[open] they've summoned up a thundercloud
who: Morrigan + whoever
what: Catch-all. If there's something specific you'd like to do, PM me! I don't mind adding starters.
when: Last half of April.
where: Outside the city, or on the rooftop of the communal housing building (with fireflies).
warnings: Magical violence. No further warnings expected but will update if necessary.
note: Prose is my default but I'll match your style if you prefer brackets! I have large chunks of time to roleplay over the next ~10 days. If any threads continue beyond that I'll happily tag but more slowly.
I.
While she saves her wages and looks for a place of her own, a place that grants the privacy she craves, Morrigan prefers to spend most of her time out of her assigned apartment. Weaving her way through the city can help her find ways to spend a few hours, but on days when the job she was offered gives her time off, she prefers to explore what lies beyond the protective fences.
Armed with little more than a leather pouch in which she stores a borrowed journal full of sketches of local plantlife and the cuttings she collects along her way, she wanders the area with due caution when necessary -- these are not the wilds she knows so well -- but no fear.
A sudden growl from a nearby thicket lets her know she is not alone, but the creature leaps before she can put more space between them. She quickly shifts, the air shimmering around her. Her slender frame gives way to a form bulkier and lower to the ground, four limbs lengthening into eight. Speed and venom are on her side now. A well-aimed bit of webbing slows the fanged creature, making it easier to hit.
[Action threads are A+. You can also catch her after she's taken care of the threat if you'd like.]
II.
The swarm of colored fireflies is, if she is honest, breath-taking. It is worth investigation, to be certain, and possibly a great nuisance, but from her perch on the rooftop, looking out on the city and its night-time lights, she can easily appreciate the swarm's beauty.
Not as many fireflies venture up here, seeming to prefer areas more populated or brightly lit, but every now and then some flit around. One is bold enough to land on her, traveling down her arm until she has to bend her elbow to better track its progress. It seems harmless until she feels a slight sting. In retaliation, she brushes it off.
[I'll just be RNGing the color unless you have a request!]

i, let me know if this needs any changing
For a muscular young adult, Ronan moved quickly. Keeping the spider-woman in front of him and firmly in his line of vision, he swung at his bat at the creature. Now suffering a blow to the head in addition to being caught in a web, the creature was in no position to hurt anyone for at least a good while longer.
Ronan looked at the spider-woman. He didn't stand much of a chance against her. A shaved head and a tattoo that hooked over his shoulder and up the back of his neck wouldn't intimidate that. Not that he let it change anything, Ronan's eyes were as intense as ever. His appearance was as much his personality as it was a warning to potential predators: I bite.
He took a step back, smacking the creature again before moving out of its reach. That seemed to make it come to faster.
"Need any more help with dinner?"
looks good to me!
She feels her temporary ally's question more than she hears it, vibrations up through the spider's legs. Only after he hits the creature a second time does she shift back into her own form. Should their captive break free of the web and try to flee, she will cast fear on it and make it run that much faster. If it attempts another attack, it will be met with fire.
There is, of course, always a chance that this beast is not the only one around. There is much she does not know about them yet.
"'Tis a fine catch, if one is a hunter." Though proud, she has learned that at times she must work with others, and this place... well, it requires a certain amount of courtesy. She will never be a particularly social creature, but so far those she has met have been slightly more bearable than courtiers. "Your assistance was unnecessary, but it is not unappreciated."

"I needed the exercise," he said, which was just another way of saying he needed more trouble. Judging by the tension in his muscles and keen look in his eyes, he had yet to decide if it was over or not. He held the bat by his side, tip pointed slightly away from Morrigan. It was the most attempt he made at showing he wasn't going to be a threat, as if that was in question. "I haven't seen that magic trick before. Is this the 'real' you?"

She has no particular judgment for whatever need he has to deal with restlessness. That much she understands. She never truly wishes to risk her life without a good reason, but at times nothing satisfies more than the destruction of an enemy.
Her head tips to one side, eyes appraising. His hostility seems well-targeted, so at the moment she sees no problem between them.
"I suppose you will never be certain that this is the real me, will you?" A corner of her mouth quirks with mild amusement. "What magic have you seen?"

When he smirked, it looked like he meant to smile but couldn't quite get his lips to work right.
