who: Badou Nails
yaylungcancer and Garrus Vakarian
dispenserofjustice
what: Badou's trying to help Garrus figure out where he's staying, despite also being a new arrival himself.
when: Not long after this post.
where: Between the portal and community housing.
warnings: Maybe cussing?
[Even with being told to look for a non-human individual, and his own experience with animal-human hybrids... He wasn't expecting what he found. Not that it mattered at all to him, but this place was pretty constantly surprising him. He waves as he gets closer.]
Hey! Sorry I took a little longer than I thought. The walk was a little further than I thought.

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing too. The people in charge seem to insist that they don't usually get inside, but... Best to be safe.
By the way, I hope you're okay with sharing a room with a bunch of strangers, because that's where all newcomers apparently get shoved.

[That's what being in the military and being Turian in general gets you.]
I'm with you. I really don't want to test the theory that these things can't get inside.

[He silently debates how much he should talk about Giovanni. He definitely doesn't want to put people at risk, but how dangerous could he be without his mother here to order him around?]
Oh, actually, that reminds me of another thing you may not have been told yet. You'll get a month of free board in the building, but after that you're expected to get a job.

[Usually Garrus will be the judge of that. However, there's nothing wrong with taking advice from others. Suspicion is a healthy thing that keeps people from making stupid mistakes.]
Ha. A job. I was offered one when I got here. So I guess that's covered.

[He almost didn't say anything about Giovanni's stupid powers, but he figured what the hell. It would probably keep more people safe to be liberal with spreading that information.]
Well, that's one thing out of the way then. Apparently you can also get your name on a list of people to go back home, if you didn't get to that point in the conversation.

[Everything dies. It's just a matter of finding out how much the thing in question can take. Everything has a breaking point. Everything.]
I had gotten to that point, yeah. That's where those people and I had a bit of a disagreement.
no subject
Oh, that makes sense. Tried to get them to tell you how to get back?

[Garrus motions to the scars on his face.]
Rocket to the face.
[And he's far from unkillable. Might be nice to think of in some situations. But really, it's neither here nor there.]
Yeah, I did. Didn't exactly work out.
