who: Thor and Lucifer.
what: Thor finds a hot-tub, turns out it actually belongs to someone.
when: Some time around Carnivale, when Thor is at Drunk Nirvana.
where: Lucifer's club/domicile.
warnings: Nude men in a hot tub, talking about the existential.
This may be it for Thor. This may be the final night he takes himself out on the town. It's been a long time,
now. A week or more of non-stop partying and drinking. Thor has indulged in every pleasure, he's smothered himself in glitter, he's been fed potatoes and danced in lounges with beautiful people and danced more than he's slept. It's been nice to cut loose for a long time, without the worries of the world on his shoulders,
but he can only ignore his burdens for so long before he starts to realise why he's trying so hard to distract himself.
When he hits that point, Thor invites himself to leave. With a flick of his wrist, Mjölnir has him shooting up into the sky so he can fly the long way around to his bed. He's gliding low, utilising the scenic route to avoid going home alone to sleep. That's when he catches sight of inviting, steamy and bubbling water. He's seen hot springs before, so imagine his excitement!
On closer inspection, it's not exactly what he imagined, and it absolutely does not look like something here for random, giant blond men to use without permission. Yet, his clothing is coming off anyway. Sandals,
board shorts and a thin, hooded shirt hit the floor and he gently lays his hammer on top of the pile. Thor steps into the tub, lowering himself into it so his hair submerges in as well.
The heat and thrum of bubbling water seems to help ease his mind yet again. Thor shuts his eyes, content to relax for as long as he can do this without being caught.

"It's true, you are a gracious host. I cannot imagine what inspired such an icy reception, other than his own mind." The tone Thor uses suggests that Loki commonly makes his own issues, but he digresses.
"I am Thor, by the way. Odinson. I do not recall if I asked your name, but seeing as we've established that you are no mere mortal, I'll ask what kind of being you are."
no subject
"I've many, many siblings. Only one's older, but he likes to lord it over all of us. Pompous ass..."
no subject
"I've heard of Lucifer and the devil, but I must admit, it's mostly though expressions. I've not studied many religions outside of my own." He chuckles. "But it is nice to meet someone in a similar situation- may I ask how you came to be known as the devil?"
no subject
"Everyone needs a scapegoat. I became His."
no subject
"So your father is some sort of higher power, then? --Is that who you refer to when you say Him? Or your sibling, perhaps?"

"Such a man does not exist to me, but I've heard his name on Midgard. He's proved himself to be very influential." Maybe more so than himself or Odin, which is somewhat bothersome. "Do you find you miss any of them?"

"Perhaps there is something to be learned. Absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder, after all."

Thor holds his glass out for a refill, eager to continue with the drink. "I never shared a womb with Loki. He's adopted. I suppose we might have been raised different, though. I never knew he was adopted until I was too old to know better, just a few years ago."

He shrugs. It is what it is.
"Are you lovers, then?" He'll just cut to the chase.

But the question had him grinning, puffing out his chest slightly. "We are. She's surprisingly uninhibited in that area."
no subject
"Yes, I think I shall forever regret the day I believed mortal women were lesser beings. They've proven themselves more than adept, the Gods should fear and respect them." And learn a thing or two. You get complacent when you just assume you're the best anyone has ever had. "You didn't seem the type to be tied down, I must admit. That alone makes her admirable."

Now that he knows a little more about this guy, he does wonder what sort of destiny it entails for the both of them. It's none of his business, but he's interested.
"I was ignorant until that, until recently. They're brilliant innovators, all things considered. They have shown me much of their world and welcomed me into it, I only wish I could stay in it."

To hear Thor talk, it reminded him so strongly of being around one of his siblings. Maybe that's why he liked the man. Familiar, but not too familiar. "Well, why can't you?"
no subject
"Well, the difficult thing about living between two worlds is that you have to go back when, as they say, shit hits the fan." Thor raises his hands and shrugs. "I have seen troubling visions of Asgard. Naturally, on my way to investigate I wound up here instead."

"It is better to view it as an opportunity than to stagnate, thinking we're only trapped here until the near future." Thor struggles to speak plainly about it with someone he hardly knows, but he is genuinely curious. "Will it mean nothing to you when we are asked to return home? Would you?"
no subject
"I can't say I necessarily trust that they either can do what they promise or aren't lying through their teeth. I don't have the merit of them yet. But I'm not entirely keen on being put back where I'd been taken from. I'm still not too certain of where that was. And then there's the matter of the Detective. Chloe and I have made certain... steps here. Losing that may not be worth it for me, but losing her is just as unacceptable."
no subject
"It is a pity they cannot bring particular people in by request. Particularly children." It seems very cruel to him, separating a mother from her child. He knows they cannot control it and yet..
"I am in agreement with you. They have given me no reason to be skeptical of them and they have made every conceivable measure to welcome us and put our minds at ease, but you and I know there are higher powers out there. It seems unrealistic for them to meddle in so many worlds."
He finds it a little too easy to air those grievances, so he veers back on track. "So you'll go where she goes and hope that you both remember this when you return?"
no subject
Eww.

"You've been a very gracious host, considering I broke into your property."
