who: Rogue and Thor
what: Sparring of too ridiculously powered Avengers.
when: Early April
where: Outside the perimeter
warnings: Violence, sass, and a KO kiss.
[He may not be the Thor she knew from her universe, but he was certainly the God of Thunder and Avenger, which means Rogue was getting a good workout in that afternoon. She hadn't worn her uniform to save it from getting damaged, instead opting for leggings, boots, a long-sleeved shirt, and of course, a pair of gloves. Those were digs she had no problem losing to the good cause of letting off some steam and meeting a different version of an old teammate properly.
Wanting to practice her hand to hand and more archaic weapons skills, Rogue had borrowed a sword from the perimeter guard (or somewhere?), but hadn't seen the need to bring a shield of any kind. So far, she's proven herself quite durable, taking punches and blocking hits with her weapon and body alike. Not only that, but she hits like a freight train, finding it a joy not having to hold back against a sparring partner.
Of course, the mutant has a few tricks up her sleeve still, neither of which she uses even after a rather hearty punch sends her slamming into and through the remnants of a building.]
Well that one tickled a bit sugah.
[Okay so maybe she's a bit slower to get up than at the start, but she's wearing one hell of a smirk as she does. She stubbornly still has fight in her. Fight and pride. So, don't mind her taking flight with the aim to slam into him like a battering ram.]

The fight gains momentum quickly, and she gives as good as she gets. He can't be complacent with her, he needs to stay on his toes. He takes the opportunity to catch his breath when she's picking herself up from the building. He's sweating and breathing harder, he's trying to remain stern, but he can't help smirking back at her. His eyes are white and lit up, electricity crackling around him.
Thor crosses his arms in front of him, prepared to take the brunt of her landing if it means he can keep her in close range.]

When he braces himself for her landing, she grins and pulls an audible and angles herself a little lower at the last minute and grabs a firm hold on his lower leg before banking hard towards the sky.] Tray tables up, seat belts fastened. We're goin' up!
[The climb accelerates quickly, not wanting to give him a chance to get his proverbial footing, or more accurately, the mental focus to aim what she suspects is some mighty nasty lightning her way.]

Don’t you dare- [Thor warns, though there’s a joking lilt to his voice. It’s too late to stop her when she pulls his leg out from under him and he’s sliding off the ground with a grunt. He’s a little impressed by the fact that she can lift him, but he doesn’t look impressed.
He writhes, trying to loosen himself from her grip. He doesn’t aim to electrocute her, but he’s damn well going to try kicking her.]

Ah dare. [She comments conversationally over her shoulder with a grin, which quickly slips into an offended expression as his boot comes at her, as if she couldn't believe the audacity. So, almost comically, she shakes him a bit while she turns sharply, otherwise leveling off. She's a bit curious as to the durability of this Thor, but decides actually dropping him from this altitude would be a bit much.]
You know if you keep wigglin' 'round ah might end up droppin' your derriere. [Though, maybe he can fly and that's what he wants to happen.] Since you're all sorts of muscle, you'll hit terminal velocity easy peasy.
no subject
He flings another current of electricity at her, aiming for her shoulder so he can non-lethally hurt her enough that she might drop him.]

Floating mid-air and rubbing her shoulder (high marks for aim) with a scowl, Rogue watches him go higher into the air for several moments.
One Mississippi.
Two Mississippi.
Three Mississippi.]
Don't worry sugah, ah'll save you! [She hollers up at him before flying up to meet the other Avenger, her goal to pluck his muscular derriere right out of the sky, bridal carry if she can manage it. Because pride is a sin she knows all too well.]
no subject
He doesn’t expect that Rogue will sweep under him and catch him midair like this either, he doesn’t find the position he’s in particularly flattering. His expression says as much.]
Should you really be saving me in a fight?
no subject
Oh that fight's already over.
[They're so adorable when they're naive still.
Putting on the proverbial flying breaks hard, she pulls him against her and grabs hold of the front of whatever he's wearing. He again receives minimal warning of her plan, just a terribly devious grin, eye contact and a 'give us a kiss' before she's doing just that.
Rogue's used to kissing bad guys for their powers, it's about the only way she's able to ever kiss anyone with her mutation. Thor's not a bad guy and she's genuinely had a good time sparring with him, so she makes this one a good one, well as good as a kiss that's draining the life energy from someone can feel. If he fights her, then it will hurt, otherwise it will just feel mighty odd. Regardless, she's going to pick up some memories from the god of thunder, and she doesn't have much control or choice on which ones.]

