[Welcome to Bryn's apartment. The door is unlocked, and personal belongings can be tossed up onto the bed just at the top of the stairs. The party's theme is apparent at once. As mentioned on the network post, gold and glitz is strongly encouraged (though no one will be turned away for lacking either) in clothing, jewelry, accessories, or however creatively someone would like to incorporate it. Those interested in participating but lacking anything gold or glitzy will find gold glitter body gel to spread on their skin, compliments of the hostess.

There's a bar cart by the front door with a sign that reads WELCOME in gold script. It's laden with short shot glasses filled with what looks like liquid gold. When imbibed, however, it tastes like a faintly peach-flavored vodka. The rest of the alcohol and mixers can be found in the kitchen. Clear plastic cups feature labels that can be written on in gold permanent marker, then filled with any number of beverages. Really, there's no real rhyme or reason to what's available, as guests have been encouraged to bring whatever they like and add it to the kitchen island. For those who don't drink alcohol, there's a sign on the fridge indicating that non-alcoholic drinks and mixers are kept within. Anyone looking to fill their stomach a little between drinks will find platters of finger foods available throughout the apartment. Gold macarons, cheese and crackers, sliced fruit and vegetables are plentiful, but guests who are quick enough may find they can grab some of the thinly sliced beef arranged around a bowl of spicy dipping sauce. Of note, there is also a plate of gold fortune cookies for guests. While it's noted there's only enough for one per person, the fortunes feature not only a fortune but a party challenge. Dance with a stranger? Eat nothing that isn't fed to you? Try your hand at inventing a new drink? Why not try it and see what happens? Play a game of party jenga for that matter.

Beyond all this, anyone attending is encouraged to mingle and enjoy themselves. There's ample seating throughout the apartment for people to sit back and enjoy their food and drinks, including a plush rug in one corner covered in floor cushions and pillows around a hookah with a variety of flavors of tobacco. For those who are more inclined to activity there's space enough to dance to the music that booms throughout the apartment. With the windows open the space stays well aired out and comfortable, inviting any who attend to linger as long as they like. By the looks of things the hostess has no intention of kicking anyone out no matter how late it gets...]

[Good to know that he can rock a pair of boobs, although as soon as Bryn has done her shot, the spell is dropped and they disappear, leaving Taako to do a little shimmy as he adjusts to the lack of weight.

And then Bryn is talking about her ass, and he's laughing again.]

Uh, I'm not so sure about that assessment. [No that was terrible.] My ass is great.

[Bryn shakes her head at once in denial.]

Okay so look, yes, you look hot. You always look hot. And yes, your ass is outstanding. There is no denying that.

[She will totally admit that because it's true. He is blessed in this regard. However...]

The thing is, as amazing as it is, mine's still better. Hands down, best between us.

Wait, wait, on who's authority? You can't just state that shit like it's an objective fact!

[He doesn't really care that much, and tbh Bryn does have a better ass, but this is now officially a competition so he's determined to win it.]

It is an objective fact though!

[Okay it's a matter of opinion and Taako could definitely give her a run for her money but clearly this needs outside input now because she has to win this.]

But okay, okay, okay, if you don't agree then maybe we should find an impartial judge. They can do a side by side comparison or something and decide this for real.

[So they can get back to their games and drinking.]

[He opens his mouth to suggest they ask Eddie, before his brain catches up with the fact she said impartial, and he sulks for a second instead.]

I guess we could ask for input, but people might not wanna upset the party host....

[So can it truly be impartial???]

[YEAH TAAKO. No Eddie. Eddie is great and all and she thinks he's attractive as hell but he's also a lot more involved with Taako than her one conversation with him and therefore not at all impartial.]

Then we've got to just make sure it's someone who will either take the competition seriously or at least have enough spine to not let that enter into their considerations.

[Which is when Bryn begins, well, turning around. Slowly, but surely in her place, looking over every person there. She scrunches her face a moment, and then points at someone at random.]

What about him?

[Taako chuckles as Bryn surveys her party kingdom, wondering who she's going to pick as the judge for this very, very important decision.

When she points at Loki, he keeps his expression neutral, just giving a little shrug.]

I'm okay with that choice, you wanna do the honours?

[Of asking Loki to check out their butts.]

[She has to wonder if he already knows the man. She's never met the guy before but obviously Bryn and Taako aren't connected at the hip so naturally they wouldn't know all of each other's contacts.

