revelations and others (open unless specified)
who: 2B, A2, Yuuri Katsuki, and others
what: asking questions, getting answers
when: early to mid May, after Memoria
where: various locations around the city
warnings: canon spoilers for the prompt with A2, the rest - probably nothing, will update if it changes
I. Investigation (open)
[2B wasn't a very curious android by nature, unlike someone else she knows. But she also has lived with humans for a while now, is going to do that for a lot longer, and she realizes there is still a lot about them that she doesn't know. Crucial information is lacking. It could be important or even life-threatening, and that's no good.
So she took steps to remedy that.]
Hmm. I see.
[Whatever casual everyday activity happens anywhere in the Quarantine - be it someone working, shopping, eating a meal, or just hanging out, there is a chance there will be a black-clad android nearby. She's trying not to be too obtrusive but she's not hiding her presence either, standing around and keenly observing as if this was a surprise inspection of some sort. And just like a real inspector, she's taking notes - though she does it inside her head, not on a sheet of paper.]
II. Patrols (open)
[Regardless of how she feels at the moment, good or bad, 2B's job takes absolute priority. As a member of the guard's S&R division, it was her duty to patrol the less-travelled parts of the city. If you're somewhere around them, especially in the ruins or after dark, it's possible that she just found you: from somewhere higher, a strange (and more worryingly, armed) woman just lands really close, her leap and landing both graceful yet ending with a heavy thud, a noise like if a ton of bricks just fell.
Then, she stares in your direction, trying to discern intent but so far, saying nothing.]
III. Learning something important (for A2)
[The arranged meeting point - a rooftop, nothing above her but the sky, and the setting sun to her side. 2B feels ill at ease. She's not sure what A2 is going to tell her, or even what intents does the rogue android have. After all, they never met in anything resembling peaceful circumstances...
She considered bringing a weapon along, but in the end decided against it. There were good reasons not to, and she had to show that her reason to be here was genuine.]
...
[A small sigh escapes her lips as she apprehensively shifts her body's weight from one leg to the other. Hopefully A2's reason was just as genuine as hers.
But even if it was, 2B had a foreboding feeling that she may not like what she's about to hear.]
IV. Sharing something important (for Yuuri, possibly others with CR)
[Looking for 2B? Maybe you have some questions for her, maybe ask her to hang out (assuming she'll even agree, which may not be too likely...), or maybe it's just a chance encounter. Either way, she's in the community housing's lobby. That's unusual because she's never there, until today that is.
Occupying a seat, looking down, she looks like she heard something really heavy. Not despairing, but trying to fully grasp and accept the news she was given. So busy battling her own thoughts, she doesn't notice another person approaching until you are very close.]
( EDIT: Other prompts may also appear as individualized starters. If you're interested in one, please let me know! )

2B startles him. He steps back, watching her warily. It's obvious she's not human. He's very sure he can hear whirring. ]
Uhm.
... Hello?
( lmk if anything he hears is not ok! )
no subject
[Look, she talks. A pretty terse reply, that one, but still.]
Should you be here? This area has unstable construction and rubble. It's dangerous.
[She stands up from the crouch in which she has landed, her movement perfectly human-like, perhaps even a bit too much so. You'd have to be superhuman to notice her inner mechanical nature - oh wait, Clark happens to be just that.
She doesn't comment on the Superman outfit though. Just your normal human clothing, as far as she can tell.]
no subject
He's fascinated. It's rude to stare, so Clark maintains his polite outward disposition. She hasn't said that she's not human nor invited questions. ]
I could ask you the same thing. What's your name?
no subject
Have you noticed anything out of ordinary?
[Look who's talking.]
no subject
No, I don't think so. [ He hesitates, unsure how to phrase his question. ] What do I call you? Unit 2?
no subject
[She mentions almost off-handedly, sounding very natural for someone who is 100% artificial. 2B folds her arms, her gaze focused on Clark.]
I see. Even if there has been no accidents so far, should I leave you here alone? As I said, it's a dangerous area. Something may happen.
no subject
[ Whoever created her is a genius. If he wasn't him, he might have thought she was human. ]
I should be okay. It takes a lot to hurt me, and the nearest creatures are about two and a half miles in that direction.
If you wanted to intercept them.
[ He can get there instantly, and is waiting to see if the Guard deploys anyone to do that job. If she's strong, he thinks she might also be fast. ]

