who: Princess Allura, the Paladins of Voltron, and various others
what: Settling in to Riverview
when: A few days after Allura arrives
where: Voltron House, and various other places
warnings: None as of yet
-1: Moving Day-
Allura didn't have a LOT of stuff with her. In fact, about all she had with her was the clothes on her back. So it made moving in with the other Paladins who had found this world as simple as walking up to the address she'd gotten from Shiro and knocking on the front door.
She took a moment to take in her new home. It wasn't the Castle of Lions, but it'd do.
She knocked on the front door. "Hello?"
-2: Retail Therapy-
The only worldly possessions Allura currently owned were one potted Juniberry flower, and the clothes on her back. And after several days in Riverview, those were probably starting to smell a bit. That meant it was time to go SHOPPING. She'd missed the trip to the space mall, and had been secretly craving something like this for quite a while now.
Granted, she didn't have a HUGE supply of money, but she could still probably get a few things. That meant hanging out at various malls and department stores and trying things on. Human fashions! So interesting and VERY different from those she was used to! It wasn't just spending money, it was an exercise in xenopsychology.
Her shopping habits didn't stand out THAT much, but she was wearing an elegant dress fit for a princess, and she did have a couple of obviously nonhuman features about her. Pointed ears, pupils, strange facial markings, and just an indefinable air about her of not being someone who had ever been to Earth. In the mostly human city of Riverview, aliens were probably far and few between.
-3: Earthling Food-
Now that she had the bare necessities of life in a modern society, Allura needed something to eat. She knew that human and altean biology were compatible, so logically she should be able to eat anything here and not die. The paladins certainly hadn't had any trouble surviving on altean food. Still, the odors of her meal from the mall food court were strange and unfamiliar.
She peered at the strange meal before her. Two rounded discs of bread sandwiching a patty of some kind of meat, with a few vegetables of some kind as garnishes, and then a whole pile of lightly browned...sticks. She didn't have the first clue what they were. All of the sudden, she saw the paladin's hesitations back in those first few days in a new light.
She leaned over slightly towards whoever was sitting next to her. "Excuse me. Sorry to bother you, but...what kind of animal do these come from?"
She was holding a french fry.

"This whole situation is so bizarre. How long have you been here, that you had time to set up something like this?"

Having gotten that pet, Black sat down, carefully not to sit on either of their feet. He was getting better at that.
"Yeah, it is a bit. I've been here about a year. Both Keith and I arrived at the same time. After the communal housing we were in caught fire, we started looking at moving and then Black and Red showed up... which really meant we needed somewhere they could go in."

"But...Shiro I saw you the day before I ended up here. How can you have been here for a whole year!? I haven't even KNOWN you for a year!"

But since Allura was going to the kitchen, Youta was going to launch himself off the couch and run over, sitting down in front of her with tail wagging. He's a good pup, right? No jumping.
"And this is Youta, my dog. He's still young so he has a lot of energy, but he's well trained. You're in the kitchen so he thinks you might give him food."

And then...there's some kind of Earth creature sitting at her feet. "Should I? He's an adorable...dog, you said they're called?"
She looked into Youta's shining puppy eyes, and immediately fell in love. "Can I pet him?"

Shiro smiled, looking at Youta who glanced over at him before looking back at Allura. "Yes, he is a dog, one of many breeds of dogs. Of course you may pet him. Well, its too early for dinner. But he can have a treat if he's a good boy."
All Shiro needed to say was "treat" and "good boy" and Youta's tail was wagging even more.
What kind of dog is Youta btw?
He's a german shepherd husky mix
