The Viking has grown appreciative of the Southern belle in the time she's been in the city. She's different in a way he can't put his finger on. It's not just her mutation that factors into it. There's something unique that makes Rogue the way she is. Were it not for the fact people kept leaving him, he might be more inclined to get closer to her, but right now the teen is a touch gun-shy instead.

Ivar was sitting outside when he saw Rogue pull up, looking something like a modern-day Valkyrie as she roared in on her motorcycle. Ivar's never ridden one before for the same reason he doesn't ride horses: his legs are too weak to have the proper grip strength to hold on. Well, he's got the leg braces Tony made for him, so now a whole new world has opened up to him.

There's a grin on his face as he gets up to meet her. The braces make it easy for him to walk unaided as long as he doesn't try to go too fast. "You didn't tell me we'd be riding around in style," he says, admiring the machine with a long glance.

Ivar gives her an actual warm smile in return. "He is a little crazy, but he is also a genius. I gave him a present to thank him." He'd fully expected Tony to charge him at least something for the braces, but maybe he just found the challenge of getting a crippled Viking warrior up and mobile to be a reward unto itself. Either way, Ivar was incapable of saying thank you like a normal person, so he let his actions speak louder than his words.

He gives her a firm hug, not bothering to pull back on his strength for once. Rogue was one person even stronger than him. "Fly? No thanks. I keep my feet on the ground." Flying was too much like being in a boat over the water. He was, truth be told, a little bit afraid of the idea. Being in animal form was one thing. Creatures like birds and the habbit had their instincts to help guide him. But being on his own, nope, not gonna happen.

"I knew another one who was different from this one." Man alive, speaking of the multiverse became confusing when individuals had the same name. "He was my roommate. He made me all sorts of nice things like arm braces with blades inside them." It had actually been the Tony from Rogue's world that he'd roomed with when he first came here. Tony had mainly made such things as bribes to get the Viking teenager to behave. Surprisingly enough, it had worked out well.

He holds onto Rogue very tightly when they lift into the air. It's a reminder of back when he was a child and had to be carried everywhere. That hadn't lasted too long. Ivar had always been fiercely independent even as a child. But he wasn't kidding about wanting to keep his feet on the ground. Still, he can handle just a few feet off the ground. "Alright, you got me off the ground. Is this where your master plan ends?"

"He is crazy but like a fox," Ivar agrees. "I'm glad he was able to help you. Life has been more interesting for me since I met you." He was rapidly developing a strong friendship with Rogue. If there was something a little more he felt, well, he was ignoring that for right now. He's been burned too many times in the past to open up his heart to anyone else right now.

He groans happily when her hands are first in the muscles of his shoulder and then move onto his hair. Ivar has a great weakness that few know about when it comes to someone playing with his hair. It just felt so nice. "Yes, much better." She could just keep doing that all day and he'd be content. One of his hands goes up, careful to avoid the skin of her face, as he traces the streak of white in her hair.

She's so sweet to him, something Ivar is completely unused to. People always seem like they want something from him in return for their sympathies or for treating him decently. "You're too good to me." She makes him feel relaxed and happy, two things he doesn't have a lot of in abundance.

"I feel the same way about you." Not that he thought Rogue couldn't handle herself. She was definitely one of the strongest women he'd ever met. "You would make a good shieldmaiden." A compliment of the highest degree from a Viking.

He smiles at the mention of getting something to eat, completely in a calm and relaxed state now. "Food would be wonderful, yes."

Kindness definitely goes a long way in breaking down Ivar's walls. He's been hurt so many times in his life, both by people who saw him as nothing but a cripple and by people he cared about leaving him, that to have people be otherwise made him nicer than he ever was otherwise.

His eyes glint at the idea of sparring with her. "Most definitely. I'm sure I can surprise you a little with what I can do in combat." He was a decent fighter even when he'd been in clunky braces from 818. In his new state-of-the-art ones, he would be nearly unstoppable.

"Let's ride." He's never been on a motorcycle before, but it looks like it'll be fun. Maybe a little like riding the chariot he's so very fond of tearing around the city in on occasion.
