"I know that, and you know that. But..." she won't go with that. Lola considers for a moment. "I should go and this, um, never happened?" Lola offers but she's still clearly very exhausted. Like... she'd get home and crash almost immediately. There was also a concern in the back of her mind whatever influenced her would still have a say when she tried to get home.

Not for the first time, he wished his brothers were here. Ubbe or Hvitserk had plenty of experience with girls. They could have told him how to keep things from getting awkward. Alas, Ivar was on his own here.
"Going to run out of here with your tail between your legs?" The words came out a little sardonic. It was just Ivar's way, using sarcasm to create a barrier where one had been smashed to pieces already.

And yelling at them was something Lola didn't need. Not when she didn't do anything wrong... on purpose.
"Sometimes running away is the smart play. You run away and you figure out what to do next. It isn't very glamorous but it doesn't get Letha shouting at me for stuff Dolores did." Because all of this would come back to that. Lola knew that, it was so easy to see where Letha's mind would go with this, even if it didn't play logically. "It isn't like I belong in your bed anyway."

In a paradox to the grief-filled expression on his face, Ivar's words are level, almost calm in an odd way. "Letha...no longer matters."

"What happened?"

He didn't bother telling her what had come before. How they had slept together for the first time or how he'd finally told Letha that he loved her. Telling that would once again result in nothing but tears.

Maybe if she was around more, no. No this was Letha. This was Letha the way she was, the twelve year old Dolores met. The girl who had so many ideas as to what was right, and what was wrong, and every one of them was wrong. And that's when Lola realized that she'd balled her hand into a fist so tight she was feeling her nails dig into her hand.
"...I have to go."

It was bad enough going through this heartbreak. But to show such a blatant form of weakness? That was more than any young Viking warrior could have stood.
