Action; The park

[ So for most of the afternoon Shigeru will be out and about drawing things as he is wont to do. Of course for him drawing was a means of therapy in a way. It helped clear his head and ease whatever anxieties or fears he might have. He honestly never thought that his drawings would actually come to life though.

So if you’re in the park one day you might hear a loud ‘yelp’ and see one lone cinnamon roll clutching at his drawing pad as the birds he just drew on his pad spring to life and just peel themselves off the pages. ]

W-What’s going on?! [ Is this another weird malfunction?! Is he going crazy? No he’s not because those birds are awful close and feel awful real as the squawk and nudge at Shigeru’s foot for some food. But unfortunately that pad has some other things in it too. Plants, tentacles, and claws will sprout themselves from the pages as Shigeru drops his pad on the ground and moves away. Oh gosh. Oh god. He doesn’t know what to do?! There’s a resounding growl as the spiky head of something will start to poke out through the pages. ] Oh no! I-I didn’t mean to do that. Go-go back onto your page! I-I didn’t mean to wake you up.

[ He sure is yelling at his drawing pad but the creature will grunt as it finally pulls itself out, along with some less than scary things as well. They are all surrounding Shigeru as he moves away a little, unsure what to do, since he suddenly feels really tired from using up a lot of energy manifesting all of them. ] I-I don’t have anything to give you. I-I don’t think pictures really eat…

[ Please help him he doesn’t know what to do?! But at least after only 5 minutes they’ll disappear, thankfully. ]

Action; Flower festivities

[ So when the festival really kicks off Shigeru will be absolutely ecstatic. Honestly how can he not be given this was the festival where he met Genji in that super embarrassing way?! Honestly he rather just forget that ever happened, so he's definitely not wandering around, looking for which type of flowers to give to Genji. Nope he's definitely not contemplating that as he huffs and crosses his arms over his chest with a clearly puzzled and uncertain expression plastered all over his face. ]

There's so many choices...but Genji can just grow whatever he wants. Maybe flowers isn't the best option? [ He says to himself as he sighs again. Auighsaju! This is so hard!!

He's having a big crisis right now. ]

Maybe something like a-a outfit? [ No. That's dumb. Maybe he should just get Genji a matching ring. Wait, that's not right. Oh my god he just though about getting him a ring unconsciously. Just kill him. He's so bad at this, lord. And while he's having this crisis the new foreign alien stall owner seems pretty exasperated as well, so they'll just shove a whole bunch of those varying flowers into Shigeru's arms and send him on his way. He's been there for like almost an hour so the stall owner doesn't even bother with making Shigeru pay. They just want him gone so other people can buy things?! ]

Ah! W-Wait! I didn't...pay you. [ Hrm. He now has an even bigger crisis and it's these flowers. If you bump into him he might offer you some, unaware of their effects. Which will you choose? Baby Blue Eyes, Chamomile, Rose, Crepe Myrtle, or Valerian? It's your choice! ]

Um. Would you like some f-flowers? I was just given these but I probably don't need them all so...you can have some.

Action; Outside the wall

[ When he can’t draw, which has never been an issue for him, the only other thing that helps him is, well, training. He does it from time to time but hasn’t in a while due to his gate getting worse and today just happens to be a very bad to have chosen to go out and fight monsters. A pack of wild alien dogs was not something he had expected to run into. And unfortunately for them running into Shigeru wasn’t good for them either. At first it looks like Shigeru will need help, as he's covered in wounds and surrounded. But his gate will activate when he's slammed into a rock, hard enough to crack it. He'll straighten then, eyes turning black and his irises purple as his gate erupts behind him.

