who: Buffy Summers
what: Coffee shop ,patrol, blood donation, exploration of the area
when: March 21-27
where: Perimeter, clinic, general area
warnings: TBD
Morning is spent working her shift at the coffee shop. Being a barista is something that worked out for her at home and something that she chose to do here. As far as jobs go, she likes being a barista. Once her shift is done there, she'll head out for an early afternoon patrol.
The brownouts had made Buffy a little nervous, but when the blackouts started she got even more nervous. The assurances that the perimeter fence will hold don't do much to assure Buffy. She prefers patrol as a means of assurance. Besides, it's something she knows how to do. She can be found patrolling along the fence with a stake in hand. She looks casual and relaxed. In fact, she might not look like she's paying any attention at all, but especially where Buffy is concerned, looks can be deceiving.
She'd read the announcement about needing blood donations both for injuries and for food sources. It hits close enough to home that she stops by the clinic and donates blood (but not any tissue because she's a little weirded out by that). She gives some warnings about her blood possibly being like crack to vampires and maybe stick to using it for an injury since it could also help with some speedy healing.
Between afternoon patrol and evening patrol, Buffy does some exploring around town, checking things out and not only trying to get the layout of the town, but get an idea of how people are reacting to the power issues as well.

Coffeeshop
Re: Coffeeshop
Maybe it's a bad sign, but it's an action that Buffy can sympathize with. She's very attached to her morning cup of coffee. The fact that she's already had one at home while she was getting ready makes her a little more chipper and awake when she approaches the coffee shop door, keys in hand. "Morning," she says in a voice that's not too chipper. After all, it is still morning and coffee does not make her a morning person instantly, at least not without multiple cups of coffee.
Once she gets the door unlocked, she holds it open for the man that looks like he's in dire need of coffee. "I'll get a pot brewing," she promises as she she ducks behind the counter. Because he's waiting, she'll get the coffee brewing first then proceed to open the rest of the shop.
Coffeeshop
"NNGGFFFFF." That's about as coherent as he can get right now.
Nah, he can do better. And he should. "Thanks. Rough night." Well, at least he's still got a grip on the obvious?
Re: Coffeeshop
The noise he makes gets a surprised laugh out of Buffy. "Sounds like someone is even less of a morning person than I am," she tells him, but to be fair, she's already had one cup of coffee at home. Once the coffee is started, she starts setting everything else up: pastries in the glass case, chairs come down off the tables. As soon as there's enough coffee in the pot for a cup, she pours him one, leaving room at the top for cream if he's that sort of person.
"Want a pastry with that?" she asks as she hands over the cup.

Which he might grab that cup from her hand as she's bringing it over, like it is the very stuff of life itself.
Which it kind of is. Excuse him for a second, while he tosses back a good swallow, and who even cares if it scalds his throat? "Oh god, that's the stuff," he groans. He's gonna take a second to let it do its magic before he answers. "Yeah, that'd be great."
It hits him a moment later that he could, now that he's caffeinated, also add some manners. "Name's Scott, by the way."

If it helps, she likes him better for not being a morning person. She doesn't trust people who are perky in the morning.
That action makes her like him more as well. She's more than occasionally cave-Buffy about her first cup of coffee. Only not literally cave-Buffy because she was that once and it's better that she's never that again.
She winces on his behalf then grins when he seems okay and comes alive a little. "Any preferences?" she asks. "I've got cream cheese danish, croissants, a fruit tart and coffee cake."
It's okay, she was going to let him get a bit more caffeinated before she insisted on introductions, but since he seems prepared for it: "I'm Buffy. It's nice to meet you, Scott. So do I want to know what caused the rough night or is that more personal than you're willing to be with your barista?"

Here's his thoughtful face as he ponders the list of choices. "Fruit tart sounds...way too healthy." Clearly, a must-avoid. "Croissants are French." Clearly, too early for French anything right now. "Let's go for the danish." Clearly, a logical and powerful mind at work.
"Been trying to fix the power grid." By the way the power's been blinking all night, yeah, it hasn't been a night full of winning.
