[Open] Haven't seen the best of us yet~
who: Red Robin or Tim Drake-Wayne and You.
what: General open post and a few promised closed starters
when: 19th - 30th
where: All over!
warnings: No content warnings yet. Spoilers for DC Rebirth.
Red Robin:
There's a new vigilante running a nighttime patrol of the city. He's caped, decked out in red and green light armor He doesn't seem to have special abilities because he uses gear to swing between vantage points and rooftops. He does, however, appear to be highly trained and adept at disappearing into the shadows despite his uniform's coloring, which makes it difficult to watch him beyond a stray glance if you're not superhuman or equally trained.
If you're quick and careful you might catch him on a computer built into the armor of his forearm, sitting on the ledge of a rooftop. Riverview, even taking the monsters into account, is much more peaceful than his home. The police aren't corrupt, they do their jobs and it leaves a significantly lesser need for vigilantism. Red Robin knows this is the ideal. The whole goal of their mission is to make themselves unnecessary. He just didn't bank on how boring it might end up.
University:
There's a new student around campus who may be inciting some whispers. He's got over a full course load at six classes, but he isn't showing any of the usual symptoms of overworked stress over achieving students have been known to. He's a freshman with a load of programming and engineering courses at as high of a level as he could get into without pre-requisite. Tim had grabbed as many as he could, to keep busy, but also because he wanted to learn as much as he could about this world's technologies and how to better work with them with his job. If he was working for the guard, he didn't want lives to depend on work he didn't understand.
He can be found coming out of a class or studying in the library, even going through the stacks or computer accessible files for more about the city and the moon itself. If you've met Tim before and you see him now, there's a marked change. He's still tired, and worn, but he's not the bland polite teenager he usual is in public. He looks enthused, and possibly even happy.
Open/Wild Card/TDM Prompts:
If you live on Floor 12, work with the Perimeter Guard, or just want to meet Tim and the above situations don't work, ping me

That seems masochistic, especially since you can't fly.

It might be, a little, but if you've worked your whole life to be able to do something, and you enjoy it, why give it up even if it's not serving it's original purpose? I can still enjoy the efforts I've made for myself.

[ Heroes need help. ]

{It would take time and emotion Tim isn't willing to give to a stranger to explain himself, but he can give a little more than he already has.}
I worked to be self sufficient. I don't need a meta to get from one place to another, or to gather information for me. The gallivanting is a fun bonus.
no subject
A meta?

{Red Robin explains patiently with no condescension. He recognizes not everything is going to be familiar between worlds and it's a harmless enough bit of information.}
no subject
I am Loki. No doubt, you recognize the name.

{Red Robin is very good at seeming unperturbed by this news. He is in fact, plotting all his escape routes. He's seen the results of a battle with a greek god. He's not keen to see how the Norse measure up.
The other Loki had seemed much nicer.}
no subject
That is what your people called us.

{Tim won't ever pass up an opportunity for information if he can help it.}

[ Says Loki, whose identity is mired in complications and hatred. ]
no subject
{Himself included.}

[ That's why superheroes mostly don't have secret identities. So they can bask in the adoration of the public. ]

It depends on how many shades of their identity you know, I guess, and there's a lot of actions speak louder than masks, but it keeps people safe. {He grimaces, thinking about his dad.}
Well, more or less it helps keep people safe.
no subject
Or does it keep you safe?
no subject
It's not perfect, by any means, but it keeps other people safe a lot more than it works for me.
no subject
Of course it does.
no subject
{Because Tim is always going to be curious.}
no subject
[ He shrugs. Loki does whatever he wants. He is chaos. ]
I'm not stalking anyone or tempting fate by leaning over large drops.

Stalking is Friday night's game plan, today's was general lurking. Leaning over large drops is an occupational hazard I like to think I've turned into a hobby.
{If all else fails a Robin, run your mouth. It was nice to know some instincts never went away.}

Yeah, I'm gathering that, it doesn't hurt to stay in practice, but it's nice, too, to not need to be here.
{To know staying in a night might not cost lives.}