Shigeru is injured but the wounds don’t last very long, although for anyone who sees him and comes to his aid the terribly nasty gash to his side still hasn’t healed all the way and the cuts and bruises on him are just beginning to recede. More alarming is the state of Shigeru’s gate which is riddled with black, dark, veins and dripping a tar like substance that disintegrates whatever it falls onto. Shigeru looks far worse than he has in a while, but the Shigeru that most know isn’t exactly around right now, indicated by the black smoke and runic characters now etched on both sides of Shigeru’s neck and face, each breath he takes a billow of black smoke escapes him. There’s also a look in his eye, murderous, and clearly unstable as he takes up his stance to parry the creature’s next attack.

The alien like dog creature will launch itself towards him, but Shigeru easily bashes it away with his shield as he lets out an amused laugh, turning and jumping into the air, slashing the creature through its hind legs. It’ll let out a pained, scared, yelp as it tries to fight but those black, inky, tentacles that sprout from Shigeru’s shadow pin the beast down. He’ll grab it by the neck and start slamming its head into the ground in a repeated motion until it falls motionlessly on the ground. Just for good measure he'll stab it through the neck, tilting his head a little as he pull his swords out and just...looks at the blood in a noncommittal way. Hm. That wasn't very fun at all. He’ll straighten with a stoic, emotionless, expression on his face as he lets out another laugh as he covers his eyes with bloodied gloved hands, a soft ‘ah’ escaping him as he turns towards the cowering pack whose leader he just brutally killed. His sword, shield, and gloves now all pristine as he disintegrates whatever blood that was on them. ] Pathetic.

[ Another laugh as he steps forward, sword at the ready. He doesn’t mean anything he’s doing right now. But it was a culmination of a lot of things that caused this. Stress, anger, sadness and heart break. He usually kept it bottled up inside him so it’s no wonder this would be the result. He’s not exactly all there should anyone run into him. Just don’t try to interrupt his fun, otherwise he might turn to you next. ]

[ Shigeru lets out a noise of agreement and concern as he still eyes Genji's wrist. He does smile and nod however at the reassurance. ]

Okay. But if it gets to be too much just say so? We can take a break.

[ Says the one with hideous burn marks on his stomach and broken ribs right now. The pain has been consistent the entire time here and he feels himself getting weaker by the second. Shigeru will just let out a soft pained little exhale of air as his free hand unconsciously goes to his side before he realizes what he's doing and just uses it to balance himself against the kitchen counter.

It really does hurt, he doesn't know if he can stand for much more. But he'll just focus on making those onigiri instead. ]

D-Do you think we should...do something special today? [ Shigeru no. His face his going pale, paler then it already was to begin with, as he softly asks that question. ] It is sort of like an anniversary of s-sorts, right? So-so we should celebrate.

[ If there's one thing Genji knows, it's what pain looks like. Seeing his hand go to his side makes Genji stop what he's doing and turn to face him fully. ]

Shigeru. [ He holds his hand a little tighter, a warm little squeeze. ] The thing I want the most right now is for you to rest.

[ He looks at him, eyes a little sad. ]

As I said, you do not have to force yourself in front of me. Please, let's just go to my room and rest. I can bring you some food.

[ He just...looks so upset there and then, almost like he's about to breakdown and cry. ]

But I. I'm fine. It's okay... [ it's really not and he's tired and hurting but he doesn't want to disappoint Genji like he had disappointed Dodger. ]

I-I don't want to...ruin anything with-with all of this. [ He just vaguely gestures to himself there and then. But the hand he's using to grip the counter is so tight almost as if Shigeru is going to crack it with the force he's exerting on it. ]

I...just didn't want to be selfish and-and make you worry. [ Because Dodger calling him that had hurt and stuck most of all. He doesn't want to make Genji take care of him on a day that's special to them both. ]

[ It makes Genji's heart break a little, to hear him say those things. Shigeru has always been so self sacrificing... does he really think so little of himself? A heat stings at the corners of his eyes and Genji blinks it back.

Genji moves closer to him, one hand still holding his and bring his other to cup his cheek gingerly. ]

I am concerned for you because I love you, Shigeru. You are not selfish for being in pain. And you have not done anything wrong, especially to me.

