In the days leading up to June 1st, residents new and old will notice preparations beginning, a flurry of activity getting the city ready for the upcoming celebration: Prijata. Riverview Quarantine has a strong culture of love, and they celebrate all types - Prijata is a special celebration of platonic love and building community through friendship. Prijata traditions include gift exchanges between friends, sharing meals cooked together by friend groups, and a variety of events and services aimed at making friends.

a celebration of platonic love

Prijata is a relatively relaxed holiday, focused mainly on friendship and platonic love - dedicated to appreciating the friends already in one's life, and opening oneself up to making new friends. Besides the private giving of gifts between friends, there is also a city-wide government-sponsored gift fountain that is open throughout the entire month. Included in the wide variety of events catered to finding new friends, are 'speed friending' and a large open exhibition where all the specialized clubs in Riverview can recruit for new members - and residents new or old can create a club and recruit.

i. gift fountain

While Prijata gift exchanges between friends are generally a quiet affair, done at friend-group dinners or parties, the element of gift giving does extend outward - community-wide, in fact. Throughout the course of the month, anyone living in Riverview Quarantine can drop by the huge fountain in the City Center, in front of the City Hall. They will find that the fountain is chock full of floating gift boxes in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and different shapes - though none larger than a shoe box. There are signs put up around the fountain stating that the boxes are magic and will only seek and open for their rightful owners. Characters will find that, upon touching the water, a box will float over to them, and when they pick it up, the top will unfurl like flower petals, displaying the gift inside. Sometimes, the box won't appear on the first try, since there's only so much space in the fountain at any given time, but if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Every person in the city (including new arrivals) will receive one gift by the end of the month.

Gift fountain boxes will contain one small item from each character's home dimension (or, for CRAUs, from their previous game), similar to the "items from home" bonus reward, but without needing to spend points. The item should be small enough to fit in a shoebox, sentimental, and cannot be something intended for another person's character. If you can't think of an item like this that would work for your character, something of similar size and quality to what's described above that would make the character very happy can be substituted.

This prompt can also be used for gift exchanges and for characters to receive the Government-given gifts that were suggested in the Prijata Pregaming post on the meme community. Any newly apped character is welcome to post on the meme entry as soon as they're accepted, and will be linked to it in this month's acceptance notification, so to all you pre-existing players please keep looking at the Prijata Pregame meme throughout app week and afterward to help give new arrivals a warm friendly welcome!

ii. speed-friending

This is pretty much what it says on the tin! Much like speed-dating setups, many bars, coffee shops, and other places that people might gather are holding speed-friending! It's your standard setup - characters enter and fill out a quick questionnaire about themselves, and flit from table to table looking for someone with great friend chemistry. Not all of them are general and open to anyone who walks in, though, with many being specialized to people who are invested in certain hobbies, occupations, or with specific sets of interests. With specialized speed-friending setups ranging from horror movie buffs to members of the Perimeter Guard to fashionistas to sports or martial arts to video games, no matter what your character is into, they're likely to be able to sign up for a special event where they can go looking for a friend who's into the same things they are!

For this prompt, you can put up a list of hobbies or interests your character has, and compatible characters can hit them up for a speed-friending thread, like the IC equivalent of the CR meme!

iii. club exhibition

Speed-friending is all well and good, but not everyone is outgoing or open enough to know if they have friend chemistry in only a few minutes. For anyone looking to find groups of like-minded individuals they can spend more than a few minutes with before committing to something as daunting as a friendship, there is a month-long club exhibition happening in the Town Square in the City Center. Table after table and booth after booth are occupied by existing clubs in the city, with an incredibly broad scope of focus interests and hobbies - enough that any character should be able to find a club with their niche interest represented.

And if it isn't? Characters are welcome to start their own clubs - much like a business, a character-run club can have space set aside in the city for meetings and event mingles that are eligible for Activity Point Bonuses for the organizer.

iv. amusement park & waterfight

Remember the Amusement Park that citizens of the city were working together to clean up and power up a couple of months ago? Well, the endeavor has proven to be a success, and after a lot of hard work and technical expertise, the amusement park is up and running! For the first two weeks of June, admission will be free to honor those who helped make the park usable.

Sporting just about any amusement park ride you can think of, from kiddie rides, merry-go-rounds, and ferris wheels to high-speed roller coasters and more extreme rides for the thrill-seekers, the park takes it a step further by adding in a lot of different high-tech attractions not available at conventional amusement parks. It has banks and banks of VR simulators that allow park-goers to enjoy a variety of adventures and scenarios, or join shared mutual worlds with other users to explore or take out their aggression with a VR first-person shooter. There are also rows and rows of typical carnival games, some heavily rigged and some not, with prizes ranging from dollar store trinkets to stuffed animals to bits of advanced tech.

