Axes [At some point, Ivar would start teaching her the bow and arrow, along with actual sparring. Aim though, aim was something he stressed, especially since in real life, the target was never going to stand still or be right infront of you.] Moving on to archery soon.
[She moved a little closer, trying to discern what was on the paper.] What is it you're writing?
I didn't realize we have throwing axes here. That's quite impressive. [The girl was given another smile, and then Leia moved over to give the girl some space next to her, so that she could look at the notes that Leia was taking on her paperwork.]
I'm giving my notes on the budget for the upcoming year. Things I think deserve more money and of course things that I think are less so. Have you learned to read this language here?
We have a few of them. [She suspected it had more to do with Ivar's influence than anything of those in charge.]
[She nodded.] I can't read the thicker books, but I know about things like numbers and lists. Everything is written and recorded here-what sort of things do you need more money for?
Well, the moon has a certain amount of money to do all of the things that it needs to do. The money is a set amount per month and year. And the council gets together to decide where that money goes. A certain amount of it is designated to help fund the guard and pay for it and for all of the people here. My job is to try and make sure that what we recieve is equal to what everything costs.
[Leia smiled, and opened to a page of generalized monthly expenses, there was nothing private or serious here.]
[She looked at the numbers, but only had a vague idea of how to read them.] Somehow, this seems easier back home. We have no real written records, but we try to split the money and loot fairly.
[Or not, and the person dividing the loot would soon have a rebelion on his hands.]
I can see how it would be easier to split everything fairly, but unfortunately that's not really how the galaxy works now. It would be easier if it did.
[In many ways, there was little doubt. But unfortunately, that was something that didn't even work on the smallest worlds any more.]
Yes. Where I come from it's a system of planets in a large galaxy that's connected through space travel the way that some people travel over the sea on some worlds.
[She smiled at the girl when she said that she wanted to learn, and then Leia nodded.]

I can show you how they work if you like.

I wouldn't mind learning. [For all she knew, the skill would come in handy.]

Alright, I'll set time aside for you to learn.