[ He looks sad again, eyes tired. ]

You are too wonderful to think of yourself as an inconvenience.

I-I did do a lot of things wrong... [ his voice cracks a little as he just wipes at his eyes again. He felt so horrible right now and he just wants to forget and leave it but he really can't. ]

I am. I-I'm just an inconvenience with this-this stupid phobia and these powers. And not knowing how to act. I'm only in p-pain because it was my fault. I...deserved it.

[ Of course he did or that's what he believes. He had hurt Dodger so very badly and he knew it would anger the other man so this was the result. ]

I broke up with Dodger. [ There. He finally said it. But it doesn't make him feel any better. In fact it just makes him feel worse now that's finally admitted it to someone else. ] I hurt him, Genji. I never meant to-to hurt him.

[ But Dodger had hurt him so many times before, even if Shigeru doesn't care about that or even hold it against the other man. ] I feel so h-horrible.

[ Ugh. He had given up on Dodger when he said he wouldn't. ] I said I would never give up on him but I-I did. But I can't risk turning into that monster again. I feel so...selfish.

We all have done things wrong in the past. It's what makes us human. [ Genji brings his thumb to brush against the corner of Shigeru's eye. ] Goodness knows you know all about my sordid past. And you do not think less of me for it.

[ He removes his hand to give him space. ]

I have never once thought of you to be a burden, my love, you know this. But I know how hard it is to quiet those thoughts when they appear.

[ But at the mention of Dodger... Genji is glad he no longer has the bright red nano-lenses in his eyes, as it would most certainly have made the expression that crosses his face for a moment all that more menacing. ]

Did Dodger do this to you?

[ No, it's not the time for his anger. As much as a part of him wants to rush out the apartment, find Dodger and cut his hands off— Genji lets out a breath and let's the fury inside him go. Shigeru, his love, is always more important. ]

You are not selfish for standing up for yourself. In fact, it makes you so incredibly brave. He is the one who is selfish, not you. You have done nothing to apologize for, ever.

[ Genji doesn't notice how emphatic his words are getting until he finishes, taking in a gulp of a breath. He leans down to press his forehead against Shigeru's, speaking softly and almost pleadingly. ]

I love you. I will never hurt you. I want us to make dinner like this every night.

I just wish I was better at-at all of this. [ He means relationships in general. Though when Genji asks about Dodger Shigeru's face pales as he looks away. He...doesn't say anything as he just covers his eyes with his hands and lets out a small, choked back, sob. Ugh he feels so pathetic crying like this. He hates how all of this has gone down. He never wanted it to occur like that at all. ]

I-I shouldn't have broken up with him while he was in the hospital. [ He'll say that through more sobbing. ] I should have listened to-to C-Cisco and took someone with m-me. I didn't think he-he would hurt me...

[ Not like he had, physically or mentally. It was just...the wounds were still so fresh and he'd been good about hiding them this entire time until now. But getting it off his chest like this made him feel better, even if it was Genji who he's crying his eyes out to. He'll just wipe at his eyes as he takes a few shaky breaths, each one causing him to flinch in pain. He's still holding his side, where his ribs are, so Genji can probably guess that underneath his shirt does not look pretty at all. Shigeru just looks back at Genji with tears in his eyes before he cries a little bit more at the other man's words. ]

I'm sorry.

You are the first person I have ever shared myself like this with, you know. We are all learning.

[ Seeing him cry just makes his heart ache even worse. Genji wishes he could do something to take his pain away in an instant... but it doesn't work like that. If things were only so easy. ]

You did the right thing. Your pain is not your fault. None of it.

[ Genji pulls away a little and squeezes his hand softly. ]

Let's go rest. Please? I'll bring you something to eat. You need to sleep to heal.

