who: Damian Wayne (
sonofab) and Jonathan Kent (
supersweet)
what: War kite training and finding some memories.
when: Random weekend in March.
where: SuperBat farm house.
warnings: None foreseen but will add if anything comes up.
[ A War kite wasn’t too far off from a Bat-Dragon. In fact, Annie was even bigger than Goliath had been when he was a baby. So giving her the proper training shouldn’t be too different.
Even Goliath learned to fly by this age. You can’t let fear hold you back, now come on, try again.
[ Annie does try and starts to flap her wings. Good start, Damian nods in approval and she flaps harder. Excellent, she’s even getting some air. He balls his fist as he watches her, a grin tugs at his lip. ] Jon! She’s doing it!
[ He turns to yell for his friend, not noticing Annie was, well, losing air and fast, oh, and she was drifting closer to him. By the time Damian turns around again, she’s coming in for a landing... on top of him. ]
Hey--Hng! [ He grunts as the War Kite pins him down. ] Alright, let's take a break from flying lessons. [ Annie seems to agree as she gives the teen a messy lick .]
...Stupid War Kite.

Hey--Hng! [ He grunts as the War Kite pins him down. ] Alright, let's take a break from flying lessons. [ Annie seems to agree as she gives the teen a messy lick .]
...Stupid War Kite.

Even after everything he was still calling him that. Not looking at him with horror or hate in the memory or here... He was, really okay? ]

That you did bad stuff. And sometimes, you hate the way your mom is, trying to push you into a life you don't want. That you've changed a long time ago.
no subject
But that's the gist of it. Mother ...designed me to be a weapon, a one-man army, but Father showed me more. [ Damian folds his arms and sighs. Mother's training ran deep, but he was trying hard to do better. Be better. To be Batman and not the next R'as. ]

[ Jon rubs his forehead with a pout. ]
Anyway, I don't really know any details details.

But, as my partner, if there is one thing you absolutely can't get off your mind, this is a one time offer to mitigate your curiosity. [ And so help you if you ask what "Mitigate" means. ]
no subject
. . . Are you gonna be okay? With all this stuff with your mom.

[ He says, trying to sound casual, but it always hurt. He'll deny it until the end, but it always hurt when she came back into his life. Called him a disappointment. Reminded him that part of his life would never truly be gone, but it always made him want to do better. To make Father proud. ]
Are you?

no subject
How do you feel about that? Are you scared having Drake live here?
no subject
I . . . I don't know yet.
no subject
He tries to sound reassuring and places a hand on Jon's shoulder. ] I'm here, J. I wouldn't let him hurt you.
no subject
[ Even weirder when Jon talks to Tim now. He runs a hand through his hair. ]
Do we tell him? Them?
no subject
[ And if you weren't already, well, sorry for putting that idea into your head pal. ]
no subject
[ Jon leaves a generous ten percent. He's a little too used to the idea of people trying to kill him. ]
no subject
He won't, but you should talk to him to quell that 10% of doubt.
no subject
On my own? Pass. It's awkward.
no subject
So you'd rather live in fear to avoid an awkward situation?
[ He gives Jon a bemused look... Maybe we should call you ScaredyBat... ]
no subject
"Oh by the way, an alternate version of you from the future came back to kill me in case I lost control of my powers. How was your day?"
no subject
...Just like that? [ He sees no flaw in this approach. You even asked how his day is doing. That's already far more polite than anything he could've thought up. ]
no subject
There has to be a better way than that.
no subject
[ He just got you to stop moping. DON'T YOU START AGAIN, KENT! ]
Just text him. Maybe writing the words out will help you think of the right ones. [ That sometimes worked for him. ]
no subject
And no, I'm not going to text him that.
no subject
I didn't say to text that but whatever you do text is going to be better than making him concerned over why the kid whose house he's living in, is suddenly running out of the room when he enters.
no subject
[ And he isn't. Jon is telling the truth. But it definitely feels like a situation he really wants to avoid or not deal with. ]
I just don't want to ruin things.
no subject
You're not going to ruin anything but if you aren't scared or angry, then sounds like you're okay living with him.
Which was the original question.
[ Dammit Jon. ]
