Red Robin:

There's a new vigilante running a nighttime patrol of the city. He's caped, decked out in red and green light armor He doesn't seem to have special abilities because he uses gear to swing between vantage points and rooftops. He does, however, appear to be highly trained and adept at disappearing into the shadows despite his uniform's coloring, which makes it difficult to watch him beyond a stray glance if you're not superhuman or equally trained.

If you're quick and careful you might catch him on a computer built into the armor of his forearm, sitting on the ledge of a rooftop. Riverview, even taking the monsters into account, is much more peaceful than his home. The police aren't corrupt, they do their jobs and it leaves a significantly lesser need for vigilantism. Red Robin knows this is the ideal. The whole goal of their mission is to make themselves unnecessary. He just didn't bank on how boring it might end up.

University:

There's a new student around campus who may be inciting some whispers. He's got over a full course load at six classes, but he isn't showing any of the usual symptoms of overworked stress over achieving students have been known to. He's a freshman with a load of programming and engineering courses at as high of a level as he could get into without pre-requisite. Tim had grabbed as many as he could, to keep busy, but also because he wanted to learn as much as he could about this world's technologies and how to better work with them with his job. If he was working for the guard, he didn't want lives to depend on work he didn't understand.

He can be found coming out of a class or studying in the library, even going through the stacks or computer accessible files for more about the city and the moon itself. If you've met Tim before and you see him now, there's a marked change. He's still tired, and worn, but he's not the bland polite teenager he usual is in public. He looks enthused, and possibly even happy.

Tim had used a significant portion of the money he'd had on him when he came through the portal to build a small wardrobe for classes and the job he'd been offered. The rest went to repairing the Red Robin suit. He hoped it paid off. He smoothed his hands down his slacks,realizing he'd been incredibly privileged to work with the Foxes and Bruce who know how smart and skilled he is simply from having been present as he grew up.

He'd never had to prove himself to an entire group of strangers as Tim Drake rather than Robin, or Red Robin. He's never had to serve as someone's assistant. He's got plans, the ideas from speaking with Bucky were the least of them, but he hoped they would be enough to earn the respect of his co-workers and not end up fetching coffee. He approached the door and used the access he'd been provided with to enter cautiously.

"Good afternoon? I'm Tim Drake-Wayne."

It's strange to have free time. Tim's taking six courses, working, and patrolling, but he still has more time than he did at home. There's no villain on the loose, or case to solve. There were strange things going on, but there was also a case of too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak. Plenty of people were around with the skills and will to use them to help out others.

So, Tim focused on an extra-curricular activity of sorts. Eventually, something would come along and require a massive network of people to solve. It was just the way the world worked where he was from. There was an ever escalating scale of danger. He wanted to be prepared if life held true with the same lemons in the Quarantine. Hence, his trip to see Cisco Ramon. He was starting with all the allies he could find from home. Hopefully, once he'd made contact with all of them they could find people they mutually trusted to begin expanding the network with.

Tim knocks politely and waits to see if Cisco is in his lab.

More than one new vigilante, from the looks of things. And Red must be the "in" color for vigilantism, because this one is also decked out in a red bodysuit - with black spots. It isn't so much a need to patrol the city, but swinging around via yoyo, and finding occasional shortcuts along the rooftops does wonders to clear her head. Red Robin may see her swinging past - she doesn't notice him though, since he's more experience in the stealth department. She's never had need to work from the shadows.

[ Cisco's just about gotten used to strangers dropping by his lab; it had been pretty weird at first, since he'd been so used to working at S.T.A.R. Labs where the only unexpected guests were bad guys who had broken in past the woeful security. Here, though, he's not secretly working in a place that is supposed to be condemned and off-limits, so he gets a fair amount of traffic.

So when he hears a knock at the door, it's a surprise, but not a shock. Cisco pushes his safety goggles up onto his head and comes to the door to see who is there. It's not a face he recognizes, but he still greets Tim with a grin and says: ]

Hey, sup?

[ Formal and businesslike manners are not exactly Cisco's strong suit. ]

Dolores went to the college library, she was hoping for more about the Quarantine and its history. Her boss had suggested her demeanor wasn't good for business, so she had the week off, and she'd been surprised at how easy her homework was. She had set-up at a table with a few books, glancing around at any new faces. Some of it was paranoia, she just liked her quiet. Some of it was looking for distractions, all work and no play and all that.

When she saw Tim, she waved with a little smirk. She remembered him, and that weird gift she got given, the conversation was a little fuzzy. Probably nothing important in it. Her hair was a nice simple white, and her clothes were decidedly different from the cute and fashionable Lola. If he came over she wouldn't mind the company, she thought. If he didn't, well, his loss.