For the month of grand opening, though, the amusement park is offering a couple interesting events - a naming contest for the park, and a park-wide water fight.

The water fight is opt-in, with participants signing up and being given a purple or orange flag, tank top, or cap to wear marking them as to which team they're part of. There are buckets of water balloons around the park that are constantly being refilled by staff, and water fighters can participate in special target practice games to win the use of a watergun for the duration of the day - how big your watergun is depends on how well you do in the game! Ultimately, there aren't any real winners or losers, because the point is to get wet in the brand new summer heat, but it's always more fun to cool off with a bit of competition involved, right?

The naming contest is another story. Anyone who visits the park is welcome to think up a name for the park, and all entries will be listed on a large LED board. Every customer who enters the park is invited to vote for their favorite name, and the name with the most votes wins! To submit either an in-character suggestion or a suggestion from yourself as a player, hit up the thread below with a new top-level; whether or not you have a neat idea, place a vote for your favorite! Votes are one per player; suggestions are one per character.

It breaks across his side, and Poe pivots, hurling two water balloons--the first, wildly, in the general direction he got hit from. The second, actually at Alex. ]

[A spa day? That...sounds very foreign to her. What exactly would she do? What does Alex mean by "pampered"? What did that entail? Rey wasn't sure if she would actually enjoy it, as she's not used to having people touch her or do anything that would be even close to "pampering." Still, she wasn't going to turn down the gift.]

Well, if you're okay with going with me, we could. I've never done this sort of thing...

[Tim nods in acknowledgment - hey, Damian. Oddly, it's a comfort, seeing that all-too-familiar expression on his face.]

[ Jace smirked and crossed his arms. ]

Birds are birds. You can see them anywhere and there are entire books filled with all the details you'd want to know. Hiking gives you a chance to explore. See more than just birds.

[This has become thoroughly awkward. Compounded by the fact that this man is now metaphorically hanging on him. It was almost disturbing, but the speech pattern was clearly the one he remembered in text form from that friendr conversation about recreational drugs.

He was reasonably sure he neither got nor wanted to get the man's name at the time. Even now, the predicament he was in had been entirely his own doing.

One thing was clear though; the man had no intention of joining the damned gardening club. If it was the person Richard thought, it was the draw probably to grow hemp. So he'd gotten himself caught by an actual garden enthusiast, and now Richard had gotten caught by him. Which made Richard almost as bad as him in the end.]

I don't care about gardening.

[It was blunt and, as he said it he pointedly looked at the person who was talking happily about soil.]

Really, it's not her fault he didn't realize something was up when she shrieked and started running instead of raising a shield. She'll take a few hits...but someone's about to get an entire bucket of water dropped on his head.

[Tim quickly draws his hand back from the water and turns to the voice addressing him - no one he recognizes, but he gives him a friendly smile anyway. No harm in that.]

No, not really - I was just curious about it. A magic fountain full of gift boxes seems a little weird, even for this place.

[Portals into alternate dimensions? Those are fine. Magic, however ... ]

Someone with such clear discerning taste? [And the question is posed as he moves his gaze over her form once she's approached. His eyes don't linger on the area she's called attention to with a hand, but perhaps he's just a gentleman?]

Dazed or confused? No, but one with such distinguished fashion sense would have found the varied styles of the Quarantine by now if she'd been here a while. I can think of shirts from three different boutiques that would suit you quite well already.

[He chuckles, a hearty sound, deep in his throat.] Oh, but I do. Meeting me is anyone's pleasure.

[He's fine!! Totally fine, honest. Tim pulls his hand out of the water, almost a little guiltily, and smiles at Jon.]

Nothing. I just wanted to see what it would do.

[And it did nothing, so. That's about what he expected.]

[ Shigeru is just a very curious individual, forgive him. ]

Missouri...that's in America, right? [ A bonus to having an edietic memory he supposed. ]

What was one of your favorite planets you ever visited?

[Damn. And here Tim thought he was being sneaky enough to not attract notice. Maybe he's a little too accustomed to not living in close quarters with anyone else. He smiles at her anyway, like sneaking out after dark isn't abnormal.]

Neither - [that's a lie, it's both] - I just couldn't sleep. Figured I'd go do something that wouldn't wake anyone else up.

[Clearly that didn't work.]

[He takes a seat across from her, crossing his legs, ankle to knee, and resting his arms on the armrests of his chair. It was an open gesture, but also one of confidence. There was a commanding air about Dorian Pavus that suggested he was at least aristocracy, a commonality he shared with her.]

Oh, certainly. The nobility is just as deadly as any viper, aren't they, and far less obvious. Especially the Senators.

[It's only polite to wait and admire the gymnastics on offer. Thor's own way of getting over is remarkably less showy, spinning Mjolnir and letting her pull him to the top of the wall.