[ Shigeru will just sniffle as he wipes at his eyes and nose with his gloves. Ugh now they're dirty and he wants to wash his hands as he thinks about all this again and again. The stress building up as he rubs at his hands.

He nods silently as he finally calms down from everything. He's safe with Genji and he knows he'll protect him no matter what. It felt nice to get that out and off his chest though. Still there's the matter of his wounds that Genji will not be pleased with seeing when he finally does. ]

I...I ruined the day for us. [ It's just a blatant and dull sounding admission as he looks tiredly down at his hands. At least he managed to stop scratching them before they bled. ]

I'm s-sorry for-for bringing up my-my problems again.

You haven't ruined anything, love. I would much rather know how you're feeling than not.

[ Genji reaches and puts his warm hands in Shigeru's. ]

You never have to apologize for that. I always will listen and help you.

[ With a gentle tug, he leans down to press a kiss to the top of his head. ]

Let's go to my room so you can sit down.

[ Shigeru will flinch but it's just an automatic response at this point. He'll still wipe at his eyes, now red and puffy, with a gloved hand. ]

I-I feel like such a-a burden to you though. [ But hopefully this will be the last of it, now with Dodger out of the picture. But he can't say he really knows for sure if that'll be the case. ]

Okay. [ His voice is soft, tired, and most of all pained as he clutches at his side again when he finally moves. His ribs hurt from the added efforts of crying now and he's just extremely uncomfortable. But maybe lying down will help his broken ribs. ]

You are never a burden. We all need someone to help hold us up sometime and there is no shame in that.

[ With a gentle hand of assistance, he leads Shigeru back into his bedroom and helps get him sitting on the bed gingerly. ]

Do you need anything for the pain? Or something to drink?

[ Shigeru lets out a soft noise of acknowledgement as he looks back at Genji. He'll take a seat once they're in Genji's room with an obvious sign of pain as he flinches and sucks his breath in a little. It's really obvious that he's uncomfortable and in a lot of pain but he'll still shake his head regardless. ]

Maybe something to-to drink would be good. [ And so he can check on his wounds while Genji is out of room. He gives him a staggered, shaky, smile. ]

If it's not t-too much trouble.

Not at all. I made some tea a bit ago, just a moment.

[ He goes back into the kitchen and just... breathes. Genji closes his eyes and puts his hands over his mouth, turning his head up to the ceiling. In, out. The gentle tune of Master's omnic orbs.

Revenge solves nothing. It takes only the one who seeks it. It would hurt the one he loves more to rush out of here, find Dodger, and make him feel as much pain as Shigeru has. Tenfold.

Genji drops his hands and goes to the cupboard, getting a cup and pouring some tea. He heads back into his room quietly, a soft little smile on his face. ]

Here. Do you need any help getting ready for bed?

[ And while Genji isn't in the room Shigeru will shakily lift up his shirt to check on his ribs, which are still in terrible condition, but at least he's healing slowly. His face is very pale when he quickly shifts in place and pulls his shirt back down when Genji enters the room again. But Genji will probably get a quick glimpse of Dodger's work, the bruising intense and angry spreading down most of his chest.

He'll shake his head there and then. He doesn't want Genji to see it. He doesn't want him to...do anything to Dodger because he's scared Dodger and Genji fighting will actually kill Genji or Dodger this time around. If Genji got hurt because of him, he's not sure what he would do. He wouldn't be able to handle it. Especially since he just broke up with Dodger he knows Genji is a prime target for him right now. ]

N-No. I-I'm okay to do it by myself. You've done more then enough for me as is. So I-I can do the rest.

[ He knows that hurting someone does more than just cause injury. The fallout of it wouldn't be worth it; wouldn't be worth the risk of Shigeru being heartbroken, in whatever way that would happen.

He puts the tea on his nightstand and smiles tiredly. ]

Very well. But if you need any help, just ask. I'll go pick up the kitchen and you can get situated, then we can get to sleep.

