This was very formal and Yuffie had a feeling that Lola wouldn't know what to do. "It's a traditional tea ceremony. Usually done between betroths." She took Lola's hand and guided her to the room that she had rented. "Being a princess is a lot of this stuff." She told the other girl beneath her breath. Yuffie moved elegantly as she lowered herself and Lola to a kneeling position in front of the items they had set up.
"I'll sit across from you and show you, okay?" Yuffie rose and moved to the opposite side of the table. She tucked her kimono beneath her in a systematic way that she'd been taught before scooping a bit of tea power into a cup that looked more like a bowl.

Avoiding falling, a very important skill.
"Okay." Lola mirrored the action of scooping a bit of tea powder into her own bowl-like-teacup. Watching Yuffie move to avoid thinking about what Yuffie casually said.

"Good. Now we add water." She poured the water into Lola's bowl and then her own. After that she picked up something that looked like a bamboo whisk and began to stir.
"When it's mixed we present the tea to the other person." Yuffie might have skipped a few steps but she didn't care.

Lola just mimicked Yuffie's actions to make sure she was doing it right. Or at the very least the same wrong as Yuffie. Whichever was the case stirring was a thing she knew, so she oculd tell when it was properly mixed and offered her's to Yuffie.
She really wished the word 'betrothed' would get out of her head, any moment now. Right now, right... nope it's still there.

Bringing the mixture to her lips she took a small sip before placing the bowl down. There was more tea in there but not much. "Okay so I forget exactly why we do this but it's cool and very formal."
Yuffie grinned brightly at Lola. "What do you think Princess Lola?"
no subject
Lola mirrored drinking her own tea, she drank a bit less, but she still drank more than half of the cup's contents.
"It's very," Lola glanced up and away, trying to pick the right words. However being called princess did put a cute little curl to her lips, "serious. For drinking tea. But I guess if it's fun. Not everyday fun, but definitely fun."
no subject
She laughed softly, "well, being a princess is supposed to be serious." Not that Yuffie ever took anything serious. "It's also listening to a lot of old men tell you what to do," that was the part that Yuffie didn't like.
"We can do something else soon. Go get something to eat in our cute outfits." She wanted Lola to have fun after all.
no subject
"That's definitely a good plan. And the best part about being impossibly cute in outfits like these is you feel so much more relaxed when you get out of them afterward." Like, Lola loves her cute, but she also loves the feeling of unwinding afterwards when she gets home. She misses that feeling. Roommates suck. "So where to next?"
no subject
"Being a princess is about protecting people, standing for them and being their voice." It meant that you didn't always get your way, a fact that continued to bother Yuffie. She pushed away thoughts of her father and of Wutai, focusing instead on the lovely girl in front of her.
"I didn't think you'd find this fun." Though Yuffie didn't look disappointed, mostly entertained. "If you're uncomfortable then we can get out of these. Come on. I actually do have a plan B." Yuffie pushed herself up before holding out a hand for Lola. She didn't always have a plan B but when she did it was usually better than plan A.
no subject
So of course she'll just ignore all of that, "It's not that this isnt' fun. Just... it's a bit slow, and careful, and walking in this is way harder than I thought it'd be." She was having fun, just not FUN fun, it was more like Fun? fun. Anyway, she's letting Yuffie call the shots so she'll just take the other girl's hand. "What's plan B?"
She might as well ask, although she doubts she'll get an answer before they're halfway into doing whatever it is.

Once again Yuffie took the lead, taking Lola's hand in hers as they make their way through the city. It's a rather long walk for their limited range of motions but Yuffie's peep never diminished. "Remember when we first met. At the party. I promised that next time I would swim with you. So I'm going to keep my promise."
They didn't have bathing suits which meant that they'd have to swim in their underwear but Yuffie didn't care about that.
no subject
"So..." Lola does figure out they're alone. Or at least out of any direct line of sight. Lola's mind puts this together with their lack of suits but gets a totally different answer from Yuffie's. "Princess tea and skinny dipping was your date idea?"
Not that she's opposed, she just wants to be sure.
no subject
"I wanted it to be a surprise." Hopefully it was a good surprise.
no subject
Well, Yuffie didn't correct on skinny dipping. And neither garment would really cover once wet anyway. "It's a good surprise, but if I had known we'd go swimming I'd have just worn my bikini. Would have saved me time fretting over underclothes."
no subject
When she sees Lola strip completely she follows suit. She wasn't going to leave her alone in whatever state of dress. Solidarity.
"Ready? Now you'll get to see me actually swim."
no subject
Lola, in spite of stolen glances, does take a moment to drink in all of Yuffie. before running up and kissing her. It wasn't passionate, it was a quick pressing of lips, ending in a smile. "Thank you for not being a boring date. Now let's swim!"
no subject
She ran towards the water but as she jumped in she grabbed Lola's hand to pull her in too.
