who: Beverly Crusher and you
what: Quantum Tentacle Shenanigans
when: February 13, afternoon
where: Down by the river
warnings: none; will add if needed
If you happen to be taking a nice stroll by the river on Tuesday afternoon, you will be treated to the rather unusual (for most people anyway) sight of a woman flying. Said woman does not look very happy about this state of affairs: jaw clenched tight, she resolutely avoids looking down. Her arms and legs move almost like she's treading water, as she doesn't exactly know what the correct motions are for flying. Experimentally, she gives her arms a flap, but that only sends her higher into the air.
Okay, so not that. She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and tries to force her body down in an awkward sort of dive. All she succeeds in doing is somersaulting in mid-air with a rather undignified yelp. Panic is threatening to set in and she calls for help from anyone who is walking by, at least until a certain magical girlfriend can come to her rescue.
ooc: if anyone is interested in other skill/power/mental swaps with Bev, don't be afraid to hit me up, PM or on plurk at curiouslyenough!

i won't tel!
Shield of faith.
(Her voice is uncertain, her movement hesitatant as she reaches out to touch Lucretia's forearm. The shield bursts forth, uneven and brief, soon flickering out. Despite that, she smiles.)
It worked! Sort of, anyway.
♡ ur the best
You should have more confidence in yourself. That kind of thing reflects on spell casting, you know.

Well, it's one thing when you do magic, but to suddenly be able to do it myself is quite another!

(Just as her connection with Taako had mercifully come to an end!)

(She holds up a finger.)
Not flying mind you, but the shields would be useful.

(She's surprised to know that thinking about this makes her miss Cain very much all of a sudden. It would be really nice to have somebody to teach again.)
Sorry, (she says, coming out of her reverie,) so yes to flying, no to shields?
(stop)

You heard me!

(She'd been about to open her mouth to ask if Beverly would come back with her, but abruptly remembers that she's still connected to Taako, still receiving his emotions and vice versa. She sighs.)
I'd love to keep going over this with you at home but I'm trying to busy myself with boring, solitary activities for Taako's sake.

What if something else happens? Another spell I can't control?
no subject
You're right, you'll have to come and stay with me. There's no other option. (sorry taako)

(Truly, she is relieved. Even if she is able to joke around about it, she does not relish being left alone with these newfound powers.)
And I promise I won't do anything to embarrass Taako.

It's okay. (Beverly would do the same for her in opposite circumstances.) And don't worry about him, he'll get over it.

(She smiles softly.)
Though I wouldn't mind sharing with you.
no subject
I'd like to share with you too, but it feels cruel to subject you to my over thinking.

Fantastic. Let's do that, then; we can have a quiet night in.