Still, sensing nothing suspicious she decides that she'll take the gamble on this person she hasn't met yet.

Not alone, however. Bryn loops her arm in Taako's and starts tugging him with her.]

Sure, but you're coming with me.

[And so the tiny blonde makes her way determinedly over to where Loki sits and flashes him a smile.]

Hi, enjoying the party?

[ Loki gets the distinct feeling he is being ambushed. He glances at Taako questioning before presenting himself in an affable manner. ]

It is better than most parties. Which is high praise indeed.

[Taako offers a conspiratorial wink, which may or may not be reassuring.]

It's a pretty great party, I can agree with that.

[Is it really an ambush if it's more of an opportunity?]

Thank you, I appreciate that. [Especially since this was a spur of the moment thing.] The reason we're here is because you were selected at random to help us settle a...not a bet but an argument? [In as much as Bryn and Taako argue about this.]

You're perfectly welcome to decline of course but it's very important so we're looking for someone who can be completely impartial. Do you think that you could be that person for us?

[ Loki doesn't know what to make of this so curiosity wins him over. He may not care about this contest and what it entailed but he's not against showing off. ]

Certainly. I enjoy a healthy competition now and then. What would you have me do?

[He has every right to back out, even when she tells him the nature of the competition, but she's hopeful that he'll be amenable.]

The short of it is that he seems to think that his ass is more spectacular than mine and I know it as a matter of fact that mine's the best one between us. Rather than argue about it back and forth all night we need someone to decisively judge the matter for us.

[She's completely without shame. This is a point of pride for her and they're both engaged to see it through to the end. All they need now is an impartial third party...]

So what do you say, would you be willing to accept the challenge of determining which of us is right?

And we should totally preface this with the fact there will be no negative repercussions regardless of your choice. [He glances at Bryn.] Right, darling?

[Implying that she needs to agree to that because she's going to lose.]

Oh, no, of course not. [She waves a dismissive hand, confident in her win. Even if she doesn't (unthinkable!) she bounces back quickly and there are people here to distract her from the loss if it happens.] Just gratitude for agreeing to settle the matter for us one way or the other.

[ His lips quirk in amusement and he doesn't blink. ]

Very well then. I will need tools. Possibly drawing paper. If this is to be done, it will be done right.

[Taako is silent for a moment, like he can't tell if Loki is joking or not, before he laughs.]

Fuck. Yes.

[Go big or go home still seems to be the rule here.]

What kinda tools are we talking here?

[ Loki doesn't crack a little. ]

Measuring tools, obviously. Paper to make notes and to keep track of my results.

[Bryn mouths after him, tools, with some surprise. Drawing paper. He says it's to be done right and of all the things the expected, this is not it. He's actually taking it as seriously as she'd requested, and all without a single lascivious comment to either of them. Incredible!]

I have most of that, hang on.

[She lets go of Taako to retrieve a blank sketchbook, a pair of pencils, and then with a little rummaging around a tape measure from the bathroom. She returns with all of it and offers it to Loki.

She looks delighted with both of them, really.]

Anything else?

Why do you even- [But she's gone and Taako is left squinting after her, before he just shakes his head and grins at Loki.]

I'm super tempted to offer a bribe, but it'll be more satisfying when I win on my own merits.

[And then Bryn is back and Taako does his best to look totally innocent.]

[ Loki raises an eyebrow at Taako since it would take a lot to bribe Loki into anything. He's not subservient in anything, preferring to look out for himself and only himself. Everything he does is for his own gain. Except for silly party games, of course. Loki immediately starts writing up a list of qualities. Length, width, a margin of error for clothing. Stripping would fix that but people get cagey about that sort of thing.

He adds physicality. He's not much for feeling up people unless he's truly invested but for science, a little groping should be allowed. He'd probably have to draw up a few diagrams too from all angles. ]

This should suffice for now.

[Bryn gives Taako a speculative look as well, wondering what he said while she was gone, but her attention quickly turns back to Loki--who she realizes she doesn't even know.]

I'm Bryn, by the way. I should have introduced myself first before asking you for this.

[She leans back on her heels, head canting to the side.]

Appreciate your help in this matter, of course.

She's awful you don't wanna know her.

[This is the appropriate way to introduce his best friend to someone, right?]

He's right, I'm terrible.

[Said dryly. So dryly. Her lips twitch up at the corners ever so slightly.]
