[Just as promised, when Ichimatsu shows up to floor 8, the fussy ghost isn't anywhere in the flat itself.

He's idle, out on the balcony. Taken up residence on a particularly too-small looking lounge chair, a leg stretched out on it as he stares down at the city below. This place is honestly better than being on the Eluvio--with the downside of lacking the privacy his quarters back on that ship had.

When Ichimatsu shows up, he'll wave an ungloved, scarred up hand at the other, gesturing for him to take a seat on the other lounger. He's far more suitably sized for it, at least.

There's a bag with some fresh fruit, biscuits, and canned juice in it. All things Reaper really didn't need here, in a place with so much nature.]

Anyone bother you in their way in? I can shoot at them if you want.

[Ichimatsu sits up, unsure if he ought to be following or not, and folds his legs underneath him like he plans to just as Reaper returns. He wasn't actively expecting to be handed a gun like that, but he reaches out to carefully take it. It's... heavier, maybe, than he was expecting, and he keeps his finger away from the trigger for the time being.]

...ah, dunno that I'll keep it under my pillow, Karamatsu lives with me now. He'd be liable to shoot himself on accident. Or shoot me.

[he makes a face that is almost certainly one the other won't see--but the way Reaper flinches backwards with distaste is pretty telling.]

Hide it in a fucking drawer or something. Last thing I need to hear is he shot himself in the foot by accident or something.

Best keep it somewhere safe until you figure out how to handle it, anyway.

[He nods, turning it over in his hands and inspecting it, running his fingers over it. It's clear he's not real sure what to do with it, but he appreciates it all the same.]

I hope you're prepared to teach an idiot. I don't know anything about combat or guns, outside of reading some books.

[He reaches forward...


...And smacks Ichimatsu upside the head with his hand. He'll at least avoid nicking him with his claws, but--]

Calling yourself an idiot in terms of training relieves you of responsibility of getting better.

[Things he was not expecting: that. He flinches, and looks more than a little affronted, but as a whole doesn't seem entirely bothered by the gesture. Okay, he had a point. He hadn't intended it that way, but that did kind of undermine Reaper's ability to train him. He quirks his mouth, nodding slowly and then ducking his head a little farther in a sheepish bow.]

Right. My bad.

[Sorry, man. If there's one thing he doesn't abide, it's people denoting their own capability to become stronger. When the other half-assedly apologizes--Reaper smirks under the hidden hollows of his mask.]

I'll make up a practice range for you on the outskirts of the city in the next few days. Somewhere people won't freak out at the sound of gunfire.

Last thing I need is for the assholes I live with to come running, weapons drawn, to try to take me down again.

[No apologies needed. If there's one good thing about Ichimatsu, it's that he's pretty good at taking straightforward criticism. He already thinks he's worthless garbage, if somebody gives him an actual point of specific trouble it really just gives him something to pinpoint. He swipes his hair back into its previous messy state (which, really, is not different than the shift Reaper's hand caused, but you know how cats are about their fur being ruffled), and then frowns at his hand.]

Again? What are you, some kind of vigilante? The hero we need, but not the one we deserve or some shit? [Ichimatsu when the fuck did you read Batman.]

[...Right. He and Sombra never did let those aboard the Eluvio know exactly what it was he and the other got up to before they landed on the ship.

He shakes his head.]

Don't call me a Hero. I'm far from that.

[He stretches a little, rolling his shoulders and setting the gun he was handed aside carefully, leaning back on his hands.]

I hope you're not expecting that to make me afraid of you.

[A sarcastic, almost dry laugh--as he eyes the other with a nearly tired look.]

Most people usually do get weary when I tell them shit like that.

But you never struck me as the type to be big on questionable jobs and grey morals.

I mean I was born in the sixties, even if somehow there's a weird gap where we aren't actually as old as we should be in the current year. Don't ask me how it works. [Gag anime physics, man.]

[....give him a second, born in the sixties, and yet Ichimatsu barely looks 25. He... doesn't get it. He really doesn't get it.]

Technically, that'd make you older than I am. [And that's fucked up, because he's easily twice Ichimatsu's age.]

...I've stopped trying to question how the hell time works.

[He snorts, raising an eyebrow.]

Well I mean, that mask makes you look like a teenager who wants it to be Halloween every day, so I couldn't really say if I'm older than you or not. [Ichimatsu you gon' get hit.]

[Yyyyyeah, Ichimatsu isn't at all the first person to say something like THAT to him. 'It's too early for Halloween' or 'What are you, some Tryhard goth' are sentences he's heard between here, Eluvio, and home too man times.

He doesn't answer the other right away, before he just shakes his head.]

[His hand comes up and he pulls his mask off, showing the other exactly how 'Old' he is. Then again, it's pretty hard to tell the age of a man who's got pallid, greying skin of a corpse with bits of bone and even rows of teeth showing on the left side, isn't it.]

I'd say I'm at least twice over your head, brat.

[Well at least he's not reacting poorly to the mask removal. He tilts his head a little, frowning, and then sits forward from his hands and actually stands up-- it really doesn't make him very much taller, but he stands on his toes to try and get a better look at the rot marring Gabe's features. He nods, setting back on his heels, and slips his hands into his pockets.]

I mean, I really had no way of knowing. Only other time I've seen you without that weird stuff was going on and you looked different. I'm 24, if it helps.

[He tips his head back just a little bit as Ichimatsu sits forward--a habit, no matter how you think about it. He really hated it when people stared, but it's not like he thought it unusual. Everyone had this reaction, in one form or another.

He frowns a little visibly, the visible teeth on one side of his head clicking together irritably.]

Right. when those herbs back on that shitty planet made me look normal for a few days.

[He hadn't forgotten--and he'd missed looking like that. normal. Not rotting away.]

[His stumpy little eyebrows raise toward his hairline and he nods, frowning in an odd sort of appraisal.]

You look pretty good for 56, even with the spooky aesthetic. And yeah. I actually missed my own 24th birthday.

'Spooky Aesthetic', you call it. Died when I was in my 30s, guess I just didn't age much.

[He scoffs, a light grin on his face that makes his face twist with the world's longest and most unsettling smile before he just shakes his head.]

I can't bake, and birthday parties are overrated anyway.

That'd explain it. [Ichimatsu frowns, rolling his eyes.] I said I missed my birthday, I didn't say I wanted a party. It's just age, I just wasn't here on the date so it was weird to still think I was 23.

[He gives a low snort in reply, just waving one of his hands after a moment.]

Wasn't being serious. [Read: Reaper was joking. Reaper.]

That aside...

Age only matters in certain cases. You could be ancient and still be an idiot.

[Rotty Grandpa knows how to joke? Nnnahhh. Ichimatsu shrugs and curls back away, stretching his feet out straight in front of him when he sits back down.]

Yeah but usually younger doesn't mean smarter, either.
