( closed ) lost research
who: Jim Kirk, Leonard McCoy, Peggy Carter, Re-L Mayer, Shai Ebbisaryn, Sans, Dick Grayson, Scott Lang, Yuuri Katsuki, Victor Nikiforov
what: a rescue mission
when: from May 15th through to the end of the month
where: abandoned area, along the river, the delta and the waterfalls; between the first and second walls
warnings: monster attacks, probably some injuries/blood, don't expect anything more than that; add any needed warnings on your own threads as needed, please!
Despite the risks, most of the journey was a fairly quiet one. A lot of hours walking, making their way along the riverside, trekking through the woods and across small clearings. When the sun set they'd set up camp somewhere, and as soon as it rose they got back to their feet and out towards the Delta underneath the waterfalls.
Jim made sure they had all they needed; maps, compasses, whatever devices that could help them navigate the terrain. As far as supplies went, they had plenty of covers and extra clothes to make sure they didn't suffer through the colder nights, but there were no luxuries out here. If it rained, they'd be mostly unprotected, and they could only shower and wash their clothes so long as they had the time and access to the stream of the river. There was plenty of food, hopefully enough to last them the round trip, but they also had a myriad of tools and weaponry needed for any hunting and scavenging so they didn't always have to consume from the food they'd brought along for the trip.
The creatures living out here were another concern, and on a journey this long, they were bound to run into something sooner or later. They should be packing enough weaponry to keep the team safe and everyone in one piece, though.
Hopefully, it would be worth it. Jim didn't even care if they didn't get their hands on any of that research— all he cared about was that there were people possibly lost and in danger out there, and he wanted to try and save them.

it totally is
Hey, hey, don't insult a man's humor. "I'll have you know, my daughter thinks I'm hilarious. And my girlfriend. Who is, for the record, totally hot." Okay, Hope would punch him in the throat for calling her his girlfriend, but, hey, he's out of range! One benefit of being stuck in a weird monster-ringed city.

He only stopped though, when the man brought up the fact he had a daughter. For a long moment, he stayed still before he cleared his throat and picked up the dermal regenerator. Carefully moving to mend the skin, he bit at his lower lip and dared to ask the next question. "How old is she? Your daughter?"

He's trying to be a good patient, but, hey, that whatever thing that's pointed at his head kind of tingles. "Make sure it's a sexy scar, okay? I hear chicks dig those."
But uh oh, now you're in trouble, because Cassie is his favorite thing to talk about. "She's eight. And awesome. And she thinks I'm awesome, so...." So, there you go. By clear logic, Scott is awesome.

"Hate to break it to ya, but there won't be a scar." He was damn proud of the fact that he had this mastered to an art. And he'd fixed much more than this in his past.
Finishing up, he caught Scott's head in his hands and turned it to he could check the entirety of the wound even as he spoke about his daughter. And damn it, if that didn't pull the barest hint of a smile out of him. Letting him go, he started to put his things away. "Great feelin' knowin' your daughter thinks you are the best thing in the universe." Leonard's voice dipped quieter there before he let out a sigh. "Also the worst feelin' knowin' you can't up and see their face when you want." Or that you may never see her again.

Scott sighs, because of course he does. "Seriously? You can't hook a brother up with a sexy scar?" Tsk. You may be a great doctor, but you suck at wingman.
Annnnnnd wow. Way to bring him down. Because he was having a happy moment thinking of Cassie, and how much she'd probably love this place (because she was a little weird like that), and now you go and say stuff like that. "You too, huh?"

"Sorry, my reputation as a doctor supersedes your want to look hot for girls." Giving one last look to the now healed injury, he rolled his eyes a bit at the ridiculousness of it all. He wouldn't have even let Jim has his way in that one. Unbelievable.
"Yeah. My daughter is about thirteen now. Granted I've been away a long time cause of the Fleet..." More than likely, this guy had more right to miss his daughter than he did. And maybe this wasn't the first time he felt a little like a dead beat dad that left his kid behind. "Anyway, if your girl thinks your awesome, who am I to say otherwise. But keep your awesome ass in one piece for her sake and mine. I don't particularly like seein' people hurt even if I am the one that has to patch 'em up."
