[Which does mean there is still some glitter on her hand now, although considering Thor's own appearance, she still fares better than him. She does allow her eyes to linger though, taking him in, as if to see whether any of what he has done is readable on him. Times are changing, but some things will forever remain the same.

There is a light scoff at that, eyes brimming with mirth.]

Only a drink? I think I require a few more.

[It is good to see Peter too, which she was just thinking, and is about to say, when his question throws her off course, distracting her from the thought.

Because she is very excited about these developments. She fidgets with the wand as she jumps in to answer.]

I have a room in a building of many rooms! It has a bed, and a desk. [She's never had a desk before. She still has to sort out what to use it for.] It is on floor 9 of 15 floors and I have neighbors.

I don't know about that, but if you say so. [Izzy throws the coquettish comment out with ease obviously keeping the conversation light and teasing. Plus, if the smells greeting her nose are any indication of what she's about to try the pleasure might literally be all her's considering. Listening to the list of ingredients Izzy gives a light 'mmm' of anticipation.]

Well if it tastes half as good as it sounds or smells you might have given the best suggestion by far. [Not that she's an expert when it comes to food, by any means. She, like anyone else, knows what tastes good when it hits her tongue, though...even if beyond tasting food (and enjoying it) she's been a complete and utter failure.] And I'll owe you one.

[Mantis watches Thor down his drink, and realizes, of course the reason she never felt anything was indeed because she had been drinking too slow.

So she copies him, and finishes the rest of the lemon drink as she had the strawberry. This one is a little fizzy, and tickles a lot more when it goes down.

This is fine. She is absolutely listening.]

I have only recently used it for anyone besides my master! [Was that too loud? That might have been too loud. Mantis isn't sure.] I would like to be helpful to people now instead!

[And that is definitely true. And why she has made every single decision that she has made since the Big one.]

[ ... Oh, jeez. How long have they been living in the same damn building without noticing?

He lets out a helpless little laugh, pulling a hand down his face. ]

Gamora and I are on floor 13, actually, probably in the same building as you. Room 4. You're welcome to come by.

I'd hope so, my reputation is at stake.

[Not really, there's a big difference between cooking and picking out a certain street food for someone to try, but he prides himself on being able to find good food wherever he goes.]

And be careful, I'm sure people warn against owing wizards favors.

[No they don't he's just being playfully ominous.]

[ Hana watches each and every one of Widowmaker's movements, knuckles turning white from her grip on her gun. They had just dispatched three criminals— and yet she couldn't shake the feeling that they weren't the real problem. She can feel her heart racing and her blood rushing at her cool detachment and Hana would like, very much, to punch that completely condescending attitude in the face. ]

You don't know anything about me. So stop talking to me like you do.

[ She was more than happy to show off her MEKA unit, and so she smiled at him again when he agreed to look at a picture or ten. Being a military pilot might not have been a life Hana really chose for herself, having been drafted, but she'd since become proud of what she'd become, and what it meant for the safety of her country. But, also, her mech was state-of-the-art technology. How could she not be proud about it?

It took her only a moment or two of scrolling through her phone before she found a picture to show Shiro. She held the phone up at him to let him look at it. It wasn't exactly shaped like a bunny, but that was always how she'd thought of it and it suited her piloting style quite well. Quick, mobile, powerful. There wasa pink bunny, though, on Hana's flight suit. ]

Ta-dah! That's a state-of-the-art piloted MEKA unit! MEKA, by the way, stands for "Mobile Exo-force of the Korean Army." And there's me next to it!

[ Genji has, so far, been so much cooler than she thought. To be honest, she hadn't thought much of anything prior to them meeting, only really knowing that he'd been in Overwatch and that he is, of course, a cyborg ninja. She isn't sure how to feel about the fact that their meeting each other is happening in a different, alternate reality altogether but there isn't much she could do about that situation. At least she can laugh at his comment and she nods along in agreement. ]

Alright, alright, I'll make sure to cover your face with a dragon emoji. Just as long as it doesn't distract from my face.

Come by to visit? Really?

[Mantis pulls a smile, and its a real smile. No one has ever really invited her to visit anywhere before. It is a very exciting prospect.]

I would like that very much! [She's so excited, she almost knocks the drink she has perched on the edge of the crate over when the wand she was fidgeting with goes a little rogue.]

To be honest, part of it is wistful thinking. He’s here to observe and learn, and he can be rather prude at times so random people he doesn’t know offering things that make him go read to his ears isn’t exactly a pleasant experience, so he really is hoping having a very attractive and tall woman by his side will stop that to some degree. If he can help Re-L with the same problem at the same time then he will take it.

