[Great job indeed, Rey is more skeptical than anything else at this point.]

They wouldn't be yelling at someone--or have other kids running around like screaming droids!

[Considering the noise that's going outside, she doesn't doubt none of those kids don't belong to him, or came here freely. So what could he want with them?

She stares at him, not moving any closer to him.]

I don't even know you! I can't trust you if I don't know you. [As familiar as he looks, she doesn't recall his name or anything. Just someone who was taller than her and took her here.]

I told you--all of you. I'm Poe. Poe Dameron. You're in a strange place with rules you don't get and I'm trying to make sure none of you run outside and get hit by a truck.

[ He drags his hand through his hair for the umpteenth time today. It's starting to look like it belongs to a mad scientist. ]

I'm not good at this, I'm not good with kids, but have I hurt any of you? Have I--I'm trying to keep you from hurting yourselves.

[The name didn't ring a bell in Rey's mind. But now looking at him, really looking at him and how exasperated he must be...there was something tugging at the corners of her mind. Like a memory that wanted to form, but she was too stubborn, scared, and frustrated for it to come to the surface.]

I wouldn't get hit by a truck--I've been on my own and haven't died.

[She admits stubbornly, but softly. She was still unsure of Poe...though he makes a point. He hasn't done anything to hurt them--just corralled them into his home and trying to keep them there...]

I'm fine on my own...I've had to be. So you...you can let me go.

[ These kids. Is he the only one of them who had any kind of normal childhood, or does that just make his own childhood abnormal?
