It's a party, ya'll
who: Everyone's invited!
what: That potluck he mentioned
when: Saturday afternoon
where: The park
warnings: None so far!
[True to form, Remy pulled out all the stops for this particular potluck. He has it on good authority that Rogue's bringing cornbread, but he's got what seems to be a wireless two-burner setup that he's brought along to the park, one of which is dominated by a very large pot of fragrant and spicy gumbo, and the other by a very large pot of cooked white rice, on warm. There's a small table with plastic-seeming (but totally biodegradable) bowls and utensils, two large coolers (because people might be bringing drinks), two big folding tables (for all the things that might be brought) and a big expanse of the park to cop a squat in and have some good grub, place some outdoors-y things, and have some fun! The park as a grill too, if someone wants to fire it up!]
(OOC: Feel free to post your own starters and have a ball! This is meant to be fun, after all. If you want Remy specifically, let me know! He'll be wandering around.)

Steve Rogers (616) | OTA
As the afternoon turns later toward the evening, he can be found drawing people around the park. Quick sketches in a book he has with him to fill in later as he saves little snapshots of the people he's spoken with and noted enjoying the potluck with friends, new or old. ]
[ooc: hit me up if you have any ideas you'd like to jump on for this that I didn't provide for. I'll roll with it!]

And it's with that spirit Remy finds a basketball and a Steve to challenge, a cocky smirk on his lips when he finds the Cap on the green, not far from the paved basketball courts.]
It ain't a Frisbee, Cap, but you up for some 1 on 1?
no subject
He isn't sure how he feels about that. On some level, it still feels like he's abandoning something.
But then there are times like this, where people in Quarantine surprise him. He smiles when Remy approaches him with a basketball, offering to play him with a cocky look that feels just like home. For a moment, Steve feels that longing so intensely he goes silent in surprise. Then he grins, with a light of challenge in his eyes, and nods.]
You sure you're up for that? I don't want to embarrass you at your party.
no subject
He shakes his head, giving the basketball a spin on a finger as he grins.]
Don' you worry none 'bout dat, Cap. I got a few tricks up my sleeve.
[He dribbled the ball on the hard top a few times, then passing it to Steve.]
You sure you remember de rules, old man?
no subject
He catches the ball with his fingertips and dribbles it, testing it out. He hasn't held a basketball in over a year and the feeling is good. Being able to break away from his routine gives Steve a better sense of being at home in the Quarantine.]
You know, I'm reasonably confident that I can figure things out. At least enough to get the job done. You just put this into that, right?
[It's a joke that will never die. Steve finds that he doesn't really need it to, either. He nods toward the hoop, putting on his innocent face for show.]

Grinning, Remy chuckles and nods once.]
Dat's de general idea, Cap. I'll even let ya slide on traveling.

Even if it doesn't leave much room for the actual hot dog in them.
When she reaches the front, Alex just gives him a bright and happy grin.]
Hey Steve!
no subject
Alex, good to see you. I hope those mean that you're hungry.
[Because he has plenty of hotdogs and burgers to share.]
Enjoying the picnic?
no subject
[Even if she's on a bit of a timeline, Alex doesn't care. She's going to stop and smell the roses, or at least eat hot dogs loaded with absurd things, because what's a picnic without one, right?]
Are you having fun? How'd you get stuck manning the grill?
