Wait... ["Uchiha-kun" was the one who had helped Viktor? Yuuri frowns.] You mean Sasuke?
[While his memories of that night are still hazy--he suspects the weird eye hypnosis thing has something to do with it--Yuuri does vaguely remember a second ninja there later. Yuuri looks over at Eichi, noticing he's a little distracted.]
What're looking at? Oh, did you see something you like?
[There's a tense atmosphere now, as if something is about to happen--except nothing does, as far as they can tell...though the "gem" glints oddly for a moment. Yuuri frowns at the sword.]
I thought there was something weird about this one earlier... [He leans down to get a better look at it.] It looks kind of ornate. Maybe it was just something put on display? [Yuuri can't imagine anyone using something so fancy in an actual battle. ]
Hmm, it's not just that it's ornate, but... How can I say this?
[There's something else that's off about it. He pulls his hand back and leans down with Yuuri, instead, peering closer.] Doesn't it give you the impression that it's smiling?
Smiling? I don't know about that, but I was looking at the gem earlier...
[With a frown, Yuuri reaches for the sword before he can think better of it, pulling it out of the display rack and then holding it flat in his hands.]
This one right on the top. [Just as he's pointing it out, the gem unmistakably blinks again. Yuuri squeaks, almost throwing it back onto the display with a speed he didn't know he had.] You saw that, right??
[And like the high school student he is, he's immediately whipping his phone out, tapping a button to record as he leans in close to that eyeball thing again.]
[Yuuri stares at Eichi, distracted. The way Eichi had whipped out his phone had reminded Yuuri so strongly of his best friend that he can't help feeling incredibly homesick for a second.
Swallowing hard, Yuuri shakily tries to draw his focus back to the problem at hand.] Y-yeah, it looked like it blinked.
[Before the two of them can wonder any further, the sword in question abruptly shoots up into the air... and then flies right at them with an angry, hollow sound.]
[Eichi doesn't notice that change in Yuuri's mood, too focused on filming this sword to try and catch a blink. And then, it soars up, and Eichi stumbles backwards, following it with his camera even in his surprise.]
I-it rose up?! [Not just that, but now it's flying towards them, and Eichi can only grip his phone tight, aimed at it, and tense up as he looks to the side like he's bracing for impact.]
[Eichi no. Yuuri only has about half a second to stare at him again, this time incredulously.]
You're recording this?! [Of course he is. Panicking a little, Yuuri half-tackles Eichi, pulling him to the side quickly. The haunted sword thing zooms right past them, then circles angrily back toward them.]
I...it's coming back! [Yuuri ducks out of the way and winces as the sword knocks over the sword display they'd found it in.]
[What's wrong with recording?! He has to stop now, though, clicking it off and pocketing it as he's dragged to the side. Now, he clings to Yuuri's arm, ducking and wincing at the sound of crashing metal.]
We should get out of here! [There's some angry shouting behind them, and Yuuri cringes some more when he turns and sees the shop's owner pointing at the ruined displays. Briefly, the polite part of him balks and thinks they should stop to help him clean up, but that's quickly silenced when the haunted sword makes another pass at them.]
Sorry! We-we'll make it up to you! [Yuuri stutters as he calls back, then stumbles out of the shop hurriedly with Eichi in tow.]
[WHY THIS. Eichi, meanwhile, doesn't worry about the shop at all, too busy raising both hands to cover his own head as they stumble out of the shop. He can't run for very long at all, so it's only a short distance out of the shop before Eichi is forced to a stop, hunching over and coughing into a hand. Is it gone? He can't look back, he can't check...]
[Yuuri keeps a worried hand on Eichi's arm as his friend catches his breath.
In the meantime, Yuuri scans their surroundings nervously, watching for a telltale glint of metal. He lets out a quiet sigh when a couple minutes pass without any sign of the sword.]
[It takes Eichi a moment to stop coughing and catch his breath, but once he does, he stands up tall again, staring warily over his shoulder towards the shop.]
What was that, exactly...? [He lowers his hand from his face, finally, though he's still frowning.] Even if I know that things like ghosts and spirits aren't real, something like that came a little out of nowhere, didn't it? Was it some sort of magic?
It did look just like that, yes. To be able to fly through the air... If it wasn't haunted, then something was remotely controlling it. I wonder...
[Which is it? He tends to lean towards science and logical explanations first, but. That was a little much.] I could have sworn I saw it blink, as well.

Without responding to Yuuri, he reaches forward and pokes at the flat of the blade, instead.]

[Eluvio was as weird as it got, in terms of supernatural things, until recently.]
It looked sort of like a haunted sword, didn't it?

Maybe it's a spirit of some kind.
[He says it dubiously, but well, they did see what happened just now with their own two eyes.]

Please don't say things like that, Eichi! That's the last thing we'd need right now.

We didn't find anything for you, either... I'm not sure if I want to go into another weapons store right now, though.
Maybe we should try again another day?

[Haha... Just reminding him it was horrifying.]

Relaxing sounds like a great idea right now. [It feels like he's used up his freak out quota for the next few months, honestly.
Yuuri presses a hand over his heart--which has finally started to slow down from it's frantic beating.]
What do you think of the bakery we saw on the way here?
