[ In the middle of the lake of ice is a circular blanket fringed with cushions and furs like a life-raft. Inside this picnicker's dream the ground is soft and warm like a bed, despite the fact of its location, charmed to remain cosy, and nearby a picnic basket overflows with all of Billy's favourite foods; some home-cooked, some trashy fast-food. The darkening sky is peppered overhead by floating candles, Hogwarts-style for the greatest nerdy witch there ever was, and it's into this safezone that Billy will find himself transported, additionally wrapped up in Loki's arms.

The godling leans his chin forward and nuzzles a neck, smiling over Billy's shoulder. He did good, right? He knows it. ]

( a fork is pulled out of the pile of plates, dug down into some of the veggies on a plate. loki's food is amazing, he's going to do his best to at least eat a little of everything. )

Doreen showed up, which is pretty amazing. I was uh--on my own Avengers squad for a bit with her and Clint ( and obviously teddy. ), it was pretty cool. I'm pretty glad Teddy moved into the apartment, means I'm only moving between two houses instead of three. And I've come to the realization that Tommy and I really aren't cut out for living together on our own ( they're both disasters. ) so having someone else is great.

( but he pauses for a moment to shove the fork into his mouth, hums soft. )

Do you remember when you were drunk at you lingerie party and decided to be a huge menace at me?

Not especially. Sorta? Also, I knew Doreen before she was a coolkid on your team.

[ Just throwing that out there like any good hipster would. His fingers brush through Billy's hair, playing with it so it flops to one side. ]

Why do you bring up Lingerie Night?

[wiccant]

Just something you said.

( not responding with "no reason", because that'll definitely get loki's attention. but it doesn't matter too much anyway. shoulders lift into a shrug, leaning his head back against loki's weight. )

Also: you knew a lot of people before I did. You were a hipster before being a hipster was cool.

( that's just one of loki's Things. )

That comes with the territory of being Loki, not sure it's as much me as mine.

[ Whatever that means, but the words ring true somehow in his ears. He wraps his arms around Billy's waist snd pretends to wrestle him, squirming more than anything. ]

Tell me what I said that stuck with you on Lingerie Night!

( tmw your boyfriend is Too Cute to live but also loki. how is billy supposed to cope with this? food forgotten, he turns his attention back to loki himself, twists around to press close into him, nuzzling in under his chin. )

You dressed me in white lace, said it was practice for our wedding night, then teased me until I yelled yes.

( since he asked. )

... Oh, that.

[ Well!! He had a few to drink and shut up, Billy. What a loud face you have. ]

Er, you liked it. I remember that ... much. I think. [ Squinting sidelong for a moment, easily avoiding looking at Billy when he's tucked under Loki's chin. He huffs and shrugs, keeping his question light. ] Yes, well. I dream of marrying you. Is that such a big deal?

[wiccant]

I did like it. A lot, actually.

( loki's a huge tease but billy does enjoy it. even if it was a little overwhelming at first. )

Marriage is a pretty big deal though. If we're going to commit maybe we should go ring shopping together.

Why do we need rings? People can lose them. Wouldn't you rather trust me not to lose your heart as easily as a piece of jewellery?

[ He rolls his eyes, quickly holding up the hands on Billy's middle in surrender. ]

Nevermind! I sense you want them come Hel or high water.

[wiccant]

I mean, I definitely do trust you with my heart.

( complications of the last few months aside and all, loki is a pretty great boyfriend. fiance. future husband. whatever title they're going with now. when loki raises his hands, billy tilts his head back, tries to get a good look at him even if the angle isn't ideal. )

They're not needed, but they show that I'm yours and you're mine. Probably a little more effective than all the hickeys you keep leaving all over my neck.

Trinkets ...

[ Out of thin air (or is it!) a black bracelet appears in his fingers, twirling through them to his thoughtful hum. He rests his chin on Billy's shoulder. ]

This is Stygian iron, Nico gave it to me. I was supposed to always wear it for him but I ... forget to.

[wiccant]

He's been gone a while now, hasn't he.

( with billy's own fingers raising up, nails pressing soft against the underside of loki's wrist. )

People come and go here like crazy.

He was a good friend ...

[ The bracelet morphs into a lock of auburn hair tied in one of Angela's bows; black locks belonging to Jason; a piece of scrap metal stolen from Tony's old workshop; a scrap of cloth from Thor's cape. Magpie trinkets.

Then nothing. Loki's hand lays over Billy's heart, hugging him close, and he nuzzles a temple with cool lips. ]

I don't want to add you to the collection.

[wiccant]

I won't leave here without you. Promise.

( it's not i won't go anywhere; things--are a bit different than when billy first got here. but it is a promise he can definitely keep. loki's been through plenty of shit already, and billy has absolutely no intention of leaving him. of adding to that.

head tilting back, billy presses soft kisses against wherever he can reach. )

We'll get married, one day. And you'll be stuck with me for forever.

[ikols]

[ He would hate to only have a ring left in lieu of Billy. It would turn his heart cold or else break it, worse than having nothing at all.

Turning his head to steal a kiss, he smiles softly and rests their foreheads together. ]

... I love you.

[wiccant]

( a soft hum presses into loki's kiss, teeth gently catching on his lower lip before billy smiles wide. )

I love you, too. Nothing will ever change that.
