[When Dodger spits sparks at him, shouts at him, Eddie squares his shoulders, his eyes going hard and sharp, his mouth pressed into a straight line, fists clenched at his sides. Dodger pauses, and Eddie leans in, holding eye contact, refusing to back down.]

I never said you did anything to deserve it, Dodger. I said the opposite. Try listening for once.

[And as Dodger goes on, ranting about how people with mutations are treated in his world, tells stories that are very obviously personal experiences, whether they were his or someone else's, someone he cares about. Under the anger, Eddie feels a little flicker of empathy.

That doesn't mean the anger is gone.

Eddie maintains eye contact, keeps his shoulders square, his jaw tense while he answers in a carefully measured tone.]

This isn't your world. More than half the people here are mutants or aliens. And I sure as hell don't remember telling you your personal grudges aren't my problem. I just told you if Ivar attacked you, report it. I'm a police officer, standing in front of you, telling you you deserve justice, so why don't you stop taking out your personal crap on me, and listen to what I'm saying?
