped in his hand and the noose around his neck paints a rather…interesting picture for anyone who stumbles upon him. This place definitely had potential though, certainly the right cast of characters for it, and while it wasn’t Earth who said he couldn’t start off fresh in an entirely new world? It might be a good thing then that he’s arrived alone, or at least, that he knows of.]

[ Akihiko was not one to hide his emotions, brow raising in alarm at the man's accessory before turning his attention to the stranger proper to see the man entirely unaffected by it. ]

Oh, uh- have you, did you arrive without the Perimeter Guard helping you? Are you alright? [ He gestures vaguely to his own neck. As he did it it felt stupid with how unaffected he man seemed to be but... it seemed important to check. ]

[ Just pretend it's one of those new aged fashion statements. Although Nicodemus hardly looks old, around his late 30s really, but his eyes hold something much older in them. ]

Quite. Though I'm not exactly familiar with this perimeter guard you speak of. But having them wander about asking if people are new arrivals is a bit amusing and a bit of a waste.

[ Perhaps there wasn't much to guard if they had time to wander around looking for new people. At the question Nicodemus' smile turns sharp and there's a flicker from his shadow beneath him. ] Perfectly fine, thank you. I assume you're one of them, the perimeter guards, do enlighten me on this place if you would? I'd like to know all the necessities.

[ His confusion was not dissuaded- it wasn't like people just dropped in from anywhere, and his impression had been that there was always someone posted at the portal. Perfect timing, or what? Without even quite realizing, he had taken a half a step back. His gaze had flicked down to confirm that in fact, there was just the normal amount of shadows pooled on the ground. Which of course there were, because he wasn't back home where misplaced shadows were hostile, leaving him with a hairpin trigger on worrying about these things.

Before he could debunk himself too much, the man speaks again and pulls back his attention. ]

Ah! I'm actually not, so I won't be able to give the best explanation, but I can certainly try.. I can show you where their building is as well, if you haven't been given any housing options? [ Too helpful for his own good? Maybe. ]