But to any onlookers, Illya is probably the one who looks the most comfortable of the two. For a spy he never quite perfected a poker face… he would never put a mission in danger but he’s always been better hiding in the sidelines and waiting to strike than putting a mask on. Even a mask as simple as ‘this doesn’t make me uncomfortable’.

“I think that one was a bit of a failure.” He tilts his head, glancing at what looks to be particularly strong restrains. They look like they are made from metal, and the way they glint caught Illya’s eyes.

“But some other things are interesting.”

[ He can’t help but laugh a little at her enthusiasm, but it turns into a startled, “Oh, crap,” when her wand knocks into her cup. His hand darts out, catching it before it can spill all over the ground. ]

—Or we can come visit you.

[ And he rights the cup on the crate, moving it a little further back, out of the danger zone of the wand. ]

Either way works.

[He'd have to admit, this is a little unexpected.

Strange, would be the best way to describe it. He looks at Dodger, almost like he's trying to puzzle him out, before just going ahead and saying it:]

You're weirdly determined about this.

The hell made you have a change of heart all of a sudden?

I hardly think you're trying to change as a person.

I'm not.

[He tips his head, watching Reaper carefully. Honestly, he's a little annoyed that he's being seen as someone that just plays games to the end of getting himself hurt... but he guesses without the reputation from his home world, that's what he must come off as.]

I like men who enjoy the challenge of breaking someone. But that's not the type of person you are - so playing you like one is only going end badly for me. And besides, I'm more interested in our... friendship... than you are. So we're playing by your rules.

[Really, at the end of the day, that's all it is. He's being the version of himself he has to be to keep Reaper's interest, just like he's done for every other boss before.]

Right now, I've got 'em so they block foreign neural signals, but not sound. Which I might have to change, if I hear about mind-control methods that rely on sound alone, but also I'm worried about what that'll do to usability. Ideally, I'll get them to guard against all kinds of telepathy, eventually. But for now they've at least, they should at least stop certain types from turning you into a puppet.

[ Cisco realizes belatedly that that last part might sound pretty damn ominous to someone without any context, so he leans in a little and adds: ]

Long story, but there was a gorilla that got affected by the particle accelerator who had a bad habit of mind-controlling innocent folks into doing some pretty terrible stuff.

[ Grodd isn't here, it's true, but Cisco has learned that when you live in a weird world, it is much better to be safe than it is to be sorry. ]

Doesn't New York have like a billion different food blends and stuff? *Lola is basing this off rumor and a few of her friends who do travel and do get to see other places more than she does.*

Totally! And it means I don't have to redo my whole wardrobe to go with a new color. It's just a lot easier all around, unless I get distracted and my color changes on me.

*The fact that she did a weird alien procedure to change her hair forever, she doesn't get how it works, or what it might do if she ever goes home were totally not important! Mere details, no value focusing on them.* Oh, it's permanent, my new hair grows in with the same color changing. And I still had it when I wasn't myself. I... probably should look up how it works exactly, I'm mostly just happy it does work. It was really expensive, like too expensive without someone else paying for it.

*Someone sending her a free procedure she doesn't understand and is unlike anything from home also didn't set off alarm bells. But this is Lola, she seems perfectly happy.*

A mind-controlling gorilla. [It's sad a little flatly, but come on. That's a hell of a thing.

Then again, he's got a not-quite-android who can walk through walls back home, so what does Tony know?]

So they're basically just earbuds because that's an easier way to keep them on someone? [He considers that for a moment, then nods.] Makes sense. Apparently small electrical shocks can also disrupt psychic weirdness, but I think that has to be on the one doing the weirding.

[The nod comes automatically, though, the small peel of laughter that escapes as she clarifies the positive answer to her question follows.] A lot, anyway, but I can't say I've ever come across bug milk. Even New York doesn't have everything. Though, we like to pretend we do.

[Izzy gives a joking shrug, her shoulders lifting just a couple of inches before settling back into place before she finds herself grinning. If the place that did her hair ever needs a spokesgirl, Izzy'd definitely suggest her without much hesitation.] All the fun and experimentation that you could want without the hassle that comes with it...even with the risk of distraction it sounds pretty great.

[Izzy isn't sure that she's willing to drastically change her own hair in such a permanent way, but...if she were in need of a change and interested...well, she could definitely see herself going with something like what Lola has gone with. Izzy's a little too fond of her hair as it is, though.] That's kind of amazing. [Izzy doesn't bother to pretend or act as if she's shy; she tilts her head--focused on the other girl's hair. She does bypass the comment about when she wasn't herself...if only because digging too much might be construed as rude...y'know considering they did just meet.] And, in the long run, it saves the money you'd spend on changing to whatever color you wanted at a given time. You really do pull off the bold color well, by the way. It looks great on you, so I guess it was really lucky on your part, it all paid off for you.

