[ open ]
who: Eichi & You! (Some closed prompts in here, too)
what: Catch-all for the AU event!
when: FORWARD DATED 6-14 through 6-24
where: Various places in the quarantine
warnings: Uhhh health talk that's about it
[The most difficult thing to deal with in regards to Eichi's ambition is probably his health. He's been feeling mostly good for the past month, taking it easy, so why was it that now that he wanted to really get things done, even taking a walk was making his chest ache? Each beat of his heart was throbbing, irregular, and something as simple as taking in oxygen was painful in a way that's hard to put to words.
Despite that, he's really determined to get to where he wants to be. He could be on any of the crowded streets of the city, stumbling a little too much if anyone bumps into his shoulder. This is an issue that goes on for days— he walks, his body strains, and a coughing fit turns into something worse.
You could run into him:
A. Literally fainting on you, sorry
B. Coughing up blood as he supports himself against the wall of some building
C. Looking paler than ever and asking for directions
D. He's not watching where he's going and runs into someone
He's a mess. Hopefully he doesn't get sick on anyone.]
(OOC: I just thought I'd throw up an open post too for anyone who wants new CR and didn't plot with me! If you can't work with this prompt, just hit me up and I'll write us something closed that works better.)

tsumugi appears nonetheless
The image of their last performance as fine flashes through his mind, and Tsumugi quickly rushes to Eichi's rescue, catching the sickly boy in his arms before he hits the ground. This is bad. Real bad. ]
Eichi-kun! [ Oh no. Oh nonononono, why now, he literally just got here a few days ago -- ] Eichi-kun, are you all right? [ Such an obvious question, but he wants to hear it from him as he presses the back of his hand at Eichi's forehead and neck, checking his temperature. So deathly cold... ]
HE!!!!!!
Tsumugi...?
[What on earth is he doing in a place like this, so conveniently? Well, he won't criticize it. It's thanks to him that he didn't end up hitting the concrete. A head injury sustained from something like that would be too much to deal with, right now.
He's so cold and pale that he might be proclaimed dead if it weren't for that struggling heartbeat of his still going. One of his hands moves to grip Tsumugi's arm to steady himself, and he tries to stand more completely, bringing his free hand immediately to his forehead.]
No matter where I go, you're always there offering me help like this. Thank you.
him :(
He may not be the strength for it, but he may as well damn try. He shifts his hand around and hoists Eichi up in a bridal carry, head turning left to right to find the nearest hospital or something. ]
Do you want to go to the hospital? I can take you there. [ Just going to ask first before doing anything rash. ]
no subject
Which brings him to that question... The hospital. Just thinking about it makes him want to decline, but as that thought runs through his mind a cough shakes his body and he leans his head against Tsumugi's shoulder, eyes closed.]
I'd like to avoid it, if possible, but I'm not sure if I can. [He coughs again.] Perhaps if you could carry me somewhere to rest for a while, I can see if it gets any better. Surely with a Bluebird of Happiness at my side, I'll recover quickly...
[He's trying to make light of it, but he's also in the past here.]
no subject
He finds a bench just a couple steps away and half-runs to it, propping Eichi up on it while letting him lean on his shoulder for now. His mind is racing, figuring out ways how to make him feel just a teeny bit better without imprisoning him in a hospital yet again. ]
I could get you some water if you want? Or maybe your medication? Did they ever give you some when you first ended up here?
no subject
[He coughs, leaning heavily where he is, though, and not making it very easy for him to leave and go get him water. His breathing is as shaky as his hands, and he looks terribly pale.]
I thought that with the technology here, I could avoid something like this, but it seems I was wrong. Even though I've just missed all of last year due to being hospitalized, now I risk going back again, even in this new place. [Something doesn't match up here...]
no subject
Last year? Eichi-kun, don't you remember?
[ Oh god, he's getting delirious. He has to get them to a much better place than a bench on a sidewalk. ]
no subject
[Ah, but he goes into a coughing fit again.]
no subject
Eichi-kun, we're not in second year anymore. You're delirious from all this, aren't you?
[ He sits up all of a sudden and cradles Eichi against him as he slowly lifts him off the bench again. ]
Where have you been staying? I should get you home for now.
no subject
[That really confuses Eichi. He has memories of this place, and of running into Tsumugi, but all of the parts that contradict with his memories of home, right now, are blurred. He doesn't remember their reactions to their old uniforms, or any of that. His eyebrows furrow as he covers cough after cough.]
We're second years, of course. I haven't slept away all of my time in the hospital even if it feels like it, you know.
[He's so troubled by this (and his cough) that he doesn't get out his floor number yet.]
no subject
Eichi-kun, I'm no longer the class representative. We're not even in the same classes anymore.
[ He lowers his head and bites his lip. Why does it have to be him to break everything to him? ]
...We're no longer unitmates either.
no subject
[He wasn't calculating for something like that, and so his heart rate spikes and he panics. All the things he'd have to rearrange... How could he do it alone? He thought Tsumugi was going to support him? He— coughs again.]
Could you please stop saying such bewildering things? It's bad for my heart. If you could take me to Floor 7 of the housing unit, I'm in room 4.
