[Welcome to Bryn's apartment. The door is unlocked, and personal belongings can be tossed up onto the bed just at the top of the stairs. The party's theme is apparent at once. As mentioned on the network post, gold and glitz is strongly encouraged (though no one will be turned away for lacking either) in clothing, jewelry, accessories, or however creatively someone would like to incorporate it. Those interested in participating but lacking anything gold or glitzy will find gold glitter body gel to spread on their skin, compliments of the hostess. There's a bar cart by the front door with a sign that reads WELCOME in gold script. It's laden with short shot glasses filled with what looks like liquid gold. When imbibed, however, it tastes like a faintly peach-flavored vodka. The rest of the alcohol and mixers can be found in the kitchen. Clear plastic cups feature labels that can be written on in gold permanent marker, then filled with any number of beverages. Really, there's no real rhyme or reason to what's available, as guests have been encouraged to bring whatever they like and add it to the kitchen island. For those who don't drink alcohol, there's a sign on the fridge indicating that non-alcoholic drinks and mixers are kept within. Anyone looking to fill their stomach a little between drinks will find platters of finger foods available throughout the apartment. Gold macarons, cheese and crackers, sliced fruit and vegetables are plentiful, but guests who are quick enough may find they can grab some of the thinly sliced beef arranged around a bowl of spicy dipping sauce. Of note, there is also a plate of gold fortune cookies for guests. While it's noted there's only enough for one per person, the fortunes feature not only a fortune but a party challenge. Dance with a stranger? Eat nothing that isn't fed to you? Try your hand at inventing a new drink? Why not try it and see what happens? Play a game of party jenga for that matter. Beyond all this, anyone attending is encouraged to mingle and enjoy themselves. There's ample seating throughout the apartment for people to sit back and enjoy their food and drinks, including a plush rug in one corner covered in floor cushions and pillows around a hookah with a variety of flavors of tobacco. For those who are more inclined to activity there's space enough to dance to the music that booms throughout the apartment. With the windows open the space stays well aired out and comfortable, inviting any who attend to linger as long as they like. By the looks of things the hostess has no intention of kicking anyone out no matter how late it gets...] |

[ Still though . . . Loki unabashedly stares at the tile. What is twerking and why do mortals invent new words for the most banal of reasons?? ]
no subject
I can make neither heads nor tails of it. [ She's sure Sera would know what twerking was, and would laugh at the pair of them for being so stymied by it. But again, Sera isn't here, and the mere reminder of that fact is enough to drive Angela to drink from the concoction in her cup. ]
no subject
Have I driven you to drink already?
no subject
Not you. Just... [ She gestures to the room around them. ]...I am not the best at navigating such affairs on my own.
no subject
Why come?
[ Honest curiosity on his part. ]
no subject
Parties are about smalltalk, and I don't... speak... well.
no subject
Not necessarily. Perhaps a good contest will help where words cannot. Action can speak as loud as any in a party.
no subject
Are you suggesting I try... "twerking?"
no subject
Well, perhaps not that specifically. But that is what the game is for. To make conversation where one might struggle. Prompts, if you will.
no subject
[ She finishes her drink (the alcohol does barely anything to her), and sets down her empty cup, facing the game with her arms crossed and her jaw set. ]
How does one play?
no subject
I believe you're meant to remove a tile without letting the formation crumble. And then you have to enact the prompt given.
no subject
Truth or dare? Ask the person to your right.
[ Well, it's only herself and Loki at the table. She looks at him expectantly. ]
no subject
Truth. Just this once.
no subject
How do you reconcile being born into one people and raised among another?
no subject
I don't. I belong to neither and I know it.
no subject
[ That is certainly what she is doing, but not quite by choice. ]
no subject
[ And Loki is done trying to prove himself. It only makes his own tendencies worse. ]
no subject
[ It doesn't solve the feeling of not belonging anywhere, but then perhaps there is no solution for that problem. ]
no subject
[ The edge of a question or a whisper. His fingers bite into the cup he's holding, crushing it slowly before he stops. ]
Perhaps it is simply madness.
no subject
Becoming unfettered from a place one called home can lead one to madness, yes. But it is not the end of things.
no subject
[ Deep down, he knows what the end should be. What monsters should have. A part of him rebels even as the other accepts. He is the architect of his own destruction. ]
no subject
I have yet to see it.
[ And she's older than you, so there. ]
no subject
You have left me hanging, sister. How will I sleep at night now?
no subject
It is your turn to pull a block.
no subject
Apparently I must remove an article of clothing. How childish.