[ He knows it's time to give Shigeru space, to calm down. Genji has no intention of being a smothering boyfriend, or trying to act like he has to 'fix' him. That's not how this works. ]

[ Shigeru really appreciates Genji right now. If anything he's just going to take his time and get himself situated as he tries to calm down some more. He's just...really tired and so incredibly drained, physical, mentally, and emotionally. So when Genji finally comes back Shigeru will be lying in bed, nestled underneath the covers as he gives Genji a soft smile. At least some of the tea is gone, so that's a good thing, but Shigeru's color hasn't returned and he looks extremely worn.

He still manages to smile when Genji comes into the room however, his expression loving as he moves to sit up with a wince. ]

I-I'm really grateful for all of this Genji. Thank you for-for being here with me. [ His cheeks color a little as he gives Genji another look. He really is so incredibly lucky to have someone like Genji in his life. And despite the hurt and heart ache he still has for Dodger it's eased and soothed by Genji's presence in general. ]

I love you.

[ Genji has a few bites of rice before putting the leftovers away for another day. He shuts everything off and steps gently back into his room.

Seeing Shigeru curled up in his bed always makes his heart flutter and swell. He smiles a genuine smile, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he does so. ]

I would never want you to have to do anything alone.

[ He peels off his shirt and tosses it into the laundry bin, leaving on just his sweat pants, before sitting on his bed and peeling back the covers.

Genji reaches a hand up to gently brush his knuckles against Shigeru's cheek. ]

I love you too. I am so fortunate to have you at my side.

[ He drops his hand and goes to turn off the nightstand lamp. ]

[ Shigeru smiles and leans into that touch. He's a lot calmer then he was moments ago and he'll kiss Genji on the lips as he cups his face with a hand. ]

I-I don't know what I would do without you. [ But he'll curl into Genji once the lights have been switched off. He'll rest his head against his chest and the steady rhythm of his heart beat seems to lull Shigeru to sleep rather easily. But he's exhausted so it's to be expected. He'll only wake up from his deep sleep by Genji moving or speaking at this point and when he does he'll be several years younger then he is now.

But he still won't wake up as he seems rather content, unaware too, of the fact that he's sleeping so close to someone. His phobia is still really bad off at this stage in his life that sharing a bed or close proximity to anyone would make him sick still. ]

[ Genji returns the kiss, smiling. ]

Neither of us will be alone again.

[ With that, he puts his arm around Shigeru and holds him close as he covers them up with his blankets. The dim lights from his body give a faint green glow in the darkness, barely visible from underneath the sheets and comforter.

But once the morning sun peaks through the window, Genji has become a much different sort of man. He's younger again, no cybernetics or scars yet and he's very confused.

He pries his eyes open and hisses at he bright light. Ugh, hungover again. Where did end up passing out last night? It's not a strange occurance, really. Time to find his clothes and call for a ride home...

...wait, someone's next to him? With a yawn, Genji untagles himself from the warm body next to him and sits up. Huh. Weird for him to wake up next to somebody with all of their clothes still on. Guess he didn't get busy last night. All for the best, since he doesn't really remember much. There's no point to a good time if you don't remember it.

But this room is— this is weird. It feels familiar but not. Maybe it's just because he's still waking up but it feels... odd. And this guy he woke up next to, Genji feels like he knows him but he can't quite place it.

So, being the uncouth young man he is now, he nudges the guy. ]

Oi. Wake up. How'd we end up here?

[ Shigeru's wounds and current state have also reverted. He's around 21 now, just fresh into the new role as an agent and still so very unsure of his life at that moment. His phobia is also still very bad off and he doesn't remember the ring, which is sitting on Genji's dresser, so when he wakes up there's a soundless gasp from him as his eyes snap open. There was someone laying next to him right now and he definitely felt their warmth but he...he doesn't ever sleep with anyone.