He doesn’t relax into the kiss, but he doesn’t resist it. The peculiar feeling takes hold and he’s not sure what to do with himself. Memories will flash through Rogue’s mind, kissing a girl with wavy hair and bright eyes in the rain, the surroundings reminiscent of Riverview. Memories of time spent with the girl are interspersed between memories from back home. Memories of watching Valkyrie drag him away, watching the Hulk fall down on him through the sky, lightning over the rainbow bridge and visions of Asgard exploding into stardust are always going through his mind.]

He'll feel a hot dampness running onto his face and lips, thick and heavy tears that ran freely from her now wide eyes, briefly remaining her own green before beginning to crackle with his lightning. As she lives through the memories, disjointed as some of them were, her expression reflects the exact emotions he felt during each moment of his, only she lacks any ability to control and dampen their intensity. To her, they're raw and powerful, hitting home like a meteoric impact, only there are further emotional ripples as the feelings of losing his people trigger her own painful memories. They've both lost so much and her heart aches for him.
Then there are feelings of regret and yearning for the girl in his memories, but also for the love she's lost in her own life, the love she can never properly have with her power. She's just left with these stolen and parasitic affections.
Her breathing is rough as she battles the emotions, debating whether she should (or could) kiss him again, hand still tender on his jaw as her fingers crackle with electricity.]

He blinks, glancing upward beyond them to check if it's raining before he realises the tears are coming from her. He raises a brow, uncertain.]
Are you alright?
[He asks despite himself, then glances down at his chin where he feels the sting electricity against his skin.]
..What did you do?
no subject
Blinking back any further tears, she too looks up at the sky, willing them to stop and the emotions she absorbed to compartmentalize enough so that she could grab the reins of herself once more. At his question, her attention returns to him, features twisted in empathy.]
Ah'm so sorry for your people Thor... For Asgard.
[His concern touches her, but she feels immensely for him and his people. Again, his glance pulls her back, and the slightest of smirks ghosts over her lips.]
Ah borrowed a bit of you.
[Experimentally, she wills the electricity in her hand to grow as she traces her gloved thumb over his jaw, though her eyes do flick back to his lips.]
The longer ah keep skin to skin contact, the more ah absorb.
no subject
He doesn’t look all too happy about it, but his mind is going places he doesn’t want it to now. He’s feeling the guilt creep in, knowing he’s here and fooling around while his people are suffering. He knows he can’t think that way, it drains him, but the thought is in the back of his mind at all times.]
And what are you intending on doing with them? [He changes the subject. Back to the fight. Back to something he enjoys.]
no subject
Well... [ She drawls thick as she cocks her head to the side as the crackling over her body intensified, her eyes charging and sparking with heat. Rogue focuses on feeling the strength of what power she absorbed charging through her, on her awareness of the charges coursing through the air around them. It reminded her of Bobby's powers in a way, elemental and all around if one just knew where to look, but it's really Storm's that give her the edge in picking up this delightful package.
A slow grin growing as clouds thickened around them, creating friction and gathering charge as pulls it all around them.]
Ah intend on winnin'. [And with that, Rogue wills all the lightning to her and kisses him hard, directing the energy out through her lips and into his with a growl. This time, she plans on getting him to tap out one way or another. Now that she knows what sort of memories to expect, she mentally guards herself from the emotions as best she can while handling his powers at the same time.]