[ What is it with heroes and rooftops? Did they think they were hidden? With a curl on his lips, he sneaks up, invisible to all senses before uncloaking himself, leaning down to whisper in Tim's ear. ]

Boo.

{Intentionally startling a vigilante is an excellent way to incite bodily harm. Tim's fist flashes out backwards in a show of speed and flexibility, catching on Loki's face before he twists and leaps on top of the mechanical unit on the roof.}

Was that necessary?

{It was a scare, meant to startle and instigate, not an attack, so Tim doesn't press forward or draw a weapon.}

[ The blow is glancing and barely makes Loki twitch. He chuckles instead. ]

Yes, actually. You were asking for it, brooding on rooftops.

{Tim's mind is instantly running calculations for what minimal gear he has and how he can use it to take on a meta of indeterminate abilities if necessary. It doesn't look good for him.

Which doesn't mean he won't try if he needs to.}

I wasn't brooding.

{He's smiling below the domino mask, almost laughing. If this guy thought that was brooding....well, it was unlikely he'd seen Nightwing in a sulk, and definitely not Batman even on a good day.}

[ Loki shrugs. He doesn't care for the definition of brooding. ]

Well, you certainly weren't being open. Is this a normal way to spend your time?

{Red Robin lifts and drops one shoulder in a small shrug back.}

It's a lot busier at home. Lots of murder and mayhem to deter and shut down.

I highly doubt that'll be the case here.

So this is you trying to feel validated in a world that needs no heroes?

[ Typical. ]

Red Robin tails the strange cat-suited girl several blocks, watching her movements and trying to assess if she had any meta abilities or particular goals in her destination. He was unable to form any conclusions except for believing she might be slightly enhanced just from the way she went about without armor and with only a yo-yo as transportation. He bet it doubled as her form of defense as well.

He bides his time and then eventually lightly lands on a building just overlooking her own touch down spot. "Good evening." He says politely. There was no need to assume there was reason to start a fight. This wasn't Gotham and he wasn't chasing her out of Bat territory.

I've got plenty of other hobbies.

{Not that it's any of this guy's business, but it's true. Tim was even going to give Red Robin up for school and invention before the whole drone army and space/time prison captivity incident came to pass.

At the same time, this was like vacation. He could be Red Robin without all the danger it normally held. It felt like cheating somehow, to get what he wanted without paying a price.}

And yet, you're doing none of them in the middle of the night. And I'll assume costume design is not one of them.

{Tim isn't exactly surprised because he was trying not to expect anything of a Flash teammate, but it's always nice to find someone who looks approachable on the other end of a business meeting. He smiles back, much smaller.}

Hey, you're Cisco Ramon? I'm Tim. I was speaking to you anonymously about some work you've done with Barry Allen?

{Red Robin does laugh this time. This guy should have seen his last costume with the showgirl wings as Steph calls them.}

Well, this is the only one really suited for the nightlife. It's pretty fun to swing around rooftops when no one's trying to kill you.

[ How . . . oddly casual. The laugh throws him off. ]

That seems masochistic, especially since you can't fly.

{This guy is weirdly antagonistic, but it's like talking with Damian since his reform. He's trying to get a reaction, not genuinely actively plotting the deaths of Red Robin or his various allies, so Red relaxes just a touch.}

It might be, a little, but if you've worked your whole life to be able to do something, and you enjoy it, why give it up even if it's not serving it's original purpose? I can still enjoy the efforts I've made for myself.

You worked your whole life . . . to be able to gallivant from building to building.

[ Heroes need help. ]

That is both an exaggeration and a simplification.

{It would take time and emotion Tim isn't willing to give to a stranger to explain himself, but he can give a little more than he already has.}

I worked to be self sufficient. I don't need a meta to get from one place to another, or to gather information for me. The gallivanting is a fun bonus.

[ He blinks. ]

A meta?

It's a term used on my world to mean someone who has abilities outside the human range of normal, but is still from Earth. The lines get a little blurry with aliens and magic users, but meta is a generally accepted catch-all term.

{Red Robin explains patiently with no condescension. He recognizes not everything is going to be familiar between worlds and it's a harmless enough bit of information.}

I am not from Earth and I doubt such a term applies to me.

Her guard was completely open - if this were a different kind of situation someone would have easily been able to get the drop on her. Heck, if Red Robin had wanted to he would could have easily done so -- probably. She's surprised at first, but glances up to where he's landed. Smiling pleasantly, she lifted a hand in greeting, "Good evening! Looks like I wasn't the only one with the same idea tonight, huh?" This was the first time she went this particular way on her patrol route - maybe this was his usual area?