He could barely stand human touch as is. With the nudge Shigeru will flinch away his back hitting against the wall as he looks around, confused, and wary all at once. He'll shake his head and shrug his shoulders. Something about this man though...it felt calming and different to be around him? He'll sign something in an effort to communicate, this guy probably doesn't know sign language but if they woke up together maybe he did? At least all his clothes are on so nothing had happened, not that he could ever imagine himself having sex with a total stranger. He honestly is repulsed by the thought after all there's Alex... ]

I don't know. Who are you? [ He looks flustered as he eyes Genji again. He was...really good looking and something in his chest tightens at seeing him. But, no, what was he even thinking?! That's not the time for this, except he can't get that thought out of his head worth a damn. ]

[ ...well that wasn't the reaction he expected. Why was he in bed with someone who was so clearly freaked out? Did someone dump them here? Man, that'd be messed up. Genji never did anything like this without consent; if he finds out who was messing with them he's gonna kick their ass.

But this guy looks scared and something twists in Genji's chest. He rubs at it idly, just assuming he's hungry or something and looks over at this stranger. They're probably around the same age, he doesn't look like anybody who gets into a lot of fights, a little nerdy, cute...

...ignoring that last part. When he starts to sign, Genji sets his jaw. ]

Ah, shit, you're mute? I don't know sign. [ He rubs at his stubbly chin then hops out of the bed. ] Should be something to write with in here. Whoever lives here will just have to deal with it.

[ There's a table that looks like it could be used as a desk, and Genji does find a little notebook with a silver pen. He opens it up to see... some little scrawling. The handwriting seems very familiar but he doesn't think anything of it. He opens it to a clean page then tosses both across the room to the scared stranger. ]

Here.

[ He stretches, popping his back a little. Then... realizes what he just did. Why did he give a shit? Weird. He's just hungover and acting funny. Genji clears his throat. ]

[ Shigeru looks a little crestfallen when Genji says he doesn't know sign language. But he's...used to that and he's used to most people not knowing it, but somehow this stranger not knowing makes him hurt just a little bit more than normal.

Still Shigeru nods mutely, shyly, as he goes to write something. How in the world did he get stuck with such a handsome man? And alone too? He's half tempted to think that it's a joke Alex and the others are playing on him...because he's way too socially awkward to ever get a man like this to sleep with him. Not to mention he's never told anyone that he's gay, not even Alex knew, so no one could possibly know. Still he eyes Genji again with a flustered red flush on his face as he continues to write. ]

Thank you. [ Ah he's so awkward. ]

I don't know where we are. I don't really recall much either. Do you remember anything from last night or the day before?

[ Ah... Genji quickly realizes he doesn't tend to do much that would cause someone to say thank you to him. He huffs and rubs at his neck, trying to hide how he feels the tips of his ears warm for a moment. Jeez. How lame.

He goes and grabs the desk chair, turning it backwards and sitting on it so he can read the notepad. Genji folds his arms over the top and leans his chin on it.

Genji shrugs. ]

Not really. I usually go out at night and waking up in weird places is the usual. But you— [ He points lazily, a well maintained brow raising slightly. ] —don't seem the 'partying' type. So that's the weird thing 'bout all this.

[ He scratches at his chest. ]

Guess somebody was just fucking around and tossed us here. Pisses me off. Don't worry, I'll make sure they get the message not to keep pulling that kinda shit.

[ Shigeru doesn't dare mention that Genji looks cute when he's blushing. But he sure is thinking it rather easily and he'll look away flustered and unsure as he fiddles with the pen in his gloved hands. He might hunch his shoulders when Genji directs that towards him.

Shigeru shakes his head before writing something and holding it up for Genji to read. ]

That's dangerous. If whoever put us here has enough power to wipe our memories then...we shouldn't try to hurt them. Who knows what else they might be capable of. [ He doesn't want to start anything because of this either. ]

Maybe we should...ask around? [ He's not sure why he typed 'we' but for some reason it just felt...right. ]
