[open] comfort comes to those with faith in mysterious ways
who: Thor and open for people looking to train/garden
what: Thor extends an offer to help train people, desperately pleads for help with gardening
when: during or after the butterfly effect event, up to you guys (he's not changed).
where: The Gymiest place there is, Communal Housing
warnings: Violence? Sadgardian.
i. Training
[Thor allots time with everyone who takes interest in his offer to train together. Usually it's an early morning, but he's flexible depending on when Search and Rescue needs him. He locates a gym and arrives early, setting up with punching bags and make-shift, training weapons that resemble small, sturdy pool noodles. It's not easy to find a lot of swords here.
He's requested the ability to have a private room, away from sweaty people on treadmills, and the need is accommodated given both necessity and charm.
He's dressed casually. Sweatpants, a grey cotton shirt and his hair pulled back tight in a ponytail with a silver clasp that he rarely removes. Anyone who knows him as the glorious, cape-wearing god will probably be taken aback by the fact that he looks like a hippy gym teacher.
He'll be happy to see you when you arrive.]
ii. Gardening
[If you take Thor up on the offer to help him with gardening, he will gladly invite you to his communal housing room. He has a set up of various wilted plants in the sunlight of a window, gardening magazines strewn about.]

[ That statement curbs his mood slightly as Loki goes hesitant. ]
I heard there is a magical artifact affecting the people here. I believe it has gotten to me as well.
no subject
Perhaps I have changed in a manner I'm not properly aware of. Perhaps I am a Thor who is terrible at gardening.
no subject
You could never change that much.
no subject
He touches him. He places a hand on his shoulder, raising a brow to give Loki a grave, hurt look.]
Perhaps my efforts are fruitless, then.
no subject
For now. No doubt you'll bear fruit later.
no subject
[Thor asks, despite knowing the answer. He delivers a playful poke to Loki's side, just rough enough that it might hurt a little.]
no subject
[ He chuckles, taking the poke before straightening himself. ]
Besides, I would be awful to hit a man while he's down on his luck. Especially with botany. What would Mother say?
no subject
She'd sooner chide me for letting them die so pitifully. [He tries not to consider the deeper, alternate meaning of that.]
Since you're in high spirits, perhaps you could help me fix them? It's what she would have wanted.
no subject
Loki could believe that, even if he cannot imagine it. ]
I will try my best. I confess, the art of living creatures is not one I have perfected.
no subject
And if it is, we shall go find me a new hobby.
no subject
I predict that it will involve fists.
no subject
I'm looking for something.. [He gestures.] Soothing. Or practical. It becomes tiresome, you know, being known only for your strength. [He pauses.] And I have already begun to teach others to use their fists.
no subject
[ He says it coolly, without a hint of bitterness or disdain. If it is weary in its weight, it does not hold for long. ]
So you wish to be known for a gentler touch? You might have a long road ahead of you, brother.
no subject
I don't so much mind if I'm known for it, but it would be nice to occupy myself with it. [He shoots his plants a disappointed look.]
I am not so desperate as to weave tapestries, however
.
no subject
[ He stoops to touch one of the leaves thoughtfully. ]
I think you put them in the sun for too long. Knowing what kind of plant it is would help too.
[ Rising, Loki gives Thor a flat look. ]
Do you know what they're called?
no subject
I bought them from the markets, from a stall. They told me the names, I'm sure, but it didn't seem important at the time. [He shrugs.]
Can you save them or not?
no subject
I might be able to salvage them. There's no guarantee after that, Thor.

[ He shifts the pots closer to the shade. His magic seeps into the wilted plants and they slowly recover. They don't look perfect, but it is a vast improvement. ]
no subject
Brilliant! It's as if they never came to know the scourge known as Thor. [His hand is still on Loki's shoulder, and he squeezes.] How can I repay you?
no subject
Let us see if these survive the year and I shall consider us even.
did you want to go any further with this one?
no this sounds like a good place
Very well. Lead the way, brother.
