[ooc: Headers below for each 'stage' of the mission. This is going down mingle-style fast and loose. If you don't want threadjacks in a particular thread, just say so in your header, else it's all fair game. It might get chaotic, so if/when anything major happens I'll summarize up here.]

  • Much bickering is to be had.

  • Sam has cool wings.

  • Michael puked out a window.

  • Steve needs laser safety classes.

[ Steve is not the type to retreat in a fight. He's a war dog, a fighter, and with the golems crashing in, his first instinct to protect Yuri is by taking down the threats in question, not withdrawing from them. When Yuri grabs his wrist, it's almost comical the way the younger man pulls him back, like he's trying to pull a big shepherd dog away from a possible chase. Steve looks back at the blond as he demands that they get away, fear not even touching him despite the crashing trees.

This is really what he lives for. In the end, the truth of the matter is that Steve Rogers is made for the fight because he thrives in it. The serum might have given him the means to survive it, but his heart has always been there. He turns and does better than follow. He jogs with Yuri away from the rock giants, shield raised to smash branches out of their way as he heads with him back to the trees with a light of excitement in his blue eyes. They don't quite get that far before the grenade goes off, and Steve uses his body to block the small chunks of rock being thrown at them, protecting Yuri with his back and the construct shield raised overhead like an umbrella.]

Bucky! You good?

[He calls out when the rumble fades and he can look for his friend again, but it's almost a formality. Steve trusts that Bucky is all right; that he planned for that.]