[He has to close his eyes again from how dizzy he feels. This isn't right, none of this is right.]
no subject
But Tsumugi's only human after all who's not even supposed to be considered as strong compared to the likes of Kiryu or Morisawa, so instead of going all the way up to the seventh floor, he'll go straight to the fourth floor -- the private rooms, where his own room is located. Using up the last of his strength, he manages to get through the door and place Eichi on the couch before collapsing onto the floor himself. Hah, so much work... Lugging around books don't take up too much energy compared to this.
He gets up again after a few minutes, throwing a worried look at Eichi before going off to the kitchen to prepare some things. He'll wake up soon enough... right? ]
no subject
He's so dizzy, it takes him a moment to remember what's going on. Surely that's the reason for this mind blur and nothing else... Tsumugi is certainly part of Fine, and he doesn't understand what's causing him to act out like this. Losing him would place him too far back in his plans; he can't have that.]
Tsumugi...? [This isn't his room, he realizes, and when he tries to push himself up on the couch, his arm strength is too weak to let him. So he continues to lie here, eyes drifting back closed again as he waits.]
no subject
You're awake. [ Letting out a sigh of relief, he quickly approaches Eichi and places the tray of food on the coffee table. ] Do you want to sit up? Here, let me help you--
[ And he sits beside Eichi and carefully pulls him up in a sitting position. He still feels cold... Tsumugi bites his lip with worry. ]
What if I go back to your room and get your medication for you? You don't have to go anywhere for now.
no subject
[He feels dizzy, so it's hard for him to even think of food and drink, but he'll probably need both in a second. Especially to take his medicine.]
Wait, Tsumugi... About what you were saying back there... You aren't planning on leaving Fine, are you? I know this place is different, but it's difficult imagining moving forward without you by my side.
no subject
[ Don't look at him like that, it's making Tsumugi's poor heart twist into knots. How is Tsumugi going to explain that it was him who terminated the contract between them in the first place? Eichi's still very delirious so he shouldn't take advantage of his sick state either, so... ]
Technically, since we are in a different place, we don't have to be Fine, right?
[ There. That's easier to swallow. ]
I'll answer any question you have as soon as I get back from you room. May I borrow your keys for a moment?
no subject
I suppose you have a point.
[He doesn't sound very happy about it, but now he's thinking. Thinking and delusional, it seems.] They should be in my dresser by the bed. You'll know which it is, I think.
[His bed is the one not covered in trash.]
no subject
[ And with that, out he goes. Still pondering over what's been happening to Eichi today, he takes the elevator and closes his eyes.
Looks like his job as Eichi's organizer isn't done yet, but only because Eichi apparently doesn't remember. Shouldn't they move on from all that? What was the point of ending a contract when Eichi's going to request for his help again? Does... he still think that Tsumugi's only doing it for the money? Eichi may not be rich in this world anymore, but he can get more cash if he performs more and more, rising up the ranks as an idol. Maybe that's why?
This is making his head hurt and his heart weak. He stops at the 4th floor and goes straight to Eichi's room as indicated. And... yep, it's like it hasn't lived in for months. Just who the hell is Eichi's roommate, and why are they being so inconsiderate of him? What nerve.
But he's not here to get angry at the disastrous state of this room, nor to clean some of it. He sees the dresser left untouched and grabs every bottle of medication he can get his hands on (and boy there's a lot), and carries them all up back to his room. ]
no subject
But now Tsumugi is acting oddly and Eichi didn't calculate for it in his plans. Wasn't he an agreeable boy that would do anything to please him? It doesn't make any sense, and he certainly didn't expect it to hurt his chest as much as it does.
He's still not feeling great, but he'll reach forward and tear off a piece of bread to nibble on until Tsumugi returns. Once he does, he'll thank him, indicating that he can set the medicine down on the table and he'll take it in just a second.]
no subject
Here you go. At least you're eating now. That's good.
[ Taking a seat next to Eichi, Tsumugi presses the back of his hand at the other male's forehead, checking his temperature once more. He uh, still can't really tell, but he thinks the color has come back to Eichi's cheeks, so maybe he's finally feeling a bit better? ]
no subject
You know, Tsumugi... I was thinking, and there are portions of our conversations in this place that I can't recall at all, even if they were only days ago. Isn't that strange?
[He has no idea what is going on to cause Tsumugi to want to leave Fine so badly, but it does feel like this might have to do with it.] Memory loss has never been an issue of mine.
no subject
It also doesn't explain the age regression either. Do you really think you're still a second year?
[ And you know, it's not as if Tsumugi had wanted to leave in the first place. He remembers the contract that he'd thought was a piece of paper and his eyes glazes over. ]
You need to rest for now. And then maybe we can get you checked at the hospital later.
[ He doesn't like sending Eichi to the hospital either, but Tsumugi's all out of ideas. He's so useless with this, isn't he? ]
no subject
[It doesn't make sense? None of this makes sense, and he reaches for the water and takes some medicine.]
I'd rather not go back to that place. Maybe there's someone else who we can ask about this sort of thing.
no subject
I mean, I've grown out my hair since then, right? Even added in some highlights, too. See? [ just swishes his hair back and forth a bit ] This just proves that time has passed since then, Eichi-kun. I don't know how else to make you believe me.
But I'll go ask around the network just in case. Maybe it's not just you who's experiencing this. In the meantime, you should stay in my room till then. I've seen yours and... I'm sorry, but it looks too unlivable for someone like you. Who's your roommate anyway?
