Wow. You are such a nerd. I love it. [He clicks their glasses together and takes a sip]

[ He laughs, nudging Victor's leg lightly. ]

What? They're both things that brought me to you. Or you to me, whatever.

[ After clinking their glasses together he takes a sip, setting the glass down on a smooth rock nearby so he won't knock it down while they eat. ]

[jolting]

Well, of course they are. And you being a nerd is exactly why I messaged you. I love that we're both nerds.

[He grins, sneaking a kiss before concentrating on eating]

If that's what piqued your interest about me, then I can hardly complain.

[ Scooting a little closer, he starts unwrapping the sandwich, taking a bite with a satisfied little hum. ]

[jolting]

Well, it's not like my friendr profile at the time would've caught your interest, so it's good yours was so appealing.

[He shifts so they could be close without getting in each other's way as they eat]

Your picture would've caught my interest, if nothing else. You're pretty hot, you know.

[ He winks at Victor teasingly. ]

[jolting]

Yeah, I know. Good looks, old money and I'm a doctor. Just the type of person you'd want as a suitor.

[He winks back]

[winscenario]

[ He laughs around a mouthful of sandwich. ]

Mm, yeah.That's definitely the only thing I really care about.

[jolting]

Lucky me. [He smirks, going back to his own sandwich. See, he can make good jokes]

[winscenario]

[ He finishes his sandwich quickly and mostly in silence, then he tugs off his blazer and rolls up his sleeves before lying back on the blanket, looking up at the night sky. ]

It's really nice, out here.

[jolting]

[He reaches to wash down the rest of his sandwich down before settling next to James]

I did this a lot when I was in school: go find a quiet place and lay out under the stars. It was a good way to clear my head.

[winscenario]

[ Jim sighs, shifting closer to Victor and catching his hand, weaving their fingers together. ]

Me too. Back in Iowa, the night sky was one of the very few things I liked. [ The only thing, sometimes. He realizes his view may be a little biased, but he really doesn't miss the place at all. ]

Maybe somewhere out there, at some point, we were looking at the same star.

[jolting]

[Victor squeezes his hand, trying to imagine that. Teenage Victor in a field somewhere in a lab coat, teenage James in whatever it is he wore as a teenager. Both lying on the grass just staring at the sky, listening to the breeze and the nature sounds]

I like that idea.

[winscenario]

[ Closing his eyes, he can almost picture it too. He smiles warmly, head resting on Victor's shoulder while he hums to the music still playing inside. What a perfect night it's turning out to be. ]

[jolting]

[Victor puts his arm around James, laying with him like that for a long time. Eventually he stirs them so they can head home. But they are definitely coming back here for another date]
