[ Loki isn't sure how the discussion took place but when Doom came to him with monetary concerns for Gramarye, he was willing to put in some effort at least. He was fond of what Gramarye was to him, even if he could care less for the people there. So Loki put forth Taako's name. After all, Taako was familiar with parties and events that garnered people's attention and set up a meeting.

Loki pulls up a chair as he waits. Perhaps he'll have some more of that delightful iced coffee while he waits. ]

[Taako is by no means an event planner, but he's managed to garner himself quite a few connections in that general area, considering he caters for bigger parties and events on occasions, supply themed desserts for corporate functions and other bullshit.

And he just likes throwing parties, so when Loki asks if he wants to help out, he's happy to say yes.

The first thing he does when he arrives is place his order for something sugary and horrendous, then he moseys his way over to claim a seat at the table with Loki. He's dressed relatively sensibly today, figuring this was bordering on a business meeting, so he's in skinny jeans and a loose fitting blouse.]

How's tricks, my dude?

[ Loki has only settled for a white shirt and black pants. He looks up in greeting with a faint cocky smile. ]

All is well enough. Yourself?

Lup is here so like, amazing?

[He can't remember the last time he was this happy, even if he knows there's a lot of shit he's going to have to deal with. Right now, everything is pretty fucking great.]

[ He blinks. ]

Your sister is here? Congratulations.

[ Loki knew they were close. ]

I'm surprised you haven't made a grand celebration of it.

Well, there was already a party going on, I didn't wanna be upstaged.

[That was part of it, but they also both needed a little time to process before dragging other people into the mix. He might do something for her later, but right now, just coming home to find her in the kitchen or raiding his wardrobe is more than he'd ever hoped for.]

If I throw some big bash I'll make sure you're on the guest list.

I would be insulted otherwise.

[ Not really. He's still not a fan of parties and Loki doubts he ever will be. Loki would leave that to his other self. ]

I highly doubt that. You don't appear to be so fickle, Loki.

[...how long has he been there? Who really knows. But Doom is here now in one of his nice suits and taking a seat.]

I do hope I'm not interrupting a conversation.

[Well, the sudden extra voice in the conversation startles Taako enough to make him jump a bit, so that's probably a little bit satisfying.]

You're good, my dude, could've used a heads up though.

[He's a bit twitchy sometimes don't judge him.]

[ Loki doesn't start as he takes a sip of his drink. ]

Not at all. Welcome, Victor.

I apologize, I'm not used to walking into places like--[don't screw this up, Victor]--most people do. I'll remember for the next time.

[If there is a next time. He gives Loki a small nod at his welcome, not at all surprised that he didn't jump.]

Thank you. Now I'm sure the two of you have at least touched on why we're meeting, correct?

That would be much appreciated.

[He's not really all that bothered, though. It's not like he dropped anything or made a complete idiot out of himself.]

And yeah, Loki covered the basics. You're throwing a party.

[To bring it straight down to the basics.]

[ Loki raises his ice coffee in acknowledgement. ]

Taako has a lot of style and substance. His contributions are valuable. And I have no doubt we can make it work.

I am throwing a party. One that would encourage people to spend their money.

[The money is the important part here.]

Style and substance is what I need from this. [There's a pause and he looks straight at Taako.] Loki suggested you and I trust him enough to take him at his word.

[Taako is caught off guard by the compliment, because style, sure, but no one's ever accused him of having substance. He glances at Loki with a little huff of laughter, before deciding not to point out how that sounds like bullshit.

He can throw a party, that's the important part.]

Cool cool cool, so like, silent auction, ticket charge, raffles, that kinda thing? I can keep costs low if I use magic for the space and catering, so that'll help. You guys got a budget for this, aside from that?

[He's willing to give away time and energy, but if anything needs to be bought, that's on them.]

[ At Victor's remark, Loki's cool gaze slides over to Victor in silent assessment before turning back to Taako. ]

Whatever magic cannot do will be budgeted. Victor has all the numbers.

Though . . . what kind of auction do you mean?

There is a budget for this, yes. I'm used to having a larger one, but it's something that can be worked with, especially if we're using magic to keep spending low.

[Being King of Latveria was more than just posturing and throwing out Doombots at his problems. If he can run a country without issue, he can definitely deal with a party like this.]

Well, that all depends on what we have to auction off.

I've got a few connections with caterers and stylists through work, might be able to get some discount.

[He's not above sweet-talking people to get things for cheap, and he can always trade favours for the future.]

For the auction, my first thought was art and nights out and shit like that, your run of the mill charity stuff. You just gotta get people to donate to a good cause. [It's only a little mocking] The other option is a bachelor-slash-ette auction, we've got plenty of those laying around and this place is all about those relationships.

The bachelor or bachelorette is bound to net more money than trinkets. And I doubt we have enough of those lying around.

[ As for a good cause, Loki doubts anyone would throw away money for that. Company well bought can be an excellent incentive. ]

We most certainly don't have enough in the way of valuables to auction off. A bachelor and bachelorette auction would work better for us.

[What he wouldn't give for his castle, undamaged and filled with priceless art, right now.]

I was thinking that this party could be a masquerade of some kind. Anonymity allows people to act differently and that could work out for us.

[He could... steal some, but that would probably be Suspicious and he doesn't know Victor well enough to judge how that particular line of reasoning would go down, so Taako just shrugs.]

Auctioning off dipshits it is, at least most of 'em are hot. [There are an unreasonable amount of attractive people.] I'm digging the masquerade idea, I can work with that.

[His favorite movie is Labyrinth he's got this.]

[ Loki purses his lips. ]

I could enchant the people when they enter. It may not be perfect but some anonymity can be maintained.

[Doom would be okay with theft, but since bachelor/ette auction seems fine, he's not going to mention that. Or the fact that he used to wear a mask.]

Enchanting them sounds like a marvelous idea. I'll see about getting the funds where they need to be and work on both informing people and seeing if we can hire some muscle in case some people don't behave.

Oh, shit, I'm into that.

[It potentially sounds like a recipe for disaster, but so do most fun things.]

The spell I'm thinking comes with a hundred servants, FYI, they can probably handle security.

[ Loki nods, already running the scenarios on how to set and activate the spell at the doorway. ]

Who should the bachelors be? Random volunteers or only those from the Institute?