for Augustine
Fortunately professor Sycamore is no stranger, and the guards were informed in advance so they let him in. 2B is already waiting at the yard, just as she promised.]
I see you were able to make it here.
[She nods in acknowledgement. The android is empty handed, so whatever you'll be doing it probably won't involve weapons. For now.]
no subject
Once he sees the android, he also nods in acknowledgment with a smile. Yet for some reason, he starts to feel a strange small pain in his head as he clutches his head afterward.]
Well, I'm glad that I can follow your advice to take this physical assessment. I'm sorry if I took you away from your busy schedule.
no subject
[As a matter of fact she has more free time than she knows what to do with. 2B moves aside, towards one of the courses.]
Well then... is something wrong?
[That head clutch does not escape her.]
no subject
No, it's fine. It's gone by now.
I think it must be from my recent paperwork that I've done for my night class last week.
So, where should I start for the assessment?
no subject
[So humans can overwork themselves too? Though concern is still audible in 2B's voice, it looks like she was worried for no reason.]
Yes, let's begin.
[She already prepared something so now she only has to pick it up and go back to Augustine - a collection of tires from the obstacle course. Several heavy-looking ones are stacked in her hands right now, they must be over 200 pounds total if not more, but she carries them casually like it's no big deal.]
How many of those can you lift and still move comfortably?
I have more if you need them.
no subject
Are you sure I have to lift any number of tires as I can?
[Still, if she says yes, he decides that the only option right now is to take the assessment as he lifts some tires that he can handle.]
no subject
We need to know how much weight you are comfortable with carrying in combat. I know there are other weights available, but they are small. Something like this has a better distribution of mass while also being larger.
[2B explains her reasoning while watching Augustine do some lifting. The tires are not only heavy but also awkward to carry - but, that too is her point.]
However, it doesn't matter if your carrying capacity is large or small. We just need to assess what it is.

I live!
Then not so much.
She feels naked without a weapon, but A2 is also of the idea that the less sharp sticks the better chance things go well. Or just not horrible. ]
Hey.
[ A2 drops from a height nearby, looking cleaner than she had ever done before. Her long hair shines as she sweeps it behind her. So. ]
Last thing you remember. Go.

But this is a situation which calls for sincerity.]
I was... dead. I was infected with the machine virus, and you killed me.
But I saw 9S. Even though I was dying, I couldn't help but smile. Finally I didn't have to hurt him anymore.
[9S, yes. Now it's time for 2B not to waste any time or words.]
Where is he now? What happened to him?
no subject
[ No, seriously. It was pretty bad. ]
A structure popped out of the ground and separated us before he could attack me though. Your Pod stuck around, gave me hacking privileges. I'm pretty sure Pod steered me away from 9S so he didn't try to kill me, or I him. Not that I would... not with your memories.
[ That got annoyingly confusing really fast. ]
We both entered the structure. Turns out humans have been dead all along, although their data is what's kept in the moon. The machine lifeforms had evolved into self-awareness a long time ago. Turns out we were locked into a never ending fight.
9S and I killed each other, but the Pods brought us back. Us three back.
[ Yeah, that too. ]
That's the gist of it, I can elaborate. I'd prefer not to fight you, though. We're all that's left back home.
no subject
[2B doesn't take the news too well, though she doesn't try to attack either so that's good. Instead she stumbles back a step, hiding her face in her hands.]
Why did it have to happen? Even if we are all really back now...
[She ended up hurting him one more time in the end after all. 2B takes a deep, shaky breath.]
Humans of our world really are gone for good, then?
All YoRHa fought and died for - was in vain?
IV sorry for the wait!
Oh. [Yuuri hovers near her, wanting to approach but hesitating when he sees how distressed she looks. In the end, he takes the last few steps, stopping just in front of her.] 2B?
no subject
[She quickly looks up in surprise. After the initial reaction her movements become less frantic though, as she stands up and brushes herself off as if nothing happened. Trying to deflect attention from her own state, maybe.]
Yes, that's right. You were going to ask me a few questions, weren't you.
no subject
You look like you're really worried about something. [Yuuri goes with that instead of jumping right into the questions. He's not heartless, and she does look distressed.]
no subject
[She replies quickly. Then comes a pause, awkward silence that is broken when 2B adds, more quietly.]
I received a status update. Regarding the situation... of the world I am from.
no subject
I'm guessing you mean...A2. What did she say?
no subject
[Where does she even begin? She takes a deep breath, bracing herself for admitting what she never thought she'd have to accept.]
I am a part of YoRHa and its mission was always to take Earth back into android hands, so humans can live on it again.
That was a lie. YoRHa... doesn't exist anymore, but the reason for its existence was always secretely different. It was...
Meaningless.

Why don't we go up to my apartment? This is kind of a public place to be talking about something private like this.