For a moment he pauses there. Damian may notice that clouds are beginning to gather away from the city- a black rumbling mass approaching far faster than a natural storm would. Thor's eyes are on it, judging distance and intensity. He shouldn't ruin anyone's day from here.]

Are you ready, Damian Wayne? [It's not that storms are exciting, but...

No. Storms are exciting. Thor feels the hairs on the back of his neck rising with static electricity as he calls the storm closer. In a few minutes it will be overhead.]

Mm a lot of people seem to be from Earth, so that's why I figured most would know about the food.

[ Come to think of it... ] I don't think I've ever met anyone from my planet, and I've been here for a year. It's weird how that works, isn't it?

[ he wishes he didn't sound a little sad when saying that, but he does. ]

I'm not from there either. But maybe you could tell me more about the food from your world then! I can add it into what we're learning if you'd like.

[No, no, she couldn't escape Lola. Not that Rey would try--except the first couple of times they were stuck with each other.]

Alright, as long as things don't get busy here.. [Then maybe she could stay for a little bit, give Lola a break and just enjoy her present.

( if he'd been here any longer he would have found tim already. why is he starting out his trip onto some strange moon by owning everyone at some VR game? because he's damian wayne. and he's making his way over to tim, bumping into his side with full intentions to grab his phone out of his pocket (stealthily) while his attention is turned to damian ramming into him. )

Wow. Two whole hours, and you haven’t blown anything up, I’m -

[Impressed, is what he intends to say, but cuts off with a sigh, because he recognizes exactly what Damian’s doing. But he doesn’t move to stop him - Tim doesn’t feel like getting his arm dislocated today, thanks. Not over a phone, there’s nothing of import on it.]

You could just ask. [No, he couldn’t. That’s not Damian’s way.]

( storms are exciting. there was nothing in today's forecast about an oncoming storm. thor's ability to manipulate the weather, cause those dark clouds to roll in just in response to his will is enough proof he's something else.

the hammer definitely is. there's a grin on his lips before he can help himself, head tilted up to focus eyes on the oncoming storm. damian is careful to keep his body language looser, shoulders stiff and alert but not as openly ready fight as he would be if he were robin. damian wayne is still a persona he's adjusting to. finding his footing in the world outside his kingdom.

don't mind him if he looks a little too excited. ) Is a few storm clouds the best a god can do?

( it's best this way, tim. just give in. a few seconds to pin in tim's code and damian starts rummaging through his shit. currency kept via cellular device is a strange concept, but it seems to be working for here thus far. and with tim's phone still in hand, damian starts heading off towards the food stalls. )

[The commentary on his name and once over where what gave him pause. Richard wasn't used to being a subject of interest, well, he was, but not in this interest. The feeling was similar to being sized up by a parent or close friend of someone you were daring. He remembered it from when Coralee had introduced him to her parents, the easy "So you'er the Richard we've been hearing about" that her parents had said as they carefully watched him for flaws. The same look that he would have given any prospective dates of Charlie's had he had the chance to.

Which was what made it strange coming from someone Richard had neither met nor had ever heard Alex mention. Still, a response like that made it clear that the man knew Alex and at least partially considered her a friend. Then again, he seemed the type to find people as such easily.]

[It’s true, he’s not Jason, but Tim has a funny little memory of being tossed a severed head stuffed with a grenade, so it’s not like Jason has dibs on blowing shit up. Tim rolls his eyes but follows after Damian pretty quickly to catch up. Letting Damian steal his phone for a little bit’s fine, just not forever.]

I've been made aware. ( he's already had a conversation with jon, about the mansion, jason, all of it. he'd been in the wayne home for a little while before throwing tim that head, okay, it wasn't an immediate response to being somewhere new.

one of the food vendors is his next stop, asking for one of the vegetarian kebabs before holding up tim's phone for payment. he could use his own allowance. but why would he, when he can just use tim's. )

[With Loki for a brother, Thor's learned to spot attempts to manipulation a mile off. Not that he minds. The chance to really enjoy a storm isn't often granted to him.

Something wild appears in Thor's eyes, a delight in the winds that pull at his cape, the nearing sound of thunder, and the sharp taste of ozone that now fills the air. In the distance there's the sound of rain, but where he and Damian are there's only a light shower. Better to keep the rains away from the city, to avoid flooding.

Darkness falls around them as the clouds block the sun. At last Thor looks away from the storm down to Damian, who seems to be enjoying it as much as Thor is.]

You ask how I am certain of who I am? [How he can be so at ease when he doesn't know the exact details of his past, when one story or another might equally be the truth?

The world turns white as a bolt of lightning streaks down to find him, still atop the wall. It envelops him, lightning licking at his skin as the thunder roars away over the city.

How can he not be certain?]
