open ✧ arisu august catch-all
who: Arisu Tachibana & YOU!
what: An open mingle for the remainder of August. Arisu is a new kid and getting accustomed to her new life.
when: Mid-August, several days after her arrival
where: All around town. Communal Housing - Floor 10, arcades, grocery shopping, school, etc.

A. COMMUNAL HOUSING - FLOOR 10 (OPEN TO ROOMMATES AND VISITORS)
[ Arisu hated having to rely on a case worker to handle her meals and escort her to and from school. Granted, the free meals gave her extra time to do whatever else she wanted to do that day. Her case worker was a woman who was simply doing her job, but still, Arisu disliked being treated like a child. At some point, she finally takes matters into her own hands and starts to prepare meals in the eating area on her own, just as she used to back home.
On the kitchen counter, several trays, small bowls, and various other supplies are scattered about, having been used for meal preparation. Arisu has her sleeves rolled up, appearing occupied tossing a bowl of pasta with red sauce. Food's almost ready.
Her tablet is propped up displaying a bookmarked recipe for her reference: ...strawberry pasta? ]
B. THE CITY - THE ARCADE
[ After classes, she took a minor detour from the route back to the housing and went for the arcade. As usual, she demanded for her case worker to keep several feet away, refusing to look as though she had an adult chaperone with her. While Arisu was the studious sort, she did like games. She was more of a casual player though, unlike her idol colleagues, Anzu and Sana.
She can be found at a crane game, giving it multiple tries to win a prize. Adorable stuffed animals are normally items she doesn't like being seen with. It's too "childish" for her image. Yet, she's too focused on trying to win the prize. Her attempts at winning aren't going well however and the mechanical claw keeps dropping the plush before even reaching the prize bin.
When she's not playing the crane games, she's at one of the arcade machines. If you're at one of the co-op game, she'll politely announce her presence as she takes up the second player slot: ]
I hope you don't mind if I join you.
C. THE CITY - GROCERY SHOPPING
[ Just as Arisu had been trying to take over cooking meals on her own, she's also trying to take over doing the grocery shopping on her own. Of course, her case worker is waiting outside the store for the child to finish and pestering her every now and then through her network device.
As she heads up and down the aisles, she carries a shopping basket in one arm and her tablet on the other. The tablet has an app open with a long grocery list for each of her meals. The amount of groceries in her basket are beginning to pile up, so much that Arisu has to briefly set the basket down. She looks like she could use some assistance, but she's far too stubborn to ask for the help. ]
D. COMMUNAL HOUSING - STAIRWELL (LATE NIGHT)
[ A child's humming, accompanied by foot tapping along with the rhythm, can be heard echoing in the stairwell. It's the tune of a song only familiar to Arisu and those back at the production studio. Her new school in the Quarantine won't be able to teach her this song. It's a song written specifically for her, one she doesn't want to forget. She never got to perform the song or ask her parents to watch her, after being suddenly whisked away on the day before her performance.
There aren't many areas for Arisu to practice privately after school hours. Her communal housing room is obviously a no go, especially with so many people living there. ]

[Yuffie watches the girl as she prepares the noodles, her eyes curiously set to try a bite of them. When it comes to food, Yuffie's intentions are written all over her face.]
If you want to do that it's Kisaragi. [She doesn't mind.] That's my family name.

A-a stalker in the shadows? Maybe that's why I haven't noticed him yet...
[ Arisu is observant enough to recognize the look on Yuffie's eyes. Once she finishes scooping out the noodles, she sets an empty to plate out. ]
Feel free to help yourself, Kisaragi-san.

[She repeats with a grin. Vincent is criminally shy and Yuffie hopes that being here, away from Gaia, helps him a bit in that regard.]
Sweet! [Not that Yuffie needs an invitation to swipe food but it's nice. She takes a small bowl from the cabinet and then helps herself to a small helping of the food. It looks very interesting.]
Do you cook alot?
[If this is any good they Yuffie has a reason to keep visiting.]

When necessary, yes. I may not have much experience, but I have the knowledge. Researching recipes is simple.
[ She mostly relied on leftovers set aside by her parents back home, but food wasn't always readily available. While she could rely on her case worker to make the meals, she didn't like to rely too much on adults to care for her. ]
Let me know how it tastes. I went exactly by the book.

Yuffie digs in with obvious enthusiasm. After taking a few large bites she pauses and licks her lips as she assesses the meal.]
Not bad. Strange but not bad.
