Lola's birthday is hardly a surprise, she's far too... particular, to let her boyfriend or her best friends handle such an activity. She didn conscript some friends to help her rearrange the tables in the cantina, keeping some seats available but opening space for people to dance. Others to help her cook up and bake up a large supply of food, all of it incredibly tasty and colorful. Splurging a little for her birthday is totally okay.
There's a table for gifts under the portrait of her, but she isn't expecting any. She'd rather have people than things, that's just who Lola is. She invites anyone and tells them to bring friends if they like. She loves being around people, and doesn't want anyone to be alone.
There were two handmade signs, one on the main door to the cantina, the other by the entrance to the patio area. The signs are bright and cheerful in spite of the message on them.Private Function - Come in if you like!
Guests are expected to have fun and be polite.
That means no maiming murdering fighting punching or threatening each other.
You know who you are!
The Newly Opened Lola's Cantina (Open - April 23)
Lola's cleaned up and stocked everything, hired a small staff, and hopes her attempts to get people in the door during the blossom festival meant she'd get a proper turnout for paying customers. She did some advertising and she also lacked any shame in going to her friends and trying to guilt them into showing up.
She had a business to run after all.
While she would spend some of her time in the kitchen cooking up meals, she was sticking to her strengths at least until she had a better trained wait staff. She was going to be out in front greeting customers and taking orders.
Because you do not look as cute as this then hide out in the kitchen. "Hey there, what can I get ya?"

Open for birthday mingle stuff.
Either way, he was here, and he was behaving for Lola's sake. He knew this was important to her, so he was going to do his best and keep his temper in check if Ivar showed up. Lola was more important and deserved better than that on her birthday, after all.
He'd originally gone looking for a gift that was cute and colorful, because that was Lola. She was all about the cute and colorful thing. But something just stood out to him when he'd been browsing. He wasn't usually one for actual gifts, either. Most of the time, he would take someone out for a special thing (which he was planning on doing anyway), but he liked this. Lola would find a small jewelry box on the table, on top of a cute and colorful birthday card with a save-the-date type of vibe for a special birthday dinner. Inside, she'd find a necklace, the letter on the small charm being an "L".
Grand opening
That and only that was finally why she attended the opening of her cantina, though it took more courage than she thought she could muster. The shame of her condition and having to constantly need assistance made her want to hole herself up in her room at the farm, but everyone was instant she'd go and show support, even if she needed help to get there.
Using the cane and keeping an ear out for the sound of chairs, Gyda carefully sat herself down at the table, holding her cane close incase someone tried to nab it. Her ears perked at the sound of Lola's voice.
"Lola?" She had to be certain. "...Could I just have some water." She wasn't sure if she could stomach food at the moment.

"Gyda?" Lola had gotten lost in her own little world of birthdays and businesses, but she was aware of what happened. And beyond that the cane was sort of a dead giveaway, wasn't it. "Of course, but are you sure you don't want something else too? I mean, you came all this way you might as well eat something."

Eating while blind was tricky enough, and the last thing she wanted to do was attract even more attention to herself. A cup of soup was something she could hold in both hands.
She reached into her bag and pulled out a small package, containing a hair wrap that she'd made before the accident. "Happy birthday."
Gyda just wished she could see what it looked like on her.

Lola makes a curious noise at the package, "Thank you it's-" And then a long silence as Lola tries to figure out what it is, at least Gyda missed the party meaning she missed the usual response Lola has to gifts. Loud and quick and very noticeably happy, "Hmm... It's very nice, but I'm not sure when would be the best time to wear it."
It wasn't in her usual style, she could still make it work because Lola could make anything work with enough forethought and prep. But it definitely wasn't a work thing and it definitely wasn't a fancy thing.