[Fashion, beauty, anything within that realm Izzy is never ashamed to dig into. And she's never shy about giving a well-deserved compliment either.] I'll have to dig around and look up the procedure. I don't think I'd ever go so bold myself, but I'm curious about how exactly it works.

[Izzy doesn't bother to hold back the small laugh that escapes. She's fairly certain that if the food isn't great it won't actually mar his reputation, but she enjoys the playful banter, nonetheless.] I, somehow, think your reputation could survive. I highly doubt that something that smells like that could be bad too, though.

[Izzy's cooked enough things that smelled bad to know that the nose is involved in the tasting process. Izzy does find herself pausing for a moment, though. Wizard. Not the same as a warlock, but the world--the magical core--is familiar to her.

Izzy isn't exactly used to someone coming right out and stating what they are, but then again...back home there were a lot of mundanes to protect. And in Wayward Pines the rules in place initially prohibited talk of memories...what she is, what others were, just wound up looped in with that at the time.

Without missing a beat, though, Izzy grins a bit wider and tosses out her retort.] Well, just because some people give warnings doesn't mean that they're right. I'm pretty sure I've heard the same about seelies, and a few other species now that I think about it, at one point. Where's the fun in being careful about every little thing, anyway?

[She's kidding....mostly, anyway. By the angel, she has done a few things in her life that did follow that exact philosophy, though. Oh well! Either way, she's not too worried about owing her new friend. Lightwoods are good for their word, anyway.]

[Of everything Izzy just said, the most important fact to Taako is that she references species as though there's more than one, more than just humans, and that's something he's missed, when talking to a lot of people, so his immediate response is to ask about it.

So he is, of course, interrupted by the vendor calling out his order, so he holds up a finger.]

Hold that thought.

[It only takes him a couple seconds to duck over, grab the cardboard plate of food, and come back, at which point he offers it to Izzy.]

First things first, try it and tell me if you like it, but I'm also gonna ask what a seelie is once your mouth isn't full of food.

[He's curious!]

[ Is that true, though? Widowmaker turns her full attention on Hana, cool, appraising, and thoughtful. The girl does look familiar. Her eyes drift along to that little pink gun and its charm, and even that looks familiar...

And then she has it. South Korea's army, fights broadcast for each and every fan to watch up close. A star combatant. A smile curves over Widowmaker's face as Hana finally clicks into place for her. ]

You seem upset. Perhaps your first brush with enemies with beating hearts has you flustered, ma puce. This is understandable, considering your age.

A mind-controlling, hyper-intelligent, giant, sewer-dwelling gorilla who's got beef against pretty much all of humankind, yep.

[ Cisco's expression and his equally flat tone of voice suggest that he is very keenly aware of how much of a Thing it really is. Metahuman criminals can be bad, but Grodd is just fucked up and terrifying on a whole other level, if he's honest. ]

Yeah, version 1.0 was a kind of headband, which did not go very well. At all. Doesn't matter much whether you got the tech working right if the damn thing gets knocked off a guy's head two minutes into the fight.

[ Cisco listens intently when Tony speaks, next. He's always on the lookout for things he can learn about all kinds of psychic weirdness and peoples' experiences of it, here and in their own worlds. If he wants to make the earbuds effective against a variety of mind control techniques, he needs to know what techniques exist, how they work, how they feel for the people underneath them, etcetera. ]

Huh. I didn't know that. Is it electricity specifically, or just anything that breaks concentration? Are we talking... joy buzzer small or like, taser small?

[ Not exactly what Cisco would choose to call 'small' himself but he's giving Tony a broad range to choose from here. ]

Not... really. [Demons might count under that but then he's never really 'met' a demon either. Any he might have come across would have pretty much tried to kill him and his family would have taken them out before that could happen because he was never left alone unless he was in a 100 percent safe place.]

What's your world like? Are there any other people like you here too?

[The only surprise that shows is that Stark knows, not about the act itself. He remembers that, he remembers a lot of his victims. What can he say? That he's sorry? That doesn't cut it, he still murdered this man's parents.

No wonder Stark has been looking at him like an unexploded bomb, he's honestly surprised that this hasn't devolved into a fight already.]

[That's probably the wrong thing to say, but he had to say something other than 'oh'.]

Nope. [Wow, who expected that sort of answer?]

You wanna get shirtless and touch butts together? [He could not get more deadpan when he says that, but he drops the bullshit eventually.]
